The Sanctuary Luxury Bath Float
Advantages: Luxurious product & pleasant to use..
Disadvantages: Higher than average price tag.
In recent times, I have become quite fond of the Sanctuary Spa range of toiletries and cosmetics, and have been raving about the range to just about anybody who will listen to me. As a result, I received several gorgeous gifts from the range from one of my very close friends recently, who presented the items to me in a gorgeous gift box for my birthday.
One of the items from the range was the 'Luxury Bath Float' which is an item I had actually used before and loved. I was delighted to be reacquainted with this product as my previous experiences had been extremely positive.
Presented in a large round 500ml bottle, the Bath Float is the colour of golden amber, and can be seen easily through the clear plastic bottle. The usual price for this larger-than-average bottle is around £9.50 which is admittedly a higher price that I would usually pay for a bubble bath or bath foam product. As at the time of writing, there is a 3 for 2 type offer running over selected items in the Sanctuary Spa range in branches of Boots, or online at www.boots.com, and I will often use such deals to my advantage, taking the opportunity to stock up on some much-loved products.
The product is described extensively on the bottle in two large statements that are probably more than this review requires. What stood out to me however, were the words "decadent bubble bath", "Float away in a cloud" alongside "unwind and let your troubles drift away." Anybody would be intrigued after reading such bold claims I'm sure, but as I had used the product before with extremely positive results, I scrutinised the statements and could find no exaggerations or falsehoods.
As soon as I remove the screw-off lid from the top of the bottle I am aware of the wonderful fragrance of the Bath Float. Being sort of warming in its essence, I am reminded of how suited to the winter months the Sanctuary Spa range of products often are. Pouring a little of the orange liquid under a running tap allows the beautiful aroma to develop, and I find it is quite feminine and quietly floral in its undertone. This soon subsides in my opinion, and a delicate spiced scent comes to the forefront of the aroma, giving it a lovely 'warming' quality that reinforces the luxury image of the product.
Soaking in the tub when using the Bath Float has proven to be a very relaxing experience. I have found the thick, spicy scent really envelops me in a little aromatic cloud, or at least that is how it feels. There is nothing 'awakening' or at all 'revitalising' about this particular product, with its best quality instead being something more soothing and rather calming. This has been extremely beneficial to myself in recent times as I have found myself feeling rather stressed out, and feeling quite 'frazzled' as a result of several unfortunate worries that seem to be on my plate at the moment. As a result, I have recently found myself reaching for my beautiful Bath Float in favour of other bath products, feeling the need for something relaxing and calming.
There is no real need to use too much of the Bath Float in my opinion and because of this and the larger than average sized bottle, the product lasts for a fairly long time, which goes some way to justifying the slightly high price tag. I find that two or three generous 'blobs' of the Float will work well enough with the hot bath water to create a satisfying bath time experience. Although there is no huge abundance of bubbles created, there is enough for me and a soft foamy lather acts as a gentle accompaniment to the luxury bubbles to create a soothing layer on my tired skin. The product doesn't colour the bath water, nor does it leave any discolouration or residue in my bath tub after use.
The scent and aroma of the product remains on my skin for quite a long time after use, and this is something that is very welcome due to the scent being so gorgeous. I find the scent is quite soothing and indulgent, reminding me of something slightly warm and exotic. When the Bath Float is used with additional products in the Sanctuary Spa range, I find the scent takes on even more 'body' and it can often be detected on my skin the following day.
As with all Sanctuary Spa products that I have used before, I have found there is nothing to be found in the way of irritation or harshness to my over-sensitive skin from this product. I have found too that the Bath Float causes no irritation to my Eczema, which is vital for me for obvious reasons.
Sanctuary Spa products are not tested on animals, and there is a statement to this effect on the reverse of the bottle.
There is a whole range of beautiful products available in the Sanctuary Spa range, some of which you can buy in store in larger branches of Boots, or online at their website. You can also order direct at www.thesanctuary.co.uk.
Overall, I find the Sanctuary Spa Bath Float is a beautiful bath time product, delivering a completely enjoyable bath time experience each and every time it has been used. It is not often that I would spend almost £10 on a bubble bath product, but in the case of the Bath Float, this price is completely justified and it is a product that I will definitely re-purchase in the future.
Summary: A luxury bath product that I would recommend very highly!
