“ Brand: The Sanctuary / Scrub / Type: Body Scrub / What it does: Exfoliates, „
This is another deviation from the standard scent of the English Spa brand the Sanctuary. It is available online direct (5.99) or for £5.82 for Boots (who often also have offers on it, which are worth looking out for!)
The price is for a standard size large squeezable tube (200ml) which stands on the lid (large flat base - very steady even on slanted shower trays). The liquid inside is a deep pink.
The smell is juicy but not as sweet as I thought it would be. You can definitely tell it is a red fruit smell, its quite stong when you open the tube but I couldn't smell much on a blob squeezed out.
The consistency reminds me of a gel facewash and you can feel the oil in it (argan oil - for vitamin E, apple oil, acai oil - fatty acids including omega).
The fruit smel is not easily discerned (mango, pomegranate, cranberry and passion fruit apparently). There are two kinds of seeds in the scrub to exfoliate your skin - you can see this difference one type is larger and darker. Although dumb as it sounds I don't know which are the cranberry and which are evening primrose!
When you put it one, it lathers fairly well in to a thick creamy foam over the skin. I have to say although it did feel very smooth and the froth was very light and gentle I was very underwhelmed. It really felt much more like a wash than a scrub. This was until I washed it off!!!
I then realised that not only did my skin feel very well cleansed and refreshed (comparative again to using a face wash) but it also looked slightly luminescent.
I also struggle when I remove hair with nasty little ingrowns and razor lumps. The scrub seemed a bit of a miracle worker on these!!! Hairs I didn't know were there were raised from under my skin and the bumps were reduced.
Overall I felt miles cleaner and fresher after using this!!! The only downside was once dry I couldn't smell any residue on my skin - I'll have to get the other products in the range to get that!!!
