The Sanctuary Salt Scrub Bar
Advantages: Smells lush, leave skin clean and silky
Disadvantages: Can be harsh for 1st few applications
After finding all The Sanctuary range on here, I thought I would continue my theme and review all the Sanctuary products I have used.
Salt Scrub Bar
The Sanctuary Salt Scrub Bar, which is orange, is basically a bar of soap but with a bit of a difference. It is an exfoliating soap which contains loofah and sea salt which is designed to exfoliate your skin. The loofah and sea salt are obvious ingredients in the bar as it has a sort of grainy texture to it.
Other ingredients include Evening Primrose Oil and Almond Oil which are designed to moisturise your skin after it has been exfoliated.
It is packaged in a clear wrapper bearing the distinctive fish logo of the Sanctuary on the front.
The products claims that it is "a luxurious soap to exfoliate and smooth your whole body.
A 200g bar costs £3.95 which isn't cheap for soap but then all of The Sanctuary products are quite expensive and usually worth the money as they are such good quality.
You can buy this product either direct from The Sanctuary website or from Boots as this is the only place that The Sanctuary range is available to buy.
This product is designed to be used just like an ordinary bar of soap. Get it a little bit wet and rub all over your body, or rub it between wet hands to work up a lather and then rub all over your body. Either way will give you the desired effect.
As soon as you open the soap, you are greeted with the gorgeous smell of the product. As I mentioned in my previous Sanctuary product review, the Sanctuary range has a very distinctive smell to it and this product is no exception.
The exfoliating pieces in the bar are fairly obvious and can definitely be felt the first few times you use the product, the soap can feel a bit rough but after a few applications it soon smoothens out.
The soap lathers up really well, more so than most other soaps I have used and it smells gorgeous when you have used it, and you can still smell the scent afterwards on your skin.
After using this product my skin if left feeling really clean, silky and smoothe.
I would 100% recommend this product to other people. Although it is quite expensive for a soap, I think it is well worth the extra money and it does seem to last a long time.
Don't be put off by the fact that the bar can seem a b t rough at first, this does wear away after a few uses... so just be gentle with it the first few times you use it. I suffer with sensitive skin and have had no problems with this soap but I do take extra care when starting a new bar as the roughness of the exfoliating pieces do hurt if you are too rough.
