“ Brand: Treacle Moon / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
I am a great fan of the Treacle Moon selection of bath and shower gels and am gradually making my way through the range. My choice this time was Iced Strawberry Dream.
Treacle Moon is a owned by a company called Blue Orange who have apparently managed some big name brands over the years, yet the Treacle Moon selection seems small and more homely than big brands which gives it a more natural feel which I enjoy.
Treacle Moon is also British and does not test on animals. Foe further information see the website www.treaclemoon.net
The bottle is standard for Treacle Moon bath and shower gel, a 500ml clear plastic bottle with a black flip top lid. Easy to squeeze when the product gets a little low and the lid snaps shut so stops any leakage if tipped over. Being plastic it is recyclable too.
The gel is a sweet soft baby pink colour, which is very girly but gives a nice summer feel to the product. I like the idea that you can see the colour through the bottles as it looks lovely on the bathroom shelf and you can see when you need to buy some more.
On the bottle is a little passage of writing that reads like it comes from a book, these often give you a glance into the thoughts behind the idea for the gel I think and are nice to read. On the back gives you a full list of ingredients and how to use guide.
Using the gel is simple and the same as all the rest, just squirt a small amount onto a cloth or directly onto your skin and wash. A little does go a long way with the product and you get a better lather if applied to a washcloth I find. You get a soft hint of strawberry but it is very gentle and I find I need to take a good sniff to notice it, this improves if you run a little under the tap where you achieve a reasonable bubbly bath, but the smell could be a little stronger for me. Rinses quickly without any residue on bath, shower or me.
Afterwards I can't say I notice the smell on my skin but this doesn't bother me really as I use a body lotion but it would be nice if they did a body butter in this flavor to use in combination - I don't believe they do or at least I have not found one yet.
Makes a lovely gift for people.
****THE COST AND AVALIBILITY****
At £2.99 for 500mls I believe this is a great value for what looks like and feels like a high quality product on a cheaper price.
You can buy Treacle Moon products from Tesco and from some websites such as Amazon and there own website as above, but Tesco is the main distributor.
This is a limited edition product so may not be around forever ☹
P.s apologies if some info on brand is repeated as I review more of Treacle Moon products
Review maybe posted on dooyoo and ciao under the same username.
I received a bottle of Treacle Moon Bath and Shower Gel for Christmas in a pink themed hamper my mum always does, I have tried a couple of these before but never this one.
Treacle Moon Iced Strawberry Bath and Shower Gel is sold in a round clear plastic bottle allowing you to see the pink gel inside, I like clear bottles, I always know how much product is left.
The top is a black plastic flip top which is quite stiff, I think those with hand and wrist problems may struggle to flip this open with one hand in the shower.
The front of the bottle gives the fragrance which is Iced Strawberry Dream and then as in keeping with Treacle Moon bath and shower gels there's a little romantic paragraph written beneath this, I have no idea if this is from a book or just written for the product.
The front of the bottle also informs the customer that this is bath and shower gel from Treacle Moon and is only available for a limited time, this seams to be the trend now with different products however this is still available on the Treacle Moon website, www.treaclemoon.net. There are also flowers and strawberries on the bottle making it quite girly and pretty.
The back of the bottle gives all the usual information such as ingredients and directions for use and also a little bit about Treacle Moon.
Inside the bottle the bath and shower gel smells just like strawberry ice cream, its sweet and obviously strawberry fragranced but it doesn't smell of natural fruit, having said that it does smell very nice. The gel is more like a lotion than a gel and is quite runny, it easily pours out with a gentle squeeze of the bottle.
I have used this in both the shower and bath but mostly in the bath, I either pour some under running water or pour it directly onto a bath scrunchie. The gel creates a lovely thick lather which smells delicious, after washing my skin feels clean and fresh, when poured directly into the bath you get a nice amount of bubbles which last the whole bath, I hate it when the lather has disappeared before I've had a soak.
Once I'm out of the bath or shower and dried I cant really smell this on my skin however I sometimes prefer this especially if I've showered before work or going out, I hate anything to interfere with my perfume.
Although the gel offers no moisturising properties I haven't suffered any dry skin from it either, likewise the gel doesn't claim to be suitable for sensitive skin and I've not suffered any sensitivity to it as I can be a bit that way inclined sometimes.
My Treacle Moon was purchased at Tesco where a 500ml bottle will set you back £2.99, on the Treacle Moon website it costs £3.30 but this is pushed up to over £5.00 by P&P so Tesco is a much batter option.
Being a pink colour and with a girly bottle I would definitely say this is one for the girls rather than a family bath and shower gel.
If you use this type of product I would certainly recommend trying this one, I've been very pleased with it and its not tested on animals either which is always a plus for me.
