Another Treacle Moon product that I received as a gift was the Treacle Moon Raspberry Kiss Bath & Shower Gel. Like other Treacle Moon products, as far as I know they can be bought from Tesco and cost roughly between £2-3 but as my products were gifts, I'm not 100% sure.
The bath and shower gel comes in a 500ml clear, plastic bottle. On the front of the bottle in large black text is 'the raspberry kiss' along with the usual little quote of 'I think this must be love... she smiled at her secret, put the letter in an envelope and enclosed a daisy chain from the meadow where she sat.' However, different scented products have different quotes so you will only find this on the raspberry products. The bottle also has a black, flip top cap at the top which also unscrews.
As the bottle is clear, you can see the bright pink liquid inside which definitely stands out in my all white bathroom. I love how Treacle Moon products look in my bathroom as they're very modern and bright.
To use this shower gel, best results can be achieved by pouring a little blob onto a fluff ball thing. (What are they actually called?!) You only need a small amount for this shower gel to lather up really well. The lather is thick and rich and smells amazing in the shower. Like the body scrub, this doesn't actually have any real raspberries in it so the scent is of fake fruit unfortunately. However, I do like the smell of this product as it kind of reminds me of a sweet shop.
Using the shower gel feels great and the scent fills the bathroom. It cleanses my skin really well and also leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth afterwards. As you only need a little amount of the shower gel for each use, the bottle lasts a really long time and I would happily pay £3 for another bottle when I run out.
Welcome to Treacle Moon
This bright pink bath and shower gel is part of the Treacle Moon range of beauty products. The range is available both online from Treacle Moon's own website, as well as from Tesco. It is not a massive range, but the products are fun and come in a small variety of scents, including vanilla, lemon and raspberry.
From the Treacle Moon website, this costs £3.03 but expect to pay less in Tesco and look out for offers in-store too! It is also well worth mentioning that this shower cream comes in a 500ml bottle - if you bear in mind that most shower products come in 250ml bottles, you will see that this is pretty good value for money.
Pretty in pink
This product comes in a chunky plastic bottle, and it is clear with black writing. As with all Treacle Moon products, it has an odd little 'story' on the front:
*** I think this must be love... she smiled at her secret, put the letter in an envelope and enclosed a daisy chain from the meadow where she sat. ***
You can see that the shower gel inside is a very bright pink colour - it is incredibly girlie and my three year old loved it when she saw it and asked for a bottle of her own! It is very fun and funky and I like the bright pop of colour it gives to my shower!
Get in a lather
I apply this in the shower using a shower puff and I find a small amount produces lots of lovely lather. It has a nice thick texture and it does feel like it's really moisturising the skin as it cleanses. And I really like the raspberry scent too - it is strong and fruity, with a lovely sweetness to it. However I must say that it is a bit artificial - it is like the colour in that respect! So although I love the scent I can imagine it may not be to some people's taste.
You can also use this as a bubble bath, but as I only have showers I haven't tried this.
I am a big fan of the Body Shop raspberry shower gel, and I would say that the BS version has a slightly nicer and less artificial scent than this one. However it is also double the price for half the amount of product! So overall I have to say that this is probably the better buy - it's a great price for a lovely shower product that really does clean and moisturise skin - and it's bright and fun too!
*** Also in the raspberry range of scented products from Treacle Moon is a body scrub, body butter and shower gel. ***
"I think this must be love..... She smiled at her secret, put the letter in an envelope and enclosed a daisy chain from the meadow where she sat".
With Christmas just gone I now have loads of bath products to review. I love getting nice smellies for presents. I always feel they are a little bit of luxury as well as being useful. The product I'm reviewing today is a bath and shower gel by Treacle Moon called The Raspberry Kiss.. I have seen these in Tesco for ages but not got around to trying them.
The bath and shower gel comes in a clear plastic round bottle. I do like clear bottles so I can see how the product is going down. They cost £2.97 from Tesco for a 500ml bottle, although currently they are reduced to just £2.00. Each Treacle Moon product has a little piece of writing on the front like a small section from a book. (see above)
The bottle has a simple black flip top lid In fact, despite the little "verse" on the front the whole product has a "simple, plain" look. The back of the bottle gives a list of ingredients and the instructions for use. This being simply to massage the gel onto damp skin in the shower or pour under running water in the bath. I personally have been using it in the bath.
The gel is not too thick and its quite easy to squeeze it from the bottle. Its a lovely rich darkish pink colour and totally lives up to its name of Raspberry Kiss. It smells exactly like raspberries, fresh, sweet and fruity. It reminds me of raspberry sorbet. The gel lathers up very quickly, not a lot is needed to create a nice relaxing bubble bath. If this is not your "thing" the gel can be squeezed onto a sponge and used. Either way it creates lovely rich sweet smelling lather.
I lingered in the bath with a book and the lather didn't disappear it was still there when I got out. My skin felt fresh and clean. I cant say it felt particularly moisturised but on the other hand it didn't feel dry and the product had no mention of a moisturising effect anyway. The fragrance stayed on my skin for a little while but disappointingly soon faded.
This aside I thought the Treacle Moon Raspberry Kiss bath and shower gel was lovely. It gave me a sweet fruity smelling bubble bath and left me feeling clean and fresh.
For the price and the amount of gel that you get I would say this is good value. Especially now while its on offer for just £2.00. Hmm think a trip to Tesco is in order
The Treacle Moon products are not tested on animal, they are also suitable for vegetarians.
Over all the Treacle Moon bath and shower gel is a little bit of affordable pampering.
Treacle Moon is known for making bath gels, and this particular one smells of raspberry!
The bottle is a simple round shaped twist bottleneck opening mechanism with a lid. I find it extremely difficult to pour it, and I tend to squeeze the bottle to get the shampoo to come out. This is slightly unorthodox, I think it's meant to flow out on its own, but it just doesn't do that!!
It has a nice story on the front, heartwarming, but almost illegible against the back, so kind of pointless. I would've prefered a different coloured text or a backing paper, but that would buckle and mould underwater, so I suppose they did the best they could.
The bath gel is a nice thick and pink consistancy, but still stays as a gel type bath gel.
~~~TEXTURE AND FEEL~~~
It has a nice luscious, almost velvet quality to the touch, and feels very smooth and nutritious to the skin. You massage it into the skin before it is rinsed off. The bath gel has a strong, overwhelming raspberry smell, that can be described as a kiss.
The smell is gorgeous and genuine, you want to smell yourself over and over, and it is long lasting, stays on your skin for a while after showering.
Apart from the smell, the bath gel feels very nice on the skin, moisturises and replenishes. It is an indulging treatment, which really relaxes you, and feels almost aromatherapeutic!
This was bought for about £3 at Tesco, but I am sure you can find it in most supermarkets.
I really enjoy using the bath gel. Although it may be a tad expensive for bath gels on the whole, it is acceptable price for one of this quality, and it is very much an indulgence, a treat for youself!
The bath gel is quite big and can be used atleast a month, and I really like using this daily relaxes myself less tense and very enjoyable treatment.
However some people might not like the smell, it may be a bit overwhelming, but I personally LOVE it.
I would recommend this to anyone who likes fruity bath things and would like to treat themself everyday!!
