“ Brand: Treacle Moon / Texture: Cream / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
I have often heard about Treacle Moon products but never got round to trying them out. So I was very pleased when Santa decided I had been a good girl and bought me a few products for Christmas - and in my favourite vanilla scent as well!
I didn't know much about the brand but their quirky and cute website tells me that the brands are produced by an English company called Blue Orange and they seem to have a garden gnome working for them (really). None of the products are tested on animals or use any animal derived ingredients. All the range is suitable for vegetarians. The company also supports the charity Khandel, which sponsors children in Rajasthan - a nice touch.
That Vanilla Moment shower gel currently costs £3.03 for a 500ml bottle, and I think it's only available in Tesco and online.
Big 'n' chunky
I love the packaging of this shower gel, and it makes it look a lot more expensive than it is. It's a big, chunky plastic bottle with a black flip-top lid. I always think there is something special about these nice big bottles, compared to the usual shower gels, and they look really nice in the bath or shower. There is also a little verse on the front that reads: "my moment of sweet calm ... just to think with carefree abandon about ... maybe I won't tell you she said shyly some things are not for sharing".
You can see through the bottle that the gel is a nice creamy colour and it looks thick and rich. And indeed it is - when you pour it from the bottle you need to give a good squeeze as the product is so creamy. And the smell hits you straight away - it's sweet and yummy and an absolute treat if you're a fan of vanilla. It really does smell good enough to eat (although I would discourage this as I expect you would end up frothing at the mouth ... ). The smell reminds me of cakes baking - yum!
Soft and sweet
This is lovely to apply and it feels quite luxurious. It lathers well and it really surrounds you with the lovely sweet vanilla smell. It washes off easily, leaving skin feeling clean and soft. After drying off, my skin still feels really soft after using this shower gel and, best of all, the smell of vanilla lingers!
This is a real treat to use and I am a big fan of this lovely product. It's also great value for money - when you think that your usual shower gels tend to measure 250ml, you are getting double the amount here. I will definitely be treating myself to this again and I'm glad I've had the chance to check out this range. So thanks Santa! Other shower gels available include Raspberry Kiss and My Coconut Island - I'll be giving these a go too next time I find myself in Tesco.
Incidentally, you can also use the product as a bubble bath, but I think I will stick to using it in the shower.
I adore vanilla-scented products and this is one of the best I've used!
I had not come accross the treacle moon range previously but I received a bottle of their 'that vanilla moment' bath and shower gel as a birthday gift and was instantly intrigued. From that moment on, I would have to say that I am well and truly converted.
For those of you that are unfamiliar with this brand, as indeed I was, I will provide a little background. Treacle Moon is a brand owned by Blue Orange, a relatively small company but their website boasts of their peoples expertise - having previously worked for more well known companies such as the sanctuary and Nicky Clarke. In fact, their website is pretty off the wall, speaking randomly of garden gnomes, mad chemists and cats...... A little odd, but it seems to work for them!
More importantly, they do not test their products on animals nor contain any animal derived ingredients so are suitable for vegetarians. Treacle Moon also has a designated charity - Khandel Moon - which helps disadvantaged families in Khandel, India. So those of you looking for ethical products, this may be for you.
That Vanilla Moment is just one of the range of fragrances available from Treacle Moon. There are also neatly named fragrances such as The Raspberry Kiss and Those Lemonade Days. The bath/shower gel is a creamy consistency and a dull orangey yellow/cream in colour. It comes in a clear, round plastic bottle with a black plastic screw cap. Upon removing the cap, you are instantly hit with a sweet vanilla fragrance (think vanilla ice cream meets sponge cake) - beautiful. It really is an inviting scent and quite indulgent.
The bottle itself, in keeping with the brand, has a rather odd text on it, about my 'moment of calm to think etc'. Definitely unique, although I have to confess that I don't quite get it....!
The cream itself can be used either as a shower gel - so rubbed into your skin to clean - or a bath foam - so poured under a running tap to create bubbles in your bath. So, it is a versatile product and you are getting two different things for your money. I have used this for both purposes but personally prefer as a shower gel. As a bath foam, it does generate a good number of bubbles although less so than other brands designed specifically for this purpose. I also find that the beautiful scent, which for me is the most appealing aspect, can be diluted and to an extent lost from your bath by doing this. When using as a gel, the smell is intensified on your skin as you massage the gel in and it foams nicely. After use, I am left feeling cleansed and relaxed, although none of the sweet smell is left lingering on your skin.
The bath/shower cream can be purchased for £3 for 500ml, which I don't think is bad value. A little of the cream does go a long way as it does lather well when washing, so a bottle does last a fair amount of time. I have previously purchased the brand from Tesco, but it is also available online.
This is definitely for those of you who like a sweet smelling bath/shower. It is a very strong smell, so could be overpowering for some, especially if you like a more subtle fragrance. It makes a great gift also as the bottle gives the impression that it is quite a pricey brand, although in reality it is pretty reasonable.
For me my bath time means peace, quiet and just me time so I do bath every night and am always on the look out for new and wonderfully smelling bath foam. I came across this one in my local supermarket and have to say I am so pleased with it.
The bath and shower gel is made by treacle Moon which is a company I had not heard of before buying this. The bottle is made from clear plastic and is cylindrical in shape. I like the clear bottle as it means I can clearly see how much of the bath foam I have left. The top of the bottle has a black plastic flip lid which makes this very easy to get the bath foam out of.
The front of the bottle has a the product title at the top in black letting and the Treacle Moon logo at the bottom. In the middle of these two names is a short paragraph which reads as follows:-
My moment of sweet calm.......
Just to think with carefree abandon about.......
Maybe I wont tell you she said shyly some things ate not for sharing.
There is a different saying on each of the different fragrance bath foams from treacle moon and I have to say they d make for quite a little enjoyable read.
The back of the bottle has all the product information including directions for use, ingredients and a short paragraph from Treacle moon telling us about their team who make this product.
This can be used in two ways. Firstly it can be used as a shower gel which really needs no explanation if you use them regularly and secondly is for a bath foam. I personally use this as a bath foam as I am not a fan of showers. For me I like to squeeze a large amount under the running tap and then watch as it all bubbles up in the water.
The bath foam is a nice thick consistency and does kind of remind me of hair conditioner when I squeeze it from the bottle. The colour of this one is orange. I would have expected it to have been slightly more on the yellow side as this is my impressions of a vanilla colour. When you lift the flip lid there is clearly a vanilla fragrance which for me is wonderful. The smell does remain whilst I am in the bath for a good 20 minutes and after I get out of the bath I am still able to slightly smell the fragrance on my skin.
For me I have had no problems with this product and have had no skin irritations from using it. I have found my skin is left lovely and soft when I have used it in the bath and the smell for me is just excellent. I have let hubby user this when he has showered just so I can get his results and he too found no problems with it and he has sensitive skin. I have only let him use it twice though as it is MINE!
The vanilla Moment bath and Shower gel comes in a decent sized bottle which has 16.9 fl. Oz. For me this does last for a good 2 months as I do have over 10 other ones on the go at the same time. I think if you use this product daily with a generous amount then you should be looking at between 2-3 weeks per bottle.
The product ingredient for those wishing to know are:-
Aqua (water), Sodium laureth sulfate, Cocamidopropyl bethaine, Cocamide DEA, Glycerine,Sodium chloride,Parfum (Fragrance), Limonene, Xanthan gum, Styrene/Acrylates copolymer, polyquaternium-7, Danatonium Benzoate, Citric acid, Magnesium nitrate, Magnesium chloride, Benzyl alcohol, Methychloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinione, Methylparaben, Propylparaben CI 19140 (yellow5) CI 14700 (red4)
This product has not been tested on animals which for me is a bonus.
~~PRICE AND AVAILABILITY~~
I purchased my bottle from Tesco and I paid £2.99 which for me is quite a lot but I could not resist as the bottle looks good and the colour is appealing and the smell is just so wonderful. I have seen this available in other supermarkets and it is around the same price
Overall I am definitely going to recommend this bath and shower gel as it has everything to make a lovely relaxing bath. It may seem a little pricy for a bath foam but believe me it is well worth it!

I have started to notice that most health and beauty products that I seem to love all have one thing in common, that is that they all have a hint of vanilla in them in some way. I don't know what it is but I love the sweet smell of vanilla and I suppose that's probably why I can't get enough of it. I was in Tesco one day and felt like splashing out, excuse the pun on some kind of bath or shower gel which is when I came across the best smelling product I have ever met. I introduce to you my new best friend, 'That Vanilla Moment' by Treacle Moon.
I have never ever heard or even seen these products but once I saw the packaging although nothing special it is quite an eye catching fun looking bottle. It is big 500ml, to be exact and is a wide cylindrical shape, clear so that you can see how much you have used. The lid is black but the product itself is a caramel orange like colour which sounds unusual but that is the best way to describe it. The front has in bold black text the words That Vanilla Moment which instantly spoke out to me with it being my favourite scent.
The 'Treacle Moon' logo is also on the front as is what looks like a typewriter text paragraph which is like a section taken out of a book almost poetic but a nice little sentence to make the product almost dream like. The back has a little description about the people that make the product who are a small team who state that they aim to make products which are scrumptious and textured for all to like and how they use unique recipes. All ingredients are also listed on the back so that you can see what is put into the shower gel and how to use as well.
The product, when lifting up the black life, it's smell is just so good you want to eat it, I am so addicted to this that ever so often I run over to the bottle and lift the lid just to get a sniff of this product it is that good, ok weird confession over there but that's just to prove how nice it is. It smells like a mix of caramel and vanilla, like sweet toffee that you'd want to eat it. Its smell is a bit of either you like it or you don't, I've shoved this in my friends faces so that they can smell it and some have gone oooh I love the smell whereas others have gone oh no it's too sweet I don't want to smell like something I want to eat.
The product itself though regardless of its lovely sweet smell is actually not a failure in the bathroom either. The bottle being so big and full means that I can use it sparingly and not worry about having to go out and buy a new one any time soon. The product is not one you have to use too much of because it lathers up very easily. I usually put some onto a puff and then rub into the skin and it is bubbles in no time, the aroma of sweet vanilla takes over the shower but I feel sweet, clean and refreshed when stepping out of the shower.
I dry myself off and my skin smells sweet enough to eat, irresistible but also my skin feels smooth and definitely thoroughly clean. The product is slightly pricier than others on the shelf at Tesco but by pricier I mean over the £2 mark, to be precise it costs £2.89. However, I don't think that is too expensive for the size of the bottle and what you get. I haven't seen the Treacle Moon products in a lot of places that I shop at. My local Boots is a big one but yet they don't sell these products there shockingly and even Asda don't have them so Tesco the big stores is that only place I have yet come across these.
If you want to find out more on the Treacle Moon range you can go to their website. The other smells in the range are Coconut Island, Lemonade Days, and Raspberry Kiss which all sound as tempting as the Vanilla one. I have yet to try these but will not doubt get there at some point when I finish my big bottle.
