      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A shower gel from Waitrose which smells far too sweet.

      ****What is it?****

Well it’s shower gel that is sold exclusively by Waitrose. It is a 250ml bottle and sells for the very reasonable price of 99p. It’s from a range of shower gel and body washes made by Waitrose all which sell for 99p and are based around natural plants or fruits. This one is the Waitrose Pomegranate & Passion Fruit Shower Gel.

      ****The Bottle****

It comes in a plain clear plastic bottle. There is a hook lid which pulls off the top. If you clip this onto the bottom of the bottle you can hang it upside down in the shower. It has a squirty top which has a special seal so after dispensing the gel no more leaks out. On the front label there is a close-up picture of a pomegranate it’s a deep pinkish red colour.

      ****The Shower Gel****

The shower gel is a pale pink colour. It smells fruity and very sweet, couldn’t really say that it smelt particularly of either pomegranate or passion fruit. Its really a bit too sweet smelling for my liking. It’s quite a thin shower gel, personally I prefer thicker products because they are easier to use and don't run off your hand.

Although quite pink in the bottle when you squeeze it onto your hand it’s quite pale and not very easy to see how much you’ve got. It foams up really well and leaves your skin clean and lightly fragranced.

      ****The Ingredients****

I’m not going to list all the ingredients but just to say that Waitrose highlights that the shower gel contains the allergens Limonene and Linalool for those of you who might be allergic to them. Also scanning through the ingredient list can’t see any mention of pomegranate or passion fruit. I have used other products in their range and at least the natural product did get a mention albeit quite far down the ingredient list so its a little disappointing to see that there doesn't appear to be any natural ingredients in this one.

      ****My Thoughts****

Well to sum it up I would say it’s ok but not great. Firstly I am not particularly keen on the smell, it’s a little sweet for me. Secondly the gel is too thin for my liking. Although it leaves skin clean it doesn’t have any skin softening properties. Its fairly good value for money but I don’t think it’s as good as the other products in the Waitrose range so I won’t be buying this one again. Next time I think I will try another.
