“ Brand: Yes To Carrots 7 Type: Shower Gel / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
I am a big fan of the Yes to Carrots range and in the past I have used a mud mask and a hand and nail spa pampering product, both of which I was really impressed with and loved everything about. Now I am back with another product from the Yes to Carrots range and that is their Carrot Rich Shower Gel, in actual fact I bought a few of their products from Debenhams during the sale. I had recently switched by shower gel from Lush to a High street brand and it caused a few skin irritations and my doctor said it was likely to be an allergic reaction. So armed with a prescription to control the itchy rash I promptly decided to bin the product I had tried in favour of the Yes to Carrots shower cream.
The Yes to carrots name is rather odd I have to admit but it fits perfectly for the brand in which they have created. The whole idea behind their products is to combine the goodness of fresh organic fruit and vegetables along with minerals from the Dead Sea, so it isn't just carrots that they include within their product, many of them contain a whole host of other ingredients which are specially picked for each product. The Yes To Carrots range is available at selected Boots and Debenhams Stores and their website which is a bright orange colour is really well designed and when you decide you want to solve a problematic area such as your face for example you are given further options to choose from depending on your skin type. So if you have normal to dry skin on the screen before you will be a whole host of products to try.
The product I bought a few weeks ago is called The Yes to Carrots Carrot Rich Shower gel and it comes packaged in a bottle containing 500ml which is for me is a slightly larger than a normal sized bottle of a similar product and it retails for £6 which is a lot more than I would usually pay for a shower gel, but it was on offer and I couldn't resist the big 20% off sign, so in actual fact I paid less than £5 for it.
The bottle itself is similar in shape to the Dermalogica Cleanser bottle that I am currently using, meaning that it is rather rotund in shape and not like any other shower gel bottles that I have tried; it is a pure white plastic container through which you can see the slight orange colour shower gel. The lid which can best be described as awkward is one that you pull on and off and it isn't easy to do so with wet hands, so I have to make sure I remove the lid prior to showering. Then, as soon as the lid has been removed and you have full access to the contents you will see inside that the shower cream is a slightly runny shower cream which smells is absolutely fantastic and one small squeeze of the bottle releases just the right amount to shower with.
The ingredients within this product which make it smell so amazing is quite a long list, but there are some worth mentioning. Carrot is obviously the main ingredient in all of the products and the reason for that is that it is very rich in vitamin A which means that for the skin it helps to keep it soft and smooth whilst helping with anti-aging. Dead Sea mud and minerals form the second main ingredients which work to nourish and revive your skin making it look and feel refreshed and clean. Also within this shower gel you will find Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, pumpkin Juice and Jojoba oils all of which are great moisturisers which are perfect for dehydrated and undernourished skin. You will also find both Pomegranate Juice and sweet potato as the final two ingredients which are both rich in vitamins A, C and E and work as powerful anti-oxidant which protects the skin cells from damage as well as further nourish and moisturise the skin. There is a full list of the products ingredients on the website and upon the product itself for further information.
When it comes to using this product it is really easy to use as you would expect with it being a shower gel. As you shower yourself you simply need to squeeze the bottle once, having removed the lid, to release some of the shower cream onto the palm of your hands and then massage it onto your skin. The one thing I like about this product is the smell; it is quite refreshing and clean smelling and for me the Almond Oil and jojoba Oil are both dominant smells. This shower cream, I call it a cream because it is nothing like any of the other shower gels that I have used and it lathers as soon as it is mixed with water and the lather is really thick.
As with the last product I used from this range, I was really impressed with how soft and smooth my skin had become particularly my arms and legs and the fragrant smell was also still very evident upon my skin and it stayed fragrant for a good few hours after using it. I have been using this product everyday for the last three and a half weeks now and my irritation has cleared up with no further problems having been caused by using this shower gel which I am really impressed with, nor have I haven't suffered any allergic reaction and it hasn't made my skin flare up at all. Instead what I have found is that after I have used it I am left with soft smooth almond smelling skin.
Overall I was really impressed with this product, it is something I will definitely keep in my cupboard or on my shelf for emergencies should I run out of my favourite products because it is definitely a good back-up product to use my favourite thing about it other than the smell is that it only takes up 5-10 minutes of your time which is no time at all for soft, smooth healthy looking skin and at the price it sells for it is a real bargain. I would guess that the tub I have got will last me around 3-4 months if I used it on a weekly basis, so you do get your monies worth and I do recommend
