“ Brand: Yves Rocher / Type: Shower Gel / Suitable for: Body „
The Yves Rocher blackberry shower gel was another that I bought when on holiday in France. It was a bit of a 'for old times sake' thing really as I used to buy a lot of things from Yves Rocher as a teenager. I tend to like the scent of blackberry which is why I chose this one. ==About the product== The shower gel is part of the Les Plaisirs Nature collection. Also in the Blackberry fragrance are a body lotion, bath cube, eau de toilette and soap. The shower gel comes in two sizes, 400ml full size and the 50ml travel size which is the one I purchased. The official description is 'Enriched with blackberry, this bath and shower gel wash lathers into a light and creamy foam. A truly beneficial moment, it offers you a delicious interlude of well-being!' ==Packaging== This product comes in a clear bottle with a screw top cap. I prefer clear bottles as I like to know how much is left. The purple colour of the gel looks really nice through the bottle - especially when the light shines on it - and compliments the blackberry picture on the label well. ==My experience== The gel is a reasonably thick consistency and pours out of the bottle slowly. I tried applying this directly to my skin a few times, but found that the lather it produced was pretty poor. I have since used it with a shower puff, which gives a thick foam, so I would recommend this as the best way to use the product. Although when I take the lid off the bottle and sniff this, it gives a fairly nice blackberry scent, I found the fragrance was not so nice when in use. Although the product has an easily recognisable blackberry fragrance, there is a very sugary tone to the scent which is actually rather sickly and synthetic. Once I rinse this away, my skin is left clean, soft and crucially for me, not dried out. I have eczema on my foot and it is not irritated by using this product. I can't smell the product on my skin after use, but that doesn't bother me too much since I didn't actually like it anyway! ==Price and Availability== This costs £5 for the 400ml bottle and £1.75 for the 50ml bottle from Yves-Rocher.co.uk. You can also order Yves Rocher products via mail order. I personally think these prices are too high for what you actually get. I paid less as we were in France where the products are made and I would not be prepared to shell out the full UK price. ==Conclusion== I would not recommend this product. The smell is artificial and I find it too pricey for what it is. Although it got my skin clean and had no adverse effects, I felt it was no better than a supermarket own brand and will not be purchasing a second bottle.
