I do love luxurious shower lotions and cremes though sadly I can't always justify spending pounds on such products which is why when I spent out on this I was more than a little upset about parting with a lot of money and I must admit I did have high expectations of it! I paid £29.00 (yes really for this bottle) to go with a bottle of Opium perfume my Mum gave me the other day and I purchased it in Debenhams. With Christmas coming up though do look out for this though in gift set form it may work out cheaper and do look at online discount stores to! The Packaging: I've only seen this available to purchase in, in the size I bought which is 200ml. It is a flattish bottle with an engraved flowery pattern into the main of it and only on the front and it has a chocolate brown plastic top with integrated flip-top lid to the top of it concealing a small hole. On the bottle itself I'm told all in gold lettering that it is Opium Luscious Shower Gel (and told that in French too) and at the bottom I'm told it's YvesSaintLaurent. On the bottom of the bottle size is stated (as I've listed already and I'm told it's made in France. That's it, simple nice enough bottle with not too much information on it. It doesn't appear cheap or feel it and you can safely take it in the shower and let it get wet without the writing crumbling off (I hate it when that happens lol). The Shower Gel Itself: Well first off I don't see this as a gel but more like a shower cream. This is a light peachy colour with a slight gloss to it and the smell is simply wonderful. To me this smells exactly like the Opium perfume and it's a heady blend of Citrus, Pepper, Coriander, Plum, Clove, Jasmine, Mandarin, Iris Root, Rose, May Bells, Patchouli, Carnations, Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Peach, Cedar, Benzoin, Vanilla, Incense, Labdanum, Vetiver, Tolu Balsam, Coconut, Myrrh, Amber, Musk, Opoponax and Sandalwood (according to information I've found on this). To my nostrils though it has a lovely waft of sandalwood mixed with musk and vanilla and it's really feminine and deep and gorgeously blended. Unlike the perfume though this to me suits women of all ages. I feel like Opium perfume really is more designed for the more mature woman in mind where as this can be used by any woman who simply likes the fragrance and this is for one reason really...let me explain.... To use this it is simple. Use it however you want. I use it on my scrunchy and onto a damp body and all I need is a small blob and that washes me all over really, really well. That isn't me being tight it's just that it really does lather up very richly into thick white bubbles and less is more or it's simply wasteful. As it goes onto the skin it feels moisturising and hydrating without feeling heavy an/or greasy. The aroma is beautiful and I'm able to shave my bits and bobs with it too! I'm left with gorgeously soft skin, that really does feel healthy and clean. However like I say this though is suitable for any woman to use. Even those who like more delicate fragrances than the initial smell this gives. That's for one reason.... The smell of this really doesn't hold on the skin for more than about half an hour tops. I was worried about using this in the daytime because I thought due to the fragrance of it I'd need to use the Opium perfume and the perfume is so strong. No though this is simply a very nice shower gel and it does a great job and is cleansing to the skin but the smell vanishes so you can use whatever you like! Overall: I'm impressed with it down to the fact it's a nice to use product. I felt great in the shower using this and I felt really good after using it though sadly the smell doesn't hold and that is rather a big let down! I wouldn't buy it at this price again I can tell you that much!
