I am always a little wary of using glass scales, as I feel they can be quite unsafe, but with The SOEHNLE scales I had no need to worry. They are incredibly lightweight and compact, whilst also being very stable and durable as they are made of extra strong safety glass. They also have a non-slip coating for extra comfort.
This model has an extra-large LCD screen, meaning the numbers are easy to read and it also sports an automatic on/off function - from when you first step on it, to when you have finished using it.
The best feature of this is the high load capacity (200 kg), making them perfect for checking your luggage for holidays.
I have found these scales to be incredibly accurate, and this hasn't changed over time.
As this model is very stylishly designed, you can show it with pride in your bathroom.
For what you are getting this is an excellent price.
The only downside was the indentations this design leaves in carpets because of the stand it fits on. Other than that, I would highly recommend.
This is a durable scale, in a minimalist glass design. It's pretty basic in features & functionality and there's no complicated instructions. The big selling point here is that it will weigh people up to 31 stone (that's 200kg or 440lb) The other feature is that it will recognize when you've climbed on and automatically turn on, give a reading and then go off after about 10 seconds (even if you stay on)
There is a large display at the front and it gives you your weight in stones, pounds or kg. There's a small switch at the back so you can choose which setting you want: it won't give you all three in one go. The scale uses 2 coin batteries (CR2032) which are easy to change (there's nothing to unscrew) and available cheaply.
The design is quite simplistic and in my opinion the scale doesn't really have a "wow factor" in the way it looks. Having said this, it's an upgrade for me from a very old (pink-carpeted) analogue scale, so I'm not really complaining!
I also wanted to mention, that these are personal scales; for people, not objects. I know it's described as a "bathroom scale" but I was curious and put a 6kg dumbbell on it - and it didn't even switch on. So if you wanted to weigh a package or a suitcase for example, you would have to carry it, step onto the scale and then deduct your weight from the reading... (just in case anyone was planning on using it as more than just a bathroom scale!)
The scale appears to be giving reliable readings (I am apparently a couple of pounds lighter than my old analogue scale led me to believe). You do need to place it on a smooth surface though (like a lino-clad bathroom) as it struggles greatly with carpeted surfaces and will give you all kinds of inaccurate readings.
Bear in mind that there are scales on the market, better-looking and half the price, that will give you not only your weight, but also your BMI & bodyfat percentage... I would say that if you NEED the heavy load capacity, then this is a worthwhile purchase, otherwise I would recommend going for something else to get the best value for money.
