Advantages: Easy to hold, low price, safe to use, quick to give results

Disadvantages: Doesnt give that close shave finish that other blades do

When it comes to shaving my legs I guess it is something that I don't really think about, I just get on with it and hope that I don't catch my skin whilst doing it! It was only a couple of months ago when I was looking it at going on holiday and that I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of packing a couple of disposable razors' as well as some shaving cream so I had a think and looked at getting a cheap Lady Shaver. I have had a lady shave in the past and didn't really get on with it, I did try it again but it just seemed really old and seemed to make the shaving process really slow so I decided to invest in something a little bit more current so after looking around I finally invested in a Babyliss 8663U Wet and Dry Lady shaver and here are my thoughts on it.

One of the main considerations when buying the lady shaver was that I didn't want to spend a great deal of money on it and after looking this model cost me £17.75, I had a target of around £20.00 so I was pleased to get a well known brand for this price. I brought my lady shaver from the local Boots store in town and I think you can also get it in Argos as well as it being available online from Amazon.

When I opened the lady shave I was pleased that it looked as it did on the packaging, very girly! The main colours were white and a lime green. The lady shave felt quite light in my hand which I was pleased about as well as it being comfortable to hold, it sort of fell into the grove of my hand and moulded to give a really good grip when shaving. Although this was brought mainly to use on holiday, I couldn't resist giving it a quick try!

There is an information booklet that comes with the lady shave as well as a one year manufacturer's guarantee. The lady shave is really easy to use; it is a cordless one so there is no worry of any wires getting in the way. This can be used wet and dry but I prefer to use it after just getting out of the bath or the shower, when the pores are open. There is a button on the front that just slides up and down to switch the lady shave on and off. There is the buzzing noise that you would expect but nothing to loud.

The razor has duel action heads and I can remember that using the lady shave in the past, it was never great at getting a really smooth finish but after shaving my legs for the first time with this appliance, I was impressed with the smooth feeling. There was no pain involved when using the razor and no cuts like I get with my disposable one. I seemed to be really quick at shaving my legs and then had a go at shaving my underarm, again I was pleased that no pain was involved but I couldn't quite get such a close finish, I guess because the surface area was a little wider than a disposable razor.

Other than that, I was pleased that I had purchased the lady shave. I don't use it on a regular basis, that isn't what it was brought for but I do take it away with me and it serves its purpose well, for a close more delicate shave though I do prefer the smaller razor blades.

3 out of 5 from me

Thank you for reading

Summary: A quick way to shave but doesnt have the precision of other blades
