Advantages: Ceramic blades maintenance free, good battery life

Disadvantages: Not waterproof

I purchased these clippers over a year a go with the main reason being the Ceramic blades. My previous 2 sets of clippers would require oiling every so many weeks so these hassle free clippers appealed. I got mine in a special offer from Argos for £20 but have seen them retail for near the £30 mark.

The clippers come in a storage case which for those occasions when you feel the need to cut your hair away from home. The storage case is quite sturdy and should last a while, it's a good size so you don't have to spend ½ hr trying to fit it all back in. The contents of the box contain the usual stuff - scissors, attachment combs (6 in total) hair clips, a cape to make cleaning up easier, a small brush for cleaning the clippers, a neck brush and some nose/ear hair trimmers.

I have read other reviews regarding the flimsy comb attachments but given I don't use them I cant comment on how durable they are, but they feel pretty tough and couldn't see why they would break like some reviewers have mentioned, they look and feel no different than any other attachments with trimmers I've used.

They are not that heavy for clippers as they have a plastic casing, and sit easy in your hand, they have a single on/off slider switch and the clippers themselves have a lever on the side to make minor adjustments in cutting depth. They are rechargeable and mains use, and after a few hours charging they last a while, advertised at 40mins. I use mine twice a week and they tend to require charging every fortnight. What I have noticed is the battery life hasn't died off yet, previous clippers after 6+ months use started to require charging more frequently to a point when I would have to charge them after every use.

The ceramic blades work well and give a clean cut without any pulling of hair; they don't need sharpening or any other maintenance. My only negative about them is they are not waterproof, whilst cleaning them isn't difficult, having waterproof clippers would allow you to use them in the shower and thats why I have rated slightly lower.

Summary: Some decent clippers that tick most of the boxes
