I am a real Avon addict and having a mother in law as an Avon representative doesnt help much for the temptation factor.
One thing I really love about the Avon is the perfumes, there are some really lovely ones that are abit different to what is sold in the shops, and cheaper on most occassions too.
Little Black Dress is by far my favourite Avon perfume, it has a really elegant and young fresh smell and also comes in a really nice simple yet lovely bottle that looks well to be given as a gift as well as for your own personal use.
The Avon Little Black Dress Gift set includes, Little Black Dress Eau de Parfum 50ml, body cream 150ml, Perfumed Body Spray 75ml and Ladies Toiletries Bag and can be bought for £12 which is really great value for all you get, this is a really nice present to buy for the ladys, or if you feel like treating yourself around Christmas then you might want to try this perfume.
You can buy this perfume or any of the rest of the Avon range online or also from your Avon representative.
There is a saying that every woman should have at least one little black dress in her wardrobe and what this means is that she should have something plain and simple that is suitable for any occasion.
A little black dress can be worn plain or dressed up for a formal function and you can even bling it up for a night out.
This is what Avon brought out a perfume with the name 'Little Black Dress'. The marketing likened it to that simple dress that you could dress up for any function. It comes on its own, or as part of a gift set. my 50ml bottle came in a box along with a 75ml body spray and a 125ml tube of body cream. This was a gift so I have no idea how much it cost.
The is an evening type perfume because it is quite heavy and has oriental notes to it. The first part of the fragrance to hit me was the ginger mixed with a slight hunt of citrus and after this perfume had been on my skin for a while I could pick up ylang-ylang and sandalwood. There is a bit of a muddled up feeling to fragrance from this perfume and I did wonder if that was because it is a mixture of so many different aromas. I think I found it kind of confusing. For me the sandalwood was too dominant and after being on my skin for an hour there was not much left except a slight musky scent.
To be truthful, I didn't like this perfume at all. It just did not seem to react well on my skin. Perfumes do tend to smell slightly different on different skin types and this one wasn't for me. However, I did actually have a couple of people asking me what the perfume was.
I felt exactly the same was about the body spray that didn't last as long as an hour and left a stale, musky smell behind. The body cream was smooth but a bit thin in consistency and once again I didn't like the smell, apart from the fact that it actually made my skin itch which is a problem I have had with several avon products.
The bottle design is simple and attractive and this is a heavy oriental fragrance. If you prefer something a bit more lively this is not for you. The best thing to do is try a sample from Avon before you buy. I didn't do that and I wish I had as I ended up giving my 'Little Black Dress' gift set away to someone who did like it.
Little Black Dress gift set
As an Avon Representative myself it may seem as though I am a little bias, however I can honestly say that I have had at least 20 of these ordered over the last 2 campaigns. This gift set is excellent value for money and was very popular on the run up to Christmas. It is perfect for every occasion from the casual day at work to the ultimate night out making you feel layered and pampered in luxurious treats. The gift set comprises of Eu De Parfum, Perfumed Body Spray and a Body Cream.
The sensual treat is a classic mingling of sweet fruits, fragrant flowers and rich woods offering you something that will cater for every taste.
The packaging for this lovely gift set is unique to Avon allowing the product to arrive at your door unscathed from the delivery and ready to use.
This set is currently in the Avon book for £14. This is the full price, but it is on offer as 2 sets for £15. You can mix and match the sets with a few different sets, so you could get 2 Christmas presents for a bit cheaper than normal.
In the set you get
50ml Eau De parfum
150ml Body Spray
150ml Body cream
This is all in a Cardboard box. I don't really like the design of the box, as I think it looks a bit cheap. It is black with gold criss cross design on it and a large gold part on the front and I think the gold looks a bit cheap. At the price I would expect this to look a bit more classy.
This scent is quite a heavy scent. It is an oriental smell and it's nice when you first spray it, but I like this more when the smell settles down. This makes a nice scent if you use all the products as it layers nicely.
For the price I would have expected a bit more, or for it to be a bit cheaper, but if you buy on the offer then it is certainly worth it.
I am often in two minds about the value of Avon gift sets come Christmas time but this is one that I think represents excellent value for money. I often wear a spray of Little Black Dress EDP on a night out and there's nothing nicer than having a hot shower before heading out and then layering up the fragrance afterwards. That way you can be sure it lasts all night.
Included in this gift set is a 75ml bottle of Little Black Dress Body Spray, a 50ml bottle of the Perfume and a 125ml tube of the Body Cream. I actually have this set already and am really pleased with the packaging. There have apparently been some problems with this in transit according to other representatives but my set arrived safely and Avon recently stated to us all that the problem has been fixed so yours should arrive safely too.
This is a nice sized box that looks really expensive. Avon don't always get these things right but in this case they have used nice thick glossy black card with attractive gold patterns that make this look like an appealing and expensive gift set. The thick plastic cover on the front of the box allows you to look in and see what's included before you open it which is a nice touch.
This costs £12 full price which I would be happy to pay and there are lots of brilliant offers available so do keep your eye out on the run up to Christmas. On the Avon website at present this set is £9 and Silver A List shoppers (Avon's loyalty scheme) can purchase this for just £6 at the moment. To be honest that annoys me given that the lowest price I pay is £6.75 and I'm a representative but I guess Avon are dancing to their own tune again.
Ignoring Avon's usual price games, this is a lovely product that's worth paying the price tag for. Especially ideal for a Christmas present if you know someone who likes the occasional nice toiletry set but does not have a specific perfume.
Set includes: Eau de Parfum 50ml, Perfumed Body Spray 150ml and Body Cream 150ml
