Ambray Nail Polish Remover
Disadvantages: It's not very effective
I have had a bottle of Ambray Nail Polish Remover on my shelf for quite a while, and when using it yesterday to take off some nail varnish I realised I had not yet reviewed it! What a shocking turn of events!
My Ambray Nail Polish Remover is packaged differently to the one in the Dooyoo picture, so perhaps it is an older incarnation of the product. Mine is in a see through but slightly frosted bottle which holds 250 ml of the liquid. It has a white plastic screw top and large black writing on the front in a very basic font which declares the name of the product and the fact that it comes 'with conditioner'. I think the packaging looks quite cheap and it is not a product that you would put at the front of your dressing table to show off!
Inside the bottle is a bright pink liquid. Of course I like pink things so this pleases me! The liquid is very thin and cool. To use the nail polish remover you add some of the liquid to a piece of cotton wool, or some tissue if you are out of cotton wool. The bottle then tells you to 'wipe gently over nail surface to remove polish'.
I find that the nail polish remover is quite average. With a really good remover then the polish would slide or glide off the nail with just a gentle wipe, but this requires quite a few wipes, and for thicker nail polish often scrubbing is required. It is also not very good at all at removing polish from the cuticles or around the nail, which is bad for me as I am poor at applying nail polish and it tends to go everywhere!
After using the nail polish remover my nails and hands do not feel dry which is good, however my nails tend to look a little pale and dull rather than shiny and conditioned.
I think in the future I will try a different nail polish remover once this one has run out.
I have looked for a price to include in my review but it seems that Ambray Nail Polish Remover is not currently being sold online at Boots, Superdrug or Asda. Perhaps it has been discontinued or perhaps it is only available in stores. However I do not recall it being very expensive so it is probably around £1.50 to £2.50.
Summary: I'm sure there must be better ones out there
