Advantages: Cheap and nice bottle design
Disadvantages: Does not work on glitter based polish and generally not very effective for me
I always have my nails painted and love changing the colour every few days so I always need nail polish remover in, a few weeks ago though I ran out so while in the supermarket Ambray was the only remover available so I Purchased it.
This bottle cost me approximately 89p in Morrisons, I have also saw it in other supermarkets. It is always around this price so it is nice and cheap.
As you open the bottle you will notice quite a strong smell, however this is the smell which I expect from a nail polish remover and it is no problem at all.
This nail varnish comes in a 250ml plastic bottle, the actual remover is purple which does look nice when out in the bathroom. The bottle has a screw top which fastens tight so no accidents with this! The bottle is quite simple but I like the design.
To use this nail polish remover you place a cotton pad or cotton ball on the top of the bottle and apply enough of the remover onto the cotton ball/pad. Then hold on to your nail, sometimes I hold for a few seconds just to let it soak into the nail, then swipe over the nail to remove nail polish. I have personally had to repeat this many times to remove my nail polish.
I did not find this product to be very effective, I had to rub hard and it takes ages to remove all my nail polish.
I have a set of OPI nail polish which is glitter based and this remover does not work at all with the glitter nail polish which was disappointing. Also when wearing darker colours such as purple I find it takes a lot longer to remove the nail polish. The bottle says how it has been 'formulated to remove nail polish', i thought this would be obvious but in some cases it does not removed my nail polish! However with lighter colours it does work much better.
The bottle says this nail polish remover is 'with conditioner', however I did not personally notice this having any conditioning qualities. I have to apply so much of this to remove the nail polish so i think it can leave my nails looking quite dull, however I must say this has never done any damage to my nails.
As with all nail varnish remover this must be kept away from heat and flames, away from children and away from polished or painted surfaces. I think most people will be aware of this but I thought would be worth mentioning as the bottle makes a big point of mentioning this on the back.
I will continue to use this bottle until it has finished but it is not something that I will buy again in the future
Thanks for reading
Summary: I would not purchase this again
