After reading the straight forward instructions, I twisted the lid open and used the applicator to 'massage into cuticles and nails.' To be honest, I didnt take off any excess by tapping against the side (although it doesnt say to do this) and I had way to much on the brush and as the potion is quite runny, I did find it quite messy. I used the applicator and applied it to the rest of my fingers and just let it sit for a while and it did ...more

Avon Nail Experts Grow Potion from Avon: Why won't you grow!!! (377 words)

I have always bitten my nails; it's not a very nice habit, and one that I've tried to quit many times. I've tried a few things over the years, although find that it takes that long to see the results that I get bored of trying and give up! After seeing Grow Potion on sale in the Avon catalogue, i thought 'd have one last go at growing my nails. Grow Potion costs £2-5 (Avon always has offers on so the price varies between catalogues), I think I paid £2.50. For this, you will receive 5 ml of product in a small clear pot with in-built applicator brush. The brush is the same type that you find in lip glosses. The product itself is a ...  Read the complete review

Useless, weak and brittle nails? Try this! (355 words)
by - written on 31/07/10 (Very useful, 314 readings)

My nails were always weak and useless, breaking off easily and peeling off layer by layer all of the time. I was sick of my own nails and had acrylics done every month to cover them up and have beautiful looking nails. My cousin then began being an Avon Representative. I had a flick through the catalogue as you do, and stumbled across the 'Nail Experts Grow Potion' on offer for £3 instead of the normal price of £5. I bought some thinking, well it probably won't work, and if it doesn't work it's only £3 down the drain, and I can go back to my acrylics again. I was wrong completely! Within a week or two, my nail strength improved quite a bit. So I kept applying ...  Read the complete review

Avon Nail Experts Grow Potion from Avon: Meh (323 words)

This grow potion is from Avon and cost me £3. I thought this was a reasonable price to pay as my nails were thin, brittle, and as I have a bad habit of tearing the ends, very short. I wanted long, strong and healthy looking nails. Read on to find out if this worked to give me some . . . I've used nail polishes from Avon many times before and am always pleased with the quality. They normally look good and last a good few days without chipping. I am also a fan of some of their other nail accessories including the cuticle balm. So as you can imagine I expected to be just as keen on this product. When the product arrived it was packaged in a small, ...  Read the complete review

Not so magic, potion. (690 words)

*** What made me purchase the product? *** I have always had trouble growing my nails, even when I put products on them to stop me biting them, i just tore them off. I have tried many different polishes and potions, none of which have had the desired effect. I saw the product on sale in the Avon brochure and thought it was worth a try. *** What to expect? *** When I purchased this item, it was on sale for £1.50 however I believe the price range is somewhere between £3-£5. For the price you will recieve a 5ml clear glass bottle full of the pink coloured 'grow potion.' It's an appealing product to look at and when you unscrew the top;attached is an ...  Read the complete review

Avon Nail Experts Grow Potion from Avon: Useless potion (178 words)

I brought this product after trying numerous products to aid me with growing my nails. I have a confession to make ... I do bite my nails all the time and have never found anything that has actually stopped me doing this and helped them grow, I usually just end up becoming immune to the vile tastes and giving up so figured I'd try this as I often buy products from Avon and find them good value for money. I applied this to my nails with no problems and the style of brush is actually quite practical but that would be about the only good thing in my opinion. The actual potion isn't very nice and found it was more like a clear nail varnish, it didn't actually feel any ...  Read the complete review
