Babyliss Bath Spa
A small main operated spa unit designed for everyday use in the home. Costing about £80 the spa is available from most good electrical outlets and home shopping companies.
The whole idea of this unit is to allow the reproduction of a commercial spa in the privacy and comfort of your own home.
The Babyliss bath spa was a little treat for the adults in the house. We bought ours via Index Extra just before Christmas last year.
Initially purchased when I was pregnant with a view to soothing aching bones at the end of the day, I was dismayed to discover that it is not recommended for use in pregnancy.
This was not clear in any of the advertisements for the spa, and to be quite honest I was disappointed that something as vital as that was not in the reviews that I had seen.
It is also unsuitable for people with low blood pressure or heart conditions.
Supplied with a clear and informative instruction book the unit is in regular use in our household.
The sealed unit is about 8 inches high and is constructed of quality plastic, there is a push button on/off switch and a round switch at the top to select whether you incorporate bubbles in your bath or not. (Great for ultra bubbly baths, froths the water a treat) It is designed to hook over the edge of the bath and is secured with substantial suckers.
There is an indicator printed of the side of the spa to indicate the minimum level of water needed for the spa to operate fully.
At the bottom of the unit is a direct able fitting that can be used on its own or the extension tube supplied may be fixed to in order to incorporate the intensive hydrotherapy facility that this unit can provide.
As the spa is a sealed unit there are no user replaceable parts, which is a disadvantage, however the warranty that we purchased at the time of sale will ensure that we have use of one of these for at least 2 years.
Babyliss have thought carefully about
the safety features and has considered all possibilities, if the unit is submerged there is no damage done to the occupant of the bath or the unit. The 15 ft power lead joins the low voltage adaptor with a plug that can easily be pulled out quickly, and a power breaker and safety cut-out switch that are incorporated into the mains socket.
Since having my baby I have been able to use the spa regularly, and I am very happy to report that it is better than the adverts state.
There is just nothing quite like having your own personal private spa in your own home.
10 out of 10 to Babyliss.
