“ Type: Gloves / Brand: Tesco / What it does: Exfoliates, „
I bought these gloves a couple of months ago now to use in the shower. I can't remember the exact price I paid now, but I'm certain it was under £1. I bought these to replace my shower puff which was on the way out and falling to pieces. I bought them from Tesco's online grocery store but I have seen them in store too. They're part of the bath essentials range and come in one colour, cream. They're designed primarily for removing dead skin and making the skin smoother and softer. They're also ideal for use before applying fake tan to prepare the skin. There's no label on mine, but the material feels and looks synthetic.
As far as I am aware, they come in one size because I didn't need to specify a size on my order. I have small hands and I'd have probably opted for small, at most the medium size if they did come with a size option as that's what I always go for. But these, gosh they are tiny! I can understand that exfoliation gloves need to be fairly fitted in order to use them properly but these are very small. They are elasticated and stretch but even on my hands they are very fitted and although I can get them on quite easily, I think I would struggle if my hands were bigger. Out of my group of friends, I have the smallest hands so I think a lot of women would probably struggle to use these, or at least struggle to use them comfortably. There is also a small piece of elastic at the bottom of the glove to hold in it place - my wrists are average sized and I sometimes find that it's left an imprint on mine after use.
Apart from the sizing issues, these gloves are a super and cheap way of keeping on top of exfoliating. I use these all over my body but especially on my back as I'm conscious that it's a hard to reach area that needs a bit more work. My shoulders and the tops of my arms are also targeted. I simply rub the glove across my skin back and forth a few times. I find that these make my skin go pink during use which at first worried me, but that fades as soon as I step out of the shower and it then feels softer and far cleaner than it did. They are rough to the touch, as expected and they feel rough when they move across the skin but again that was expected. I don't press or rub too hard with these as I feel I don't need to - along with the fact that my skin turns pink when I use them lightly anyway so I'm scared to press any harder! I am happy with the results I've experienced though and I've noticed a big improvement in the areas mentioned. I use alongside my normal shower gel and only use them for the same time I'd use my previous shower puff for so they are quick and simple to use.
These are great value, but I have to recommend with caution due to the sizing issues. If you have small hands than they are most likely ok but I feel anyone with larger hands would struggle to use these. It's a shame because I've found them to be a great everyday product but due to the sizing, I'm going to award three stars - for me personally though they would be a four.
Thanks for reading :o)
I first received these exfoliating gloves as a Christmas present, and despite almost daily use, they are still in great shape over 7 months later!
When I first began to use them my skin became extremely soft and any dry or dead skin I had was taken away, but after a long period of use these gloves have become almost painful to use, as they have made my skin ultra sensitive.
Extremely simple and easy to use, just wet the gloves, squirt on some shower gel and scrub away, but not to hard or you may end up taking one too many layers of skin off!
After you have finished with the gloves make sure to thoroughly rinse through and squeeze out all excess water, as over time the gloves absorb the water and get smaller and smaller, which is not advisable as they are already a smaller than average size.
These gloves come in various colours, some bright and some more conspicuous, but all have a similar design, almost like a criss cross pattern, this makes these gloves strong and sturdy and almost impossible to break.
These gloves can be found in various stores at extremely cheap prices, from as little as 50p in some good bathroom supplies store, so they won't break the bank and are a great little buy for anyone wanting a deep and exfoliating wash.
In my opinion these gloves are a fantastic purchase, although sometimes tough on skin, this can be avoided by being a little gentle, these gloves beat sponges any day!
Coming in all these great colours means you can mix it up a little and change your colour every now and then!
And for as cheap as they are, you might as well give them a try, I'd definetly recommend them!
There's always a rush when I go away to pick up all my stuff and I normally forget my Soap and Glory exfoliating gloves, so I tend to pick these up in tesco as a substitute!
Exfoliating gloves are an important part of any showering or bath routine as they get rid of all the dead skin and dark that may cause skin to dry out, they are an essential if you apply fake tan regularly!
*Warning* I would skip these if you have a skin infection or a cut anywhere, not just this brand but others too! This packet also warns you to stop using them if your skin starts to become irritated!
These gloves can be picked up at most of the bigger tesco stores, they are not stocked at tesco metro sadly, You can pick out of a light electric blue or the simpler white, I personally love the blue ones! These retail for the tiny price of a pound so they're very affordable and do last a good while. The gloves are very tough and sturdy but the outside can be very irritating on dry hands which is a downside and they are very small and don't allow for that much stretch . The gloves are held together with one simple logo.
You must rinse the gloves thoroughly after each use and leave them to dry, they seem to shrink even more if you forget to do this and the outside becomes more rough and not very gentle on the skin, If you forget to do this like I did once, I had to chuck them out because they were no longer useable!
I find these much more rough and uneasy than other brand's as I don't use this full time (I don't think I would anyway) They seem to be okay as a replacement for the Soap and glory ones til I get to a boots! You just pop them on your hands, This is difficult with these gloves as they are so small! The bottom elastic does prevent them from falling off, but they are also quite difficult to get back off your hands too, The soap bubbles up really nicely with them, but your hands feel very dry and irritated after you use them!
For the price, the gloves are very strong and will last a while, so if your skins not easily irritated I would pick these as this is a fantastic price! but the fact that my hands are normally very dry, the gloves are very small and they feel much more rough than my usual brand, They only act as a substitute and they are very good at doing so and my skin feels fantastic after using them! I love the blue colour as its very bright and eye catching and doesn't run out, I would give these a three out of five!
In the past I have tried various exfoliating creams and washes and have always been quite impressed with the results, for Christmas as part of a hamper full of toiletries I received a pair of Tesco Exfoliating Gloves.
The Tesco Exfoliating Gloves didn't actually come in any packaging, the two gloves were held together with a small plastic tag which had a label attached to it. The front of the label was dark brown with the words "Tesco Exfoliating Gloves" written on it in white writing, there were also two green stripes going down one side of the label. I cannot remember if there was any information on the back of the label other than Tesco contact details as this label was quickly disposed of and to be honest I didn't actually read it as I knew what to do with the gloves. The gloves simply needed to be separated for use by cutting the small plastic tag, I wouldn't recommend snapping it with your hands as this can pull and possibly put a hole in the material before you have even used them.
The Tesco Exfoliating Gloves look like a regular pair of gloves, they have an elastic wrist which is ribbed to allow the gloves to sit tightly on your hands meaning that they do not slip off when using them or when they are wet. The gloves are made from quite a rough material, again I'm not sure exactly what this is as I have disposed of the label, this fabric is also quite elasticised meaning that they are very east to stretch onto your hands. When I first felt the fabric that the gloves were made from I was quite pleased to feel that they were quite rough hopefully meaning that they would successfully exfoliate my skin, however I wasn't sure how hard I would have to work to achieve the same effect as the creams and washes. The gloves come in one size, however the elasticised material and elasticised wrist means that they easily stretch to fit over hands of all sizes, the wrist area is quite small but it does stretch extremely well allowing your to get your hands inside, once on the elastic around the wrist does not feel tight at all, however it does do a good job of keeping the gloves in place, once on found the gloves very comfortable to wear, they moulded to my hands perfectly.
Using the Tesco exfoliating Gloves is very simple, you do not need to buy special washes to use with them you can simply use your regular shower gel. I just squeezed a small amount of shower gel into one hand after wetting the gloves and rubbed them together to spread the shower gel over both gloves, I then went on to massage my skin in circular movements as you would normally when using an exfoliating cream or wash, I then rinsed as normal. I found that the roughness of the fabric was just enough and I did not have to press hard or scrub at my skin, the gloves successfully cleaned and exfoliated my skin at the same time. One I had finished and had dried after my bath I did notice that my skin felt very smooth and soft, the gloves had done an excellent job of exfoliating my skin, it felt as though I had used my regular creams or washes. I have since used the gloves several times and each time they have been successful, using the gloves means that I will save myself money on buying different creams as I can just use the Tesco gloves when I want to exfoliate. The gloves can also be put in the washing machine if you wish to wash them and despite several uses they still look as good as new and no holes have formed in the fabric at all.
The gloves come in a variety of colour, I have the bright pink pair, however I have also seen them in blue and white as well, I think it is luck as to what colours Tesco have in stock, I quite like the bright pink ones mainly because I love anything pink but also because they do not discolour with use, mine have not faded at all and the colour is just as bright as when I first received them.
One pair of Tesco Exfoliating Gloves costs 99p, although they are on offer at the moment for 66p, I think this is excellent value for money and I have certainly got my moneys worth from them, I would not be able to get a decent exfoliating wash for this sort of price nor would I get as many uses from it. In my opinion these have certainly been worth the money.
I would definitely recommend the Tesco exfoliating Gloves, they really do work and leave your skin feeling smooth and soft, they will also save you money on having to buy creams and washes on a regular basis that basically do the same thing. The gloves are proving to be tough and long lasting as despite many uses in a short amount of time they are still as good as new and the material has not fallen apart at all. despite the gloves coming in just one side they are well elasticised meaning that they will accommodate most people. Buying a paid of these gloves is extremely cheap and you certainly get your moneys worth. When mine finally do wear out I would definitely buy another pair and would highly recommend anyone trying them.
