Advantages: Pretty, fun to have in the bath
Disadvantages: Mine broke!
This year my dad really did a great job on my Christmas presents (not that he doesn't always!), and knowing how much I enjoy my Lush baths I found some of these little bath lights in my stocking.
THE PRODUCT
Each set comes with three lights which are about the size of a nectarine and dome-shaped with a flat base, which you twist to activate (twist further to replace the batteries - three in each which are included). Upon hitting the water, they bob around and glow different colours - changing from red, orange, yellow, white, turquoise, blue, purple, pink and green.
IN USE
Eager to try them out, I ran a bath on Christmas morning (with a Christmas Kisses bubble bar of course!) and turned the lights on.
Unfortunately, they aren't made particularly well and at first one of the lights would not switch on, twisting the base resulting in electronic innards showing themselves, which I wasn't sure would be a particularly great idea for a product intended to be dumped in a bath of water. It wasn't until a mid-bath mishap when one of the other lights randomly fell apart that I fiddled around trying to fix it (after a quick towel dry!) and manged to get all three in working order.
It is sometimes tricky to make the base stay in place, and I have given up turning them to the "off position", instead just drying them and setting them upside down in the plastic tray they came in.
That aside, these are a lot of fun to use in the bath. I find it quite relaxing and definitely more exciting than having candles - and probably safer for a clumsy gal like myself! I enjoy these as a nice edition to my luxurious Lush baths and are especially fun when the water is a crazy colour to begin with.
WHERE TO FIND THEM
There are available from a number of gift sites such as I Want One of Those and Find Me A Gift, where they are currently cheapest that I can see at £4.99. For Dooyoo members with Amazon vouchers burning a hole in your pocket, they are also on there for £7.99 at present.
VERDICT
These are a fun stocking filler, but I can't help wishing they were better made - regardless what you pay for them things should work without falling apart! I wouldn't buy them for a present for someone else after the troubles I've had, but am glad I have mine all the same.
Summary: A nice idea but the manufacturing is a little lacking. Don't say I didn't warn you!
