I used to have the MAC 129 which was a similar size but had less density than this. I ended up replacing the MAC 129 with this because I loved the shape but it shed so much and was scratchy as hell.
Both brushes were made with goat hair, but Bobbi Brown's hairs were considerably softer. This brush is a paddle shaped standard blush brush which I liked, and had a very slight taper to it so it concentrates a bit more colour. It's not as tapered as the EcoTools one which I hated, so that was good.
However, this brush can not stop shedding on me. Yes, I have the newer version that's supposed to be the better version of the original scratchy one. At first this was very soft, but it started getting a little scratchy after a few months. I take care of my brushes very well and I wash them weekly with Tsubaki shampoo, and dry them at a slight angle. I make sure that the wet brush always faces down and ensure that water doesn't get into the ferrule at the top.
I'm disappointed by this brush although it functions very well as a blush brush. It diffuses colour perfectly and picks up the right amount of pigment. But for £45, I expected better quality. For that money, I shouldn't be constantly picking hair off my face. These days, I can go buy a Hakuhodo brush that's 1000x better in quality and made of squirrel hair for the same price that rarely sheds. Will not repurchase.
Bobbi Brown Blush Brush
I haven't had anything from bobbi brown before, mainly because it is really expensive and I have no idea where it is stocked where I live. But searching though various make up stocklists on the internet, I though I would try ebay. I bought the travel size (12cm) blush brush by bobbi brown, It was not the cheapest but it was a better price than on the other sites I looked at.
I have been using it for a while, instead of my clinique brush which is like worn out. I really like the look of this product, it has bobbi brown written on the side of the handle and it looks the same as the ones in the picture above.
I have quite sensitive skin, and my clinique brush is really soft and because I bought it off the internet I obviously didn't know what it was like but it is really good. It is really soft and it is a great size to put in my bag and make up case for my up and coming cruise. It also came with a clear plastic cover which covers the brush to keep it protected.
I don't use it for blush as I don't wear it, I just use it with my dior powder and it is really good. It covers evenly, holds on to the product well and it makes applying my powder easier and in turn quicker. It is also a great size for touch ups of powder though out the day.
