      Exfoliating face sponge!

The facial exfoliating sponge is from my boots and used daily helps to remove impurities and make up resulting in cleaner, clearer skin that looks smooth and feels brighter. I have seen this available to buy before, how-ever having sensitive skin, I wasn't sure how harsh this would be on my face. For a couple of quid, I decided to buy it and give it a go anyway. ~ PRICE/AVALIABILITY ~ I purchased the facial sponge from my local Boots store for £1.93 which is very reasonable. ~ USING THE SPONGE ~ I took the sponge out from the plastic box it came in and rinsed it under the warm tap. I then squeezed it to ensure most of the water was out of the sponge, but left the sponge a little damp. I splashed some water onto my face and then dispensed a small amount of my facial wash to the sponge. Using small circular motions I massaged my skin with the sponge all over my eyes, being very careful around the eye area. The sponge was slightly rough so it's important that you don't rub hard when using the sponge against your skin. You don't need to apply hardly any pressure to the sponge for it to rub and exfoliate your face. As I used the sponge, it felt as though it was really working to exfoliate my face and to get rid of any dead skin cells. It also felt as though it was giving my face a very good clean and a nice massage at the same time. After I had finished using the sponge, I rinsed my face with lukewarm water and then rinsed the sponge out and left it to dry naturally. ~ RESULTS ~ My face didn't feel dry and it felt smoother and softer and looked a little brighter too. The sponge felt as though it had really buffed up my skin and got rid of any dry/dead skin cells. I always apply moisturiser twice daily and applied some after patting my face dry. Once the moisturiser had soaked in, my skin felt so much softer than it had done before. I didn't particularly think I had dull skin; how-ever my face seemed a lot brighter than it was before using the facial sponge. I was really pleased with the results the sponge gave my face. I used this sponge daily and it has also reduced the number of spots that seem to pop up every now and again, especially during certain times of the month! ~ OVERALL OPINION ~ Although I have sensitive skin and sometimes suffer from dry patches, the exfoliating sponge didn't irritate my skin or cause any reactions to it. I was actually surprised at how gentle the sponge was, even though it felt a little rough when using it. I use the sponge with Simple facial wash and this has shown a great improvement in the texture and the brightness of my skin. My skin feels a lot smoother and softer than it did before and my face seems a lot brighter and make up appears to go on better as well. For £1.93 I actually think the sponge is very good value and would highly recommend it to others to use. The sponge can easily be washed out and left to dry so you can re-use the sponge a great number of times before having to replace it. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars! What a fantastic beauty buy! (review also on ciao)

A great facial sponge that provides extremely effective results

I emailed dooyoo and made a product suggestion, as the item I'm reviewing was not available in their catalogue. This is one of the best beauty items I have ever purchased so I wanted to tell you of my experience. The young dooyooers won't remember Buff Puff, which was available in the late seventies/early 80's. It was a fantastic item, but disappeared soon after I discovered it. However, about three years ago whilst shopping in Boots I discovered the exact item, but this time manufactured by Boots itself. This fantastic item is called "facial exfoliating sponge". Whilst the name doesn't sound very exciting and neither does the product itself catch the eye, its' benefits are fantastic. The sponge comes in a transparent plastic case and has the famous Boots logo in the top left hand corner. The sponge is part of the essentials range and is fragrance free and is suitable for all skin types. The sponge looks rather dull and ordinary and is white in appearance. On removing from the box, it feels considerably rough in texture and you'd be wondering why I'm making all this fuss. The sponge measures 8 cms in diameter and is 2 cms high. You simply dampen the sponge with warm water, add your usual face wash and gently rub your skin with circular movements. In doing so, the sponge will remove any make-up and exfoliate. To be honest, I never remove my foundation with make-up remover, as this sponge does the job for me. However, be aware that you need to rub gently as when I first bought the sponge, I was a little heavy-fisted and rubbed too hard and ended up cutting my face in quite a few places! It's like a wire brush if you rub too hard! The sponge is a perfect exfoliator if used correctly. Once you have finished, you simply rinse the sponge thoroughly in warm water and leave to dry naturally. As it takes quite a while to dry, I tend to give it a slight squeeze and place it on top of my towel that is hanging on the radiator. You'll find it will dry in just a few hours, as the towel will absorb the moisture. After use, your skin will feel fantastic and perfectly clean. I then apply some face cream or baby lotion, as my skin tends to feel a little dry after use. I've been using one of these sponges every evening for the past three years and whilst I suffer with the occasional spot, I really feel that this sponge is giving me a fantastic facial by removing the dead layer of skin and keeping my skin squeaky clean. For hygiene reasons, I replace my sponge every 4 - 5 weeks with the old sponge being suitable for recycling. There are warnings on the rear of the packaging which state you should not use the sponge on delicate eye areas and should not use on irritated or damaged skin. One of these sponges will cost you £1.89 in Boots. However, I've found not all Boots stores sell them, so I tend to stock up on a few when I see them. I cannot recommend this sponge highly enough and therefore, give it 5 out of 5 dooyoo stars. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
