Boots Essentials Small Styling Brush
Advantages: Small enough for a handbag
Disadvantages: None at all for me
If you ask my Parents or my Husband they would all probably say I carry around a lot of unnecessary junk in my handbag, personally I think it is all necessary as you never know what you may need. One item that I always like to have with me is a hairbrush, my old one I had fallen apart so I decided to was time for a new one.
The replacement I now have is the Boots Essential Small Styling Brush, when it comes to a hair brush for my handbag I like something that is small and not too bulky but at the same time actually works, some small cheap brushes you can get are no good for my hair which is long and thick, the bristles bend as soon as I try and brush my hair and I don't actually achieve anything, however this brush from Boots seemed exactly what I wanted.
The Boots Essentials Small Styling Brush doesn't actually come with any packaging, it has a small rectangle shaped purple label attached to the handle of the brush with a black plastic tag, this can easily be removed with a pair of scissors. One side of the label is purple and has the Boots logo at the top with the name of the brush written underneath in a darker purple and white writing. The back of the label is white and basically has the name of the brush written on it again along with an address for Boots, to be honest there really isn't any product information on the label.
The hairbrush is made from a matt black plastic, it has a rounded handle with a chunky black head covered in black bristles, there is a small shiny silver ring where the handle meets the brush head, there is also a small round hole in the bottom of the handle (this is where the label is attached)
The size of the brush is ideal, it is not too small so that it really doesn't have any effect on your hair, but on the other hand it is not too big and bulky, the whole brush measure just over 6 inches in length with the head being 1.5 inches wide, the hair brush handle measure just over 3 inches which is an ideal length for you to be able to brush your hair effectively.
The handle is very slightly curved in at the middle which makes it easy and comfortable to grip, again making it comfortable to brush your hair on the go.
Another thing which makes this hairbrush a bit different to other small compact hairbrushes are the bristles, they are of a decent length measuring half an inch, they are evenly spaced and form a slight curved shape, the bristles are also extremely firm which is essential for me, my hair is thick and long as I have mentioned, so if the bristles on a brush are to weak and flimsy they do not actually brush my hair at all, the bristles on the Boots Essential Small Styling Brush get right down to the root and do not bend at all, quickly and effetely smoothing and removing any knots from your hair.
The Boots Essential Small Styling Brush is obviously only available from Boots as it is part of their own range, it is sold for £3.29 which personally I think is excellent value for money. The hairbrush is of an excellent quality and in my opinion very reasonably priced.
Since I got the Boots Essential Small Styling Brush I have been extremely pleased with it, as well as using this hairbrush whilst out and about I have also used it at home when straightening my hair as it is of such a good quality and it brushes my hair so well.
The hairbrush is very reasonably priced for such a good quality, it is the ideal size to carry around in your handbag but at the same time is large enough to successfully brush your hair leaving it knot free and smooth. I think this is definitely the best small hairbrush I have had for my handbag and one I would recommend to anyone.
Summary: A nice little hairbrush
