Advantages: Really good effective nailvarnish remover...

Disadvantages: No child safety lid...

When I started wearing nail varnish properly I was fourteen and went for the coolest colour there is - 'Black'!

I wore this shade all the time until pretty recently when I started wearing all different bright colours sometimes too :o)

I like neon colours, colours that stand out and look really good together, bright blues, vibrant purples, that kind of thing, but they can be difficult to remove without a decent nail varnish remover...

This is where Boots nail Polish Remover comes in at 99p a bottle it's a bargain for 250ml of lilac coloured solvent!

The bottle is plastic with a bright pink lid (yak!) and is safe to use for up to 30 months once opened.

It does say highly flammable in capital letters so keep away from naked flames.

This product contains Bitrex which is a nasty tasty substance that is designed to put off young children drinking it - but there is not a child safety lid either on this bottle so I don't think that's safe in the first place Boots!
The smell is really strong and chemical-like so you should avoid inhaling it; I have to be careful with this type of stuff as I have a bad chest, but I just soak a piece of cotton wool ball at arms length.

You also have to be careful near fabrics and painted surfaces as this liquid is designed to strip surfaces so could damage a polished area of furniture really quickly.

It is simple to use, just soak the cotton wool ball and leave on each nail for a couple of seconds to let it soak in and the colour comes off as if by magic, it's really cool :)

I have tried oilier versions of this type of product and they feel really greasy. Those products are designed to protect the nails but are a lot more expensive than this shop's own brand which does a really great job anyway.

The colour comes off really well and it gets it all off properly which is important, even the dark shades I wear...

Hands have to be washed afterwards though as this is a strong solution and contains Acetone which is the strong stripping chemical that does the job.

Five stars from me, I think it great value for money and works really well plus lasts for ages (months really) - why pay more for something that gets flushed down the loo after use?!

Summary: Good for me for getting my bright and Black colours off! ;)
