Boots expert conditioning nail polish remover
Having decided to have a go at improving the condition of my nails, I needed a nail polish remover and wanted one which hopefully wouldn't make my nails too brittle and thus undo any good work I was doing.
This one promises to be different and claims that whilst some nail varnish removers take off more than you bargained for, this will remove the polish but because it's enriched with apricot kernel oil and pro vitamin B5, nails won't be left dry and brittle. If it does indeed do this, then this is the one i need, and because i tend to like the Boots expert products, i immediately bought one.
The nail polish remover comes in a plastic bottle containing 150ml of the stuff, with all of the instructions and information on the back of the bottle. When I look at it appears to be orange but when I put it onto cotton wool, it is clear, so I don't end up with orange tinted nails. It has the same kind of acetone small as normal nail polish removers only less strong, which is definitely a plus point.
The directions tell me to moisten cotton wool and apply it to the nails to remove all of the nail polish. When I do this, I find that with several sweeping and not pressing motions I can remove even the darkest of nail colours. Another good thing about the remover is that it doesn't seem to sting like some nail polish removers do if I have a small cut on my finger.
It costs £1.25 for a 150ml of the stuff which when used as a normal remover does last a long time especially if, like me, you don't use it too often- i use clear hardening polish most of the time.
The product comes with the usual warnings- highly flammable and keep it away from children, which seems common sense.
Available from boots stores and online at www.boots.com.
VERDICT...
This nail polish remover has definitely delivered on its promises. I have been trying to reduce the brittleness of my nails and to this end have been using hardening polishes. My worry was that a normal nail varnish remover would leave my nails drier than they started but this one has ensured that they have not become brittle, and even when I have just applied the stuff, my nails actually do feel conditioned and slightly moisturised. I did worry that it would be too gentle to remove all of the polish but it does an excellent job of quickly and easily removing the polish and because it doesn't sting, i can get all the hard to reach bits of polish which may lurk near my cuticles.
I recommend this for anyone wanting an effective and gentle nail polish remover.
Thanks for reading.
