A great little addition to pop in your handbag

I find this brush is an ideal size to carry around with me in my handbag. Although it is called a mini metallic brush it isn't actually made of metal and is made of plastic. The metallic name refers to the vibrant metallic shade of ruby red it is made in. Also as you would expect from the name it is very small but the handle is big enough for me to hold comfortably but I do have quite small hands. I would say that if your hands are on the larger size you may not be able to grasp it so comfortably.

The bristles are quite firm but I like the feel of them when I brush my hair and I feel that I am brushing right down to the roots. They also have a small ball at the end of each bristle which helps them to push through your hair without any trouble and they are generously spaced which also helps it to get through thicker hair. I never find that it snags or pulls my hair even when it is quite windswept. The base is cushioned and rounded which makes the bristles stick out at the correct angle for easy use.

I have had this now for some time and the bristles are still all intact. Like most brushes the hair does settle at the bottom of the bristles but they do pull out easily enough. As I use products in my hair I occasionally give it a quick wash in warm soapy water as it gets a bit sticky after a while. It also has a small hole in the end of the handle but it isn't really big enough to hang anywhere so don't really see the point of this.

This brush is a bargain at 99p so even it if didn't last long you can't complain at that price. It is ideal for your bag and also to take away on holiday as it wouldn't take up much room in your luggage. It also comes in dark blue or purple which are also deep metallic colours. The only thing that I can think of to improve it would be for it to fold up like some other smaller brushes but apart from that it is a great little addition to your haircare.

      Boots Mini Metallic Brush Reviews

This brush is a great little mini brush to keep in your handbag for on the go touch ups. It will never replace your main brush for styling your hair but it is fine for when your hair just needs a quick brush to tidy it up.

It is available in Boot's for only 99p and comes in a metallic red colour. The brush itself is made of plastic and when it says that it is mini it really is small. It is very compact but it has been made well and even the handle which is tiny is comfortable to hold.

The bristles are strong and well spaced and are ball tipped so that they go through hair. These even go through thick hair quite easily though sometimes I do need to put a little bit more effort into brushing. It doesn't really tug or pull my hair when it is going through. Like most things which are 'mini' it does take a bit longer but in the end it does just do the same job as my larger and thicker brush.

I use this a lot on nights out and even in the car when it is windy and my hair has been blown about a bit just to get it looking a bit tidier and smoother.

I have had loads of mini brushes before and without exception the bristles have snapped off to the point where I am brushing my hair with only a couple of bristles but the ones on this brush are pretty good and well stuck on and only one bristle has snapped off in the time that I have had it.

This is a cheap little brush that costs next to nothing to buy and although it isn't anything amazing it is a handy thing to have and because it is so portable it can be put in most hand bags and used on the go making it a really useful little item.

A simple but effective brush ideal for handbags

I bought this brush in Boots recently as a replacement for my old one (after 5 years the bristles were finally starting to fall out). I was looking for a small, cheap brush which I could keep in my handbag and at just 99p this one seemed ideal.

The brush is indeed very small and petite enabling it to fit nicely in the bottom of my handbag without taking up to much room. It is available in different colours in the store including a radiant red, dark blue or a purple one which is the colour I chose. Although, if you buy one online the only colour available is the red one for some reason. It has a neat rounded paddle covered by a cushioned base which holds the ball-tipped bristles. This is attached to a short but thick, broad handle with a hole at the end in case you ever need to attach the brush to anything.

My hair is long but is also straight and not overly thick and this brush handles it perfectly. At first the bristles felt a bit hard but they are great for getting out tangles and you get used to them after a while. The bristles are also well spaced so you can easily get out stray hairs to keep the brush neat and clean. The shortness of the handle makes it a bit uncomfortable to hold for any length of time but it is fine as a quick fix.

It is reasonably well-made but I don't expect it to be particularly durable at that price and indeed the colour has already started to fade in some places. The bristles are still firm and holding up well though so I can't complain.

I've had this brush so long I don't actually remember buying it, but I know it was from Boots and when I saw them in the shop the other day it prompted me to do a review. According to the Boots website, the mini metallic brush comes in a "radiant, metallic ruby colour", which is actually the colour I have. Well yes it does, but it also comes in different colours if you visit the store so there's something to match everyone's handbag colours!

The brush, as you can probably tell by its name, is handbag sized and designed to carry round without taking up too much space. It doesn't fold or anything, but is quite small, measuring about 3 inches at its tallest point, with the handle being relatively short so the brush itself is a decent size. It handles my long thick unruly hair very well, which is something I find difficult in a mini brush because most of them are too flimsy to cope with my wild hair.

Don't be fooled by the name into thinking that the brush itself is actually metallic....it's not going to weigh your handbag down (ha ha), it's purely the colour which is metallic, although after many years of carrying this round in my handbag mine is looking quite dull now.

The bristles are ball-tipped which makes them nice and soft on your scalp, and also helps to detangle hair. The base is raised and cushioned which makes this brush very comfortable to use. I use this brush most days when I'm out and about, and I find it comfortable and sturdy. It keeps my hair neat, and the brush is structured so that it doesn't buckle under the weight of my hair like those foldaway brushes can.

I guess the only downside to the brush not being foldable, is that it tends to attract dust and random items from the bottom of my handbag which can be annoying. I also have to be careful to detach any stray hairs before putting it back in my handbag, otherwise I end up with a bag full of hair! I wash it quite frequently for the dust reason, and just leave it to soak in soapy water, then to dry naturally.

Although it's looking a bit dull on the outside now, it still functions as well as it did when I first bought it. At a mere 99p, I would definitely recommend this brush as a handy travel brush, ideal for fitting in your handbag or suitcase. I can also say from experience, that although it's only small, it does deal with thick and unruly hair very well.
