Boots Emery Boards
Advantages: pocket size
Disadvantages: you can get better products cheaper
My natural nails are terrible; they are really short and weak. I wear fake nails a lot to hide them but recently I've decided to give them a break for a while and try and get my real nails to grow and get a bit stronger.
I very much doubt this will happen but anyway I've been filing them down today and trimming the cuticles etc. So I've been using all my different nail products and now I'm in the mood to write a review about some of them . . .
I bought these three mini emery boards from Boots about three months ago. They cost £2.04, I think they were on offer at the time I bought them though, which was one of the main reasons I decided to buy them. If you have an advantage card you will pick up 8 points when you buy these. You can get similar products for much cheaper in places like Home Bargains, Savers etc.
The boards are really small, hence being called 'mini'. This is an advantage in some ways. They're the ideal pocket size, so you can slip them into your handbag for emergency use throughout the day. Also it makes them a little bit easier to use, as you have more control over your hold on it. But there are also some disadvantages to them being so small as well, for instance, they don't last as long as bigger emery boards. They are also easy to lose.
I'm not so sure that these are good value for money. I think they're a bit of a waste of money actually. I've got a metal nail file from Boots which was half the price these cost me at just £1, and it has lasted much longer than these have lasted me. It is also much more effective to use as it is far better quality. Overall I would not recommend these as there are loads of similar products out there for much cheaper, they don't last long, they are small and easily lost, and the quality is not very good. When I try to file my nails these don't really make much difference or do a very good job.
Summary: Waste of money when you get get metal nail files for cheaper, which last much longer and work better
