“ Type: Lip Brush / Brand: Boots / Suitable for: Lip „
Make-up is something that I wear on a daily basis. I usually wear a lighter version of my night-time make-up and so when heading out for the evening I can just top everything up and add a little twist. Then if I have been at work all day I am able to get ready for a night out quite quickly. I like to look after my skin and so I use make-up brushes as this means that I am not using hands which might spread dirt and germs around my face. I like to use nice brushes to ensure that they are long lasting and that I get a nice effect. I keep my brushes together in a little bag and I've had some of them for a good year or two now. I like to give them a rinse every month or two and leave to dry naturally overnight before I use them again. Just to make sure everything is hygienic and this leaves me feeling quite confident that I am doing all that I can to look after my skin. This brush currently sells in Boots for around £7.00 however I believe I paid just £1.00 or £1.50 thanks to having a £5 off No 7 voucher (who doesn't love those?!). This is a lip brush that is quite simple in design. It is a blacky brown coloured brush for gold detailing and says 'Essential Lip Brush' on the handle. The bristles are quite short and fine and there are lots of them. Overall it looks quite simple and I guess the appearance really is similar to any other lip brush, regardless of price. I probably wouldn't have wanted to pay almost £7.00 for it until I'd been able to use it which of course you can't do without buying so I guess I'd not have got this if it wasn't for the £5 off No 7 voucher. This brush is easy to hold on to and feels quite comfortable to hold. Obviously I only use this for a few minutes a day but generally the feel of it is smooth and it is easy to hold. This looks simple yet stylish and I don't mind if people see me using this to apply my make-up (say at work if I'm running late in the morning). The bristles are shaped in to a rounded square that reminds me of the shape of a manicured fingernail. I always reshape these bristles after I have washed this brush just to ensure that they stay in the shape that works for my lip application. I use this lip brush to apply lipstick and lip balm. I don't use it for lip gloss as I tend to just apply that directly from the tube. I use this to apply lipstick all over my lips and I apply it over the top of a lip coating or similar product to allow my lipstick or lip balm to stay on for as long as possible. I will say that my lipstick lasts for hours now, regardless of what brand I use, and I feel that this has been helped by me using a lip brush. I like that I can ensure an even coverage and that I can then rub my lips together and be ready for a day or night away from home. I find it easy to apply the lipstick or lip balm to my lip shape now and the brush allows me to do neat edges and fill in any worn or missed bits throughout the day should I need too. Overall I have been very pleased with this lip brush. There has been minimal loss of bristles so far with just a few falling out and I actually use mine almost every single day of the year. I find it simple to apply lipstick and it stays put and lasts long so this brush gets a 5/5 from me.
I bought this lip brush from Boots, where it cost me £6.64 and gained me 24 points on my advantage card. I was drawn to the brush because I thought it looked really professional; the design is quite simple, it is slim and long with a shiny black handle and gold writing on it, and a gold part before the bristles, but in my opinion the design really works and is effective. The bristles are shaped perfectly so that when I apply lip stick using this brush I can put it on extremely neatly and accurately, without getting it on my teeth or around my mouth, because of the straight precision of the bristles. The bristles are also quite soft which means the brush is gentle and does not stratch my lips. I wanted this because I hate putting lip stick on straight from the tube. I know that might sound a bit OCDish but I think it looks much better when it has been applied using a brush. Somehow the result and feel of putting it on this way makes my make up look and feel much more professional and it gives me more confidence in my day to day life. The brush, overall, is really great in my opinion. It is very reasonably priced, looks professional and also works really well. I'm pleased with the item and would definitely recommend it to others. Go on give it a try! Thanks for reading xo
*As with my previous No7 brush review I must have the older/newer brush design aas my brush although it is the same size and shape has a pearly pink handle and a brown brush. They are designed for the same purpose though.* This is another brush I found whilst randomly clearing out my make-up cases and this one I really had forgotten I own as Im always complaining that I cant find a lip brush or applicator as I dont like getting gloss or balm on my hands or fingers. So basically a product like this is an essential item for me as I wear lipgloss on a daily basis and I need something to apply it with but this is better than your ordinary, bog standard lip brush I reckon. Useful Information: Price: £6.50 Stockists: Boots Promises perfect application of lip colour every single time you use it. The brush is quite a good length and although it is skinny you can still get a proper grip around the handle so your not putting gloss all over the place. I think the design of this and all No7 brushes are simple yet stylish and effective they certainly look great on my dressing table anyway and they definately do the job! The brush is actually quite simliar to the picture however mine looks slightly more rounded and curved at the top and if anything a tiny bit slimmer. I reckon they have changed the design of the brush to fit your lips better and therefore make application much easier but I cant be totally sure. Now this brush can be used to apply literally anything to your lips whether that be gloss, balm or actualy lipstick as Ive used it for all of those things and it works just as well whatever product your applying. I think this helps make a colour gloss/lipstick look a lot more even on your lips and it makes sure you have got too much colour on which with me can be a real problem especially with lipstick but when using this I dont have that issue at all. It also helps glide on gloss better, I think it makes lips appear less dry and therefore the colour doesnt sink in and exaggerate that and it just makes applying anything so much easier. You can get a really perfect lip shape with this brush as it seems to curve and fill exactly where you need it to without anything going on the skin around your mouth. If your looking for something to help give you a perfect Cupids Bow & a polished pout then this is definately a must have for your make-up bag. The price of this may seem a little high as it is only a brush but I think its worth every penny. My lips look mch better wen I use this rather than my fingers or a sponge applicator and I will continue using it until all the bristles fall out LOL. Highly recommended. Oh! And before I forget this brush does tend to get dirty quite quickly especially if you wear very bright/dark lip colour but it can be wiped down quickly with a baby wipe. I do recommend washing it properly when you get the chance though. Thanks For Reading x0 Salz 0x
