      Detangle me!

When it comes to hairbrushes I am really, really fussy about what I will use and only really use Denman. When I recently nipped out to my local Boots I was in the market to buy a Denman comb but they didn't stock anything Denman related and so I had to get this one as there was so little choice and I thought oh well what does it really matter it only a comb....... and this one cost me just £2.99 anyway so i felt that it was worth a punt!.

The comb is black with only a small band of silver to where the handle meets the section of teeth and it is made of smooth plastic. It isn't fancy to look at and doesn't have bells and whistles to it. It is lightweight but not flimsy, in fact its really sturdy.

The handle is long on this one and comfortable to use being rather thick and rounded so I can grip it well. The comb section has 18 long 'teeth' which are neatly spaced but not too far apart which is important considering that this is marketed as a detangling comb of course and the ends are smooth but not sharp.

You can use this in any way you want to of course. I use mine to detangle my knotty hair when I have washed it the most. It doesn't drag, pull or hurt my scalp and it is highly effective at doing what I require it to do. I also use this through dry and styled hair when I have styled it straight rather than a brush that always seems to make my hair frizzy, this doesn't! It looks nice enough to pop in my handbag and whip out as it doesn't look cheap as well which is a nice bonus.

I like the way the 'teeth' are slightly flexible and not rigid on this meaning it really doesn't pull my hair out but at the same time they are strong and although I have owned this quite a while and use it very often it still isn't showing any signs of wear and tear at all.

I really do like this comb. Its a simple concept that looks nice and works very well indeed so I have no complaints about it at all and think it is a great buy for under £3.00 for a decent quality comb!

      Only available from Boots stores.

A complete bargain - highly recommended!

      ~ Why I Bought It ~
I bought this hair comb around a year ago now because it was cheap and because I'd been wanting a new comb for a while as I found that even after brushing my hair with a paddle brush and the comb that I had at the time it was still quite knotty. There were a lot of options to choose from but I chose this one because I liked the design of it and as I said before because it was cheap!

      ~ Price ~
This comb is only £2.79 which is amazing value for money. I have seen other brands of combs selling for £4-5 and this one looks just as nice and it is really good quality and well made.

      ~ My Opinion ~
The first thing that I like about this comb is the design of the handle. Most of the combs that I've had in the past have all had very fiddly handles which aren't the easiest to grip whereas this has got a good sized handle which is rounded with a slight curve to it which makes it easy to grip and I am able to brush through knots and tangles without worrying that the handle will snap!

The comb itself has got eighteen teeth. Two of them (one on the top and one on the bottom) are a lot thicker than the others. The teeth are made from plastic and the ends of them are blunt so they don't hurt my scalp or feel sharp against my head. The teeth are speed widely apart which I like as it makes brushing my hair that bit quicker than it is with combs which have closely spaced teeth.

I find the comb really easy to grip and combing through my hair doesn't take long with this. I usually brush my hair through first with my paddle brush to get the worse of the knots out and then use this to get rid of the smaller tangles and knots. It sorts bad knots out really easily without getting stuck as it is very strong and sturdy however it does have a couple of bent teeth where I've had bad knots. The bend in them isn't too bad though and the comb is still useable and it does a really good job of de-tangling my hair.

The only disadvantage I can think of is that it does leave my hair looking a little bit frizzy, especially around the front of my hair but I find that a quick brush over with my paddle brush after I've used the comb gets rid of the slight frizz.

      ~ All in All ~
This is a really good quality hair comb which is great value for money and I highly recommend it.

      Five out of five stars.

      Excellent quality comb

I have had this detangle comb for around 4-5 years now, and I use it every single day. It still looks as good as the day I bought it! I bought it in Boots, for around £2.50 at the time, looking on the Boots website today it is selling for £2.79, which is definitely a bargain considering how long it has lasted for me.

I wanted a wide toothed comb, after my hairdresser told me that brushes and other combs damage your hair when brushing, especially when wet, you should only ever use a wide toothed comb on your hair to prevent breaking your hair and damaging it. Since she told me this, I have only ever used this comb on my hair!

It is black, and the comb is lightweight, but does have a little weight to it, so that it doesn't feel cheap at all. It really feels like a good quality comb, and definitely has been for me over the years. The actual comb part doesn't feel spiky or sharp at all, it is quite blunt as the edges are rounded, which is to stop your hair from being damaged whilst being combed. Even when my hair is a bit knotted after getting out of the shower, this comb works really well to get them out, providing I split my hair into sections and comb my hair through really carefully.

When my hair has no knots, this comb glides through my hair effortlessly, and I often use this in the morning to put my hair up into a ponytail, as long as I am doing a loose one. It doesn't pull your hair up tight enough, like a paddle brush, for example, would. But it is great for just creating casual looks.

This comb does not look damaged at all apart for the chew marks at the bottom of the handle which my 1 year old has made in it! Apart from that there are no signs of wear and tear on this comb at all, you wouldn't know I have had it nearly five years and it works perfectly well still, and is such good quality, I can see it lasting me years to come. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one if I was to ever loose this one, at £2.79, this really is a great comb!
