I like to use a sponge in the shower as I find that my shower gels go further this way. This Boots Body Polishing Sponge costs just £1.99 but I actually bought it with my Boots points so it didn't cost me anything. It comes in blue and white and I bought the white one but this is just personal choice.
As well as cleansing your body these sponges also lightly exfoliate your skin and help to get rid of dead and dry skin cells. It feels quite soft and spongy to the touch and although it squashes down when you are using it, it always springs back to the same shape afterwards. A little shower gel or cream goes a long way with this sponge as when it seeps through the many layers and as you are rubbing the sponge on your body it seems to activate the lather to make more bubbles. You can feel the sponge as you rub your skin but it isn't harsh at all and it seems to glide over your skin with the lather.
When I have finished with the sponge I will just rinse it under the shower or tap and then leave it on my soap dish to dry and it does dry very quickly. I have had this particular sponge for about two months and it is as good as new. My previous one was a Boots sponge and I probably had it for around six months and decided to change it as it was looking a bit tired and not quite so spongy but it did have a good life. I have bought cheaper ones in the past and they have looked worse for wear quite quickly and I have experienced them unraveling as the cord which is tied tightly through the middle of the sponge has come loose.
This is a decent sized body sponge of good quality and when I use it I know that I am helping to look after my skin as best as I can. You can get cheaper ones but even if you pay the full price of £1.99 I think this is still a good price, and if you can get it free like I did then even better. This body sponge comes recommended by me and I would purchase one again
One of the items I always have in my bathroom is a nylon scrubber, and the one I am currently using is a white one which cost £1.99 at Boots. I'm not particularly loyal to the Boots brand when it comes to scrubbers, I just tend to pick up a new one from where ever is most convenient when the old one starts looking sorry for itself.
Essentially this is nylon mesh, scrunched up into a kind of ball, with a corded string that enables it to be hung up to drain after use. I use this wet, usually with a squirt of shower gel and use it to lather up. The nylon mesh is gently exfoliating, which helps to remove any dry dull skin, leaving my skin once I step out of the bath or shower looking healthy and glowing.
I find that I feel much cleaner using these than when I'm using a flannel or an ordinary sponge, which is why these are a bathroom essential. I also find that these make a little bit of my shower gel go a lot further, as I'm less heavy handed when using this, and find these very helpful in getting up a decent lather.
I find that in my household with three of us, one of these tends to last a 4-6 weeks before it starts to come apart slightly and need replacing. To be honest, I've tried lots of different brands of these, and (with the exception of one rather expensive brand) they all seem to last around the same length of time. In terms of quality, this Boots one is not much different than the ones I get in the supermarket, but it costs around the same so thats not a negative.
Overall, these are a handy product to have in the bathroom, especially for days when I feel the need for a really good scrub down. They leave my skin healthy and glowing, and leave me feeling really clean. 5 stars.

The product is called a Body Polisher Sponge and is made from what looks like a type of netting as it's a material with lots of holes in it which is bundled together. I have heard these being called Bath lilies before from The Body Shop. The product was purchased from Boots for £1.99 and is available in a range of different colours including white, green, blue and pink. I decided to purchase the white one. I purchased the product from my local Boots store, how-ever you can also purchase this online as well. I don't like the feel of sponges against my skin when in the shower, so I wanted to look for something else and this seemed like the perfect product. The product is a nice size and feels soft whilst it's dry so I imagined this would feel really soft against my skin when it was wet and lathered up with soap. There is a small piece of twisted rope attached to the product to ensure you can keep hold of it when using it in the shower. It states on the Boots website that this product is perfect for daily all over body cleansing in the bath or shower to gently exfoliate the skin and remove any dead skin cells. This sounded great as getting rid of dead skin cells meant brighter looking skin.
Using the Product

I got under the shower for a few minutes to ensure my skin was wet and then I used my normal shower product and dispensed a small amount onto the Body Polisher, I then rubbed this over my body gently, and as I did this the soap product started to lather up and created some lovely bubbles. The body polisher was easy to hold due to the twisted string which slips over your hand to enable you to hold it well. The body polisher felt soft against my skin but I could feel that it was giving my body a good scrub and I didn't feel harsh against my skin even in areas where I suffer from eczema. As I rubbed the body polisher against my skin I felt as though I was getting a very good clean. After using the body polisher I rinsed and squeezed it under the shower until it ran clear and was free from any soap. I then hung it up near the shower ready to use for next time. I always rinse the body polisher out after use and this lasts a good few months before I have to think about changing it for a new one.

I think this product is fantastic as it feels as though it's giving your body a really good clean and you can also feel is exfoliating your skin at the same time. In terms of value I think product is great value for money as it last's a good few months and comes in a range of different colours. After using this product I couldn't go back to using a sponge as it doesn't make my skin feel as clean of exfoliated as when using the Body Polisher. I find that no matter what soap product I use to wash with in the shower the body polisher helps to create a rich lather and lots of soap which gives the very clean feeling. I would highly recommend this product to others.
