Using eye-liner nearly every day I often have to sharpen the pencil to keep the tip from going blunt and flat. I have used other brands of sharpeners, how-ever they didn't do a very good job of sharpening the eye-liner or the top would end up breaking off of the eye-liner.
I went into my local boots store to do my usual monthly shop and came across the sharpener by Bourjois. The sharpener caught my eye because of the bright pink colour it was; how-ever I noticed that there were 2 sizes in the sharpener for different sized pencils which was really handy.
I bought the sharpener which cost me approximately £2.49 which I thought was very reasonable, considering the brand of make it was as I find Bourjois products quite pricey. My eye-liner pencil actually needed sharpening anyway so it's lucky that I found this sharpener when I was in boots.
The sharpener is made from a pink coloured plastic which stands out as it's quite bright. On the left hand side there is a hole in which normal standard sized pencils can go in and on the right the hole was larger which is probably for eye crayons. The sharpener was in the shape of a box and I noticed that over the top of the blade there was a plastic covering which can flip open.
I started to sharpen the eye-liner pencil and with just a few twists the pencil was sharpened and all the shavings had been collected underneath the plastic cover which flips open so you can empty it. I did find that because eye-liner pencils can be soft that it can sometimes leave the sharpener a little messy. I noticed where the holes are on the sharpener there is a small bit which stick out, I wasn't really sure what this was, so I pulled it, and out came a small plastic stick. This was great as it enabled me to clean in between the blade of the sharpener to keep it clean and from clogging up. The stick can then be wiped with a cloth and then slotted back into the hole.
I have had the sharpener over a year now and it still sharpens just as well as it did when I first purchased it. The sharpener is so simple to use and is easy to empty and clean with the help of the small stick which is provided. I give this product 5 out of 5 stars as it does everything it needs to and is reliable and good value.

Living with 3 girls often caused my male housemate to go absolutely crazy many, many times. There are obviously problems like us taking ages in the bathroom, tons of hair care products around and his space in the bathroom reduced to a minimum. We had our last friendly but loud discussion when I used his pencil sharpener to sharpen my eyeliner. Ok, I admit that this was not the best idea I ever had because my soft kohl pencil clogged the whole thing and it was rendered useless for quite a while.
After spending quite a while cleaning that stupid thing I decided that it was time to buy a proper eye pencil sharpener. I found one at Boots for 1.50 - the Bourjois Pencil Sharpener in a cute girly pink. Ok, to be honest I would have preferred a different colour but it is great for all the girly girls out there or for people like me who don´t really care about the colour.
The sharpener has two holes, one for normal sized and one for slightly bigger eyeliner or make-up pencils. I was very happy about the second option as I own a couple of glitter make-up pencils that are simply too big for most other sharpeners and had to be sharpened with a knife whenever I needed them. As I don´t use them regularly I never really thought about buying a specific sharpener just for them therefore I was very pleased to see the option included in the Bourjois Pencil Sharpener.
Both sharpener work very well and sharpen my eyeliner without problem. I have the impression that they are a bit sharper than normal pencil sharpener as these here never seem to clog even when I use my very soft kohl pencils. So far I have only ever broken two of my kajal while using the Bourjois Pencil Sharpener which, at least for me, is a good result as I´m often impatient and have them break easily with normal pencil sharpener.
The best thing about this sharpener is that it catches the sharpening in a little compartment on its underside. The lid of the compartment can be removed and all the stuff can be thrown away without creating a big mess. It is perfect for a night out, I hate leaving pencil sharpening all around me in the bathroom of a pub or club when I have to re-apply my eyeliner. Obviously my flatmate is quite pleased with that as well - he´s not too keen on using a bathroom that just screams "girly" and he never ever has to complain again about forgotten sharpening laying around in out bathroom.
I have absolutely nothing to complain about with the Bourjois Pencil Sharpener and can recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good quality eyeliner sharpener that doesn´t break the bank. 1.50 pounds is a good price for a good quality product and I would buy it again if it ever needs replacing.

Thank you for reading and rating my review!
I always, always wear black eyeliner and I look ill without it! I previously used a liner which needed sharpening, although I do now have a self sharpening liner which is brilliant. However, on nights out I do like to add a little colour to my eyes with liner, or I like to use my older black liners which are a bit thicker.
As you ladies will know, it doesn't take long for liners to go blunt and a decent eye pencil sharpener is hard to find.
I will admit, I did start to use a regular pencil sharpener when I was younger and more naive! This resulted in many ruined pencils and a very unhappy brother when he could no longer sharpen his pencils for college with the sharpener that I had clogged up with blobs of eye liner!
So, I set out to find a decent pencil sharpener. I decided on this sharpener from Bourjois because I regularly use their make up anyway and because it was pink! I then noticed that it had two holes, a small one for regular liners and a larger one for those few odd liners that you get that are big!
So, the sharpener is quite big, but will still fit in a make-up bag nicely. It is a pink colour but is see-through and so is very girly! It has a small hole and a larger hole, and has a removeable base to it which is a great idea. It catches the pencil sharpenings which means you can sharpen the liners anywhere, without having to worry about making a mess.
The sharpener produces a good result and has never broken any of my pencils, although I am quite gentle with them.
I have found that I can sharpen the pencils a few times before I have to empty the pot. It does catch most of the waste, however I like to clean the blades occasionally with a make-up wipe, just to keep it clean and effective.
The sharpener cost £1.50, however I had a voucher for £2 off Bourjois make-up, with no minimum spend, so it was a bargainous 0p!
So clearly, at 0p, it was always going to be a winner, but I would have happily paid £1.50, or even more as it has been so successful and has kept me a good supply of eyeliners, both thin and thick!
I bought mine from Boots but I am sure it is available for around £1-2 at any shop that stocks Bourjois make-up.
I had been looking for a good, but reasonably priced eye liner pencil for absolutely ages before I found this one! I literally used to just keep buying eye liner after eye liner when each one got blunt. Dont worry I never threw the blunt ones away, I just kept them at the bottom of my make up bag and occasionally sharpen them with a normal pencil sharpener which sharpened them a little, but definitely ruined the sharpener, but putting black blobs all over it and getting it all stuck in the blade.
I found this little Bourjois beauty in Tesco for an amazing £1.50!! I had to get it! I think it is now available for £2.00, which is still what I see as a bargain! I thought it looks too pretty to work well but boy was I wrong! It was something I had been looking for, for a while and had so many good points to it! I was made up! Heres why:
It is a dual pencil sharpener - two for the price of one!
Very reasonably priced - £1.50-£2.00... Brilliant!
It is made from Bourjois, which is a very well established and quality brand
It is pink!
It sharpens eye pencils really well - a good quality pencil sharpener
It even holds the pencil shavings - mess free!
I really can not think of any!
Since I have had this little beauty of a pencil sharpener I have revived so many of my eye liners I had at the bottom of my make up bag! I also feel like Im saving money from doing this not to mention time. Previously I used to get black blobs all over my fingers when sharpening my pencil, this sharpener allows you to sharpen your eyeliners mess free!
I really really would recommend you get this pencil sharpener... if you need one of course! I'd say it was definitely worth the price and was amazed at how well it worked! 10 out of 10 without a doubt!
