      A brush I was really impressed with

      =E.L.F. Foundation Brush=

      I have been changing my foundations over the last couple of years, trying to find what suits my skin, and I was advised that it might make a difference if I use a foundation brush.

      A friend gave me her spare brush, (brand new) and she had purchased it from the website www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. When I offered to buy it off her, expecting it to be £8+ she laughed and told me it only cost her £1.50 and I could have it. Thought great price.

      =The Brush=
      From tip to toe the brush is 16cm in length, it has a wooden handle, metal casing for the bristles, and these have a slight curve, I would say they take 2cm of the length of the brush.

      =To Use=
      I will be honest and say it felt weird, as I am so use to applying with a finger, or a sponge, but I found that I was more in control with the brush and that the foundation I actually used less with as this blended in well. It took a couple of tries to get the coverage even, but that is me as I am slightly stuck in my ways.

      =Products=
      I have used this with a liquid foundation, as well as a block foundation, which I felt worked better for me.

      =Would I recommend=
      I would highly recommend this brush, in fact now I won't apply foundation without a brush, it's like a whole new experience.

      == E.L.F Foundation brush ==

      Until recently I didn't even know what a foundation brush was , and was quite happy with the sponge wedge that I had been using. 2 things changed that , 1st was all the positive reviews on Dooyoo for a range of foundation brushes , and the other was I was having trouble finding a foundation with the right tone and coverage . I was going to buy one from from Boots or Superdrug , but a rummage in my cosmetic draw i came along this, still new and waiting to be used . I had bought this and lots of other stuff ages ago on special offer from www.eyeslipsface.co.uk . Even at full price this brush is only £1.50 which is an absolute bargain .

      == The Brush ==
      The brush is 16 cms long including bristles, i'ts a typical brush with a wooden handle and large metal casing around the bristles . The bristles are nearly 2 cms in width and have a slight curve .
      The brush is nice to hold and simple to use . So far I have had no bristle loss.

      == In Use ==
      I apply the foundation to the tip of the brush then dot under my eyes and along my nose , then use the brush in a upward stroke to blend in . Another few dots on forehead and cheeks and blend the same . I then give it a little wiggle along the jaw line , and hey presto done .
      It blends brilliantly , much better than a sponge , it feels nicer to use more like you are applying it on top of your skin rather than rubbing in it .
      So far i have used this with 2 different foundations an Olay touch of foundation [ a mix of foundation and moisturiser] and Max Factor lasting performance a more traditional full coverage foundation .
      Both gave excellent results, especially the Max Factor which i had stopped using as i found it too heavy and hard to blend , but with the brush its like a totally different foundation .

      == Thoughts ==
      Just buy one ! I can't believe what a difference it has to made to applying foundation and the finish it gives.

      Great purchase from elf yet again!

      I own two foundation brushes and it is something I swear by. Its one of those things that you don't think you need till you use one, (especially if its a good one of course!) and my first one cost me an arm and leg and is a Ruby & Millie one and since then I have invested in a Revlon one too. I didn't need actually need one when I was browsing on the e.l.f website recently owning two already but seeing as I had 50% off everything on the site and free postage and packing I popped one into my virtual shopping basket because I thought it looked great at £1.50 but even better at the price I paid for it which was 75p and it matched some other e.l.f brushes I was buying at the time!

      The Brush Itself:

      Comes in a see through plastic case which is great for keeping it in. The brush itself is ever so smart with a long white handle which is slim enough to hold with ease and then orangy coloured hairs/bristles that are reasonably thick and it is tapered off to the middle of it and very soft and natural feeling indeed to which the hair/bristles are really well secured into the handle by a silver steel section which adds to it looking really nice and down the side of the handle we are told that it is an e.l.f Foundation Brush.

      To use this you can simply apply anything liquid or moist onto the face with and ease and to do this you simply use the brush in upward strokes. I use this to apply foundation and tinted moisturiser and I find with this I use less product as I'm not rubbing it in, just gently painting it on sort of thing.

      This brush is easy to handle, easy to wash and clean with a little gentle baby shampoo or the likes and feels really great on the skin when in use. Add to that I've never had a hair or bristle come out of the brush at all when in use and that it really is a great, handy brush. You could even use this to blend moist blusher or bronzer into the cheeks and cheekbones if you want to!

      This may be cheap to buy (even at £1.50 a brush which is the full price) but it doesn't look it and doesn't feel it on the skin! A great little buy....but it you won't regret it I'm sure!

        An excellent offering from E.L.F

        During a recent 50% sale from E.L.F (www.eyeslipsface.co.uk) I decided to give a few new products a try. Never having had an proper make up brushes I decided I would give these a try, especially as I have come to be a huge fan of the mineral foundations. Now that I have been using it for a couple of months I thought it was about time I gave it a review.

        *~* Price and Availability *~*

        The regular price for this is just £1.50, with regular offers these can often be found a lot cheaper. An excellent bargain if you ask me, considering the price of some of the more expensive brands.

        It is only available from the E.L.F website in the UK, however in America it can be bought from various stores as well as online websites for around the world. It can definately be picked up but just to mention in addition to keep a look out in TKMaxx as sometimes the products can be found there for a little cheaper than online.

        *~* Packaging *~*

        The brush comes packaged in a transparentcase which some may wish to store the brush in to keep it clean, I however just keep mine within my make up box.

        *~* The Brush *~*

        It's very simple, around the length of a pencil. The handle is smooth and a pearly white colour, displaying E.L.F in silver writing. Around 3/4's of the way up around an inch of metal holds the bristles onto the wood. An orangey colour tinges the strands which are around an inch long (I cannot give exact measurements) and are not as I would have expected to be the same length, there is a sort of point to them which is rather useful.

        *~* My Experience *~*

        My skin has a lot of problems and so when I found the mineral powder it became my answer to solving them. This brush in particular helped to further achieve and even skin tone by applying the powder probably a little thicker than most would like. The bristles are soft and flexible but they are tightly packed, there is nothing thin about it at all.

        It is gentle on the skin and easily applies my powder evenly although it only covers a smaller area rather than a large area. It is a flat brush but I find this means it applies the powder evenly to the skin without getting it everywhere.

        I have been using it a couple of months and I have yet to wash it as it is still really clean and not at all clogged but then again I haven't been using a cream so it may have to be washed more often if using one of those.

        *~* Overall *~*

        Overall I am super happy with this brush, it is exceptional value for money, there has been no shedding or any problems with this brush at all which I am super happy about. Especially considering that I paid just 75p!! I definately will be buying more from the range especially when there is a sale on. Most definately recommended and I award this 5 stars! I would do give it more if I could.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A good quality foundation brush from E.L.F.

        I had never really used foundation brushes before, and previously just used my fingers and hands to apply foundation to my face, as I felt that this was the best method. When ordering various items from E.L.F (eyes lips face), I decided to throw in a foundation brush as it was only a bargain £1.50, and I thought it would be a good starter for learning how to apply foundation with a brush.

        I was extremely happy with the price of it, but because of it I was not expecting great results from the brush itself. When it arrived it looked as shown in the image, yellow bristles and a white handle with e.l.f foundation brush written on it. It is is not the most aesthetically pleasing make up brush, and it does look a little cheap, however nobody particularly pays attention to your make up brush, and I was not going to let its looks put me off. If it did the job for £1.50, I would be completely happy.

        I was impressed by the bristles on this brush, as they are not too hard and they are not too soft. They are just the perfect texture for applying foundation to the face smoothly. Another thing which I noticed is that the bristles do not fall out either, which I know can be quite a big deal to other people.

        To use it, you simply get a little of your foundation on to the end of your brush and pat into various areas of your face, and use the brush to smoothen it up and run the foundation all over the face neatly. This brush is effective at doing this, and does not leave you skin uneven and patchy, however the bristles can get a bit hard when you have exposed them to a large amount of foundation, and this can start to be a nightmare towards the end of your application. However, considering I was a beginner at using foundation brushes, I think this was a great bargain brush to help learn the best ways of applying make up with brushes, and it has helped me improve massively over time.

        Because of the brush getting dirty and the bristles becoming hard quite easily, I would recommend washing this brush regularly to get the maximum performance out of it. This can be done with baby shampoo or brush cleaner which is also available from eyes lips face. A good thing about the brush is that it does wash through quickly and you do not have to spend a long time trying to force out bits of foundation from within it.

        Overall, I am fairly satisfied with this foundation brush, as it does everything which it claims to do, and really does help when applying foundation. Best of all, you are hardly breaking the bank when purchasing it! I must admit that there are some better quality brushes out there if you are a bit of a brush snob, but I will be sure to check out some of E.L.F's other brushes as I was quite impressed with this one, especially for the price which I paid! Thanks for reading.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        Great brush, would highly recommend.

        I purchased this brush along with E.L.F eyelid primer and the bronzer/blusher brush (see my other reviews which evaluate these). I usually apply foundation with my fingers, but found that it got very messy when applying my makeup because I would touch all my other products with the foundation on my hands. Hence I decided to buy a foundation brush so that I could apply my liquid foundation without using my hands. I just wanted to try this out so thought i'd start off trying out a cheap brush, at £1.50 this product was a perfect choice.

        The delivery of my products was extremely quick, it only took one working day to arrive and E.L.F text me (free of charge) to let me know when my goods had been despatched. When the brush arrived, I thought it looked good, not cheap at all, it came within a plastic cover, so the brush could be kept in the case within my makeup bag without getting dirty. The brush is very flat with a pointy tip.

        I apply the foundation by firstly squeezing a blob of it onto the back of my hand, I then dab the brush into the liquid and apply it to my face in small strokes. I find that when I use this brush I use less foundation, it also gives great flawless coverage and helps to blend the foundation into my neck so that there isn't that horrible line separating the face/neck area. The pointy tip allows easy access to awkward areas such as at the sides of the nose and cupids bow at the top of the mouth.

        The brush is very easy to clean, I either apply makeup remover to it and wipe off with a cotton wool pad or I use baby shampoo to wash with water. Both methods clean the brush from product very easily and the foundation does not overly stick to the brush.

        Overall I give this item 5 stars. It is of excellent value and gives me sheer foundation coverage. Would highly reccommend.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A cheap, useful brush for foundation and concealer.

        Elf (aka Eyes Lips Face) are a company which has crossed the pond from the States offering very affordable, but often really great, makeup products. The fun thing about Elf is that everything is just £1.50, which makes me feel better about buying one of everything!

        I have only placed one Elf order so far, and purchased three of their brushes. So far it is 1-1 in the Good vs Bad stakes, the eyeshadow brush being brilliant, and the lip brush being a huge flop. So this is the decider, Elf's foundation brush.

        The brush, like the rest of the range, is plain to look at - a white handle stating which type of brush it is and bristles held in place by a silver band. They definitely don't look cheap, but are rather plain and functional which is fine by me because it is just a brush after all. Brushes aren't supposed to be pretty.

        The bristles on the foundation brush are about 3/4 in wide by 1 inch long, and the familiar yellow of many foundation or concealer brushes.

        When I first got this brush, I wasn't actually using a foundation that needed to be applied with a brush, as it was the summer and I tended to go bare-faced or, very occasionally, use tinted moisturiser. So at the start of its life I was mostly using it to apply concealer, which I must say despite its size it did a good job of.

        The bristles are springy, not too hard, not too soft, just right. I was using Elf's All Over Cover Stick concealer, which I still love, and it is quite a wide twist-up stick, which gets quite messy so it's easiest to apply with a brush. I can pick up a small amount and get reasonably good precision with this brush. The thing I like most about it is that it is easy to blend out foundation/concealer and make buffing motions into the skin, even though it's a flat brush which you wouldn't think would lend itself to this type of application.

        I now use Dream Matte Mousse and find it works very well with this brush, I am able to pick up just the tiny amount needed and blend perfectly where needed. I like to lay the brush flat onto the product and gently press so I can brush on a nice thin layer to blend rather than having to even out dots of product dabbed onto the skin.

        While I haven't used the product with a liquid foundation, I think it would probably work pretty well if the foundation was applied to the back of the hand and applied with the brush, although the bristles may have a tendency to "eat up" the product, making you use more than you would like.

        I must admit I don't have the best brush hygiene, the brush never really feels dirty so I don't wash it as often as I should. It's nice that it doesn't feel gungy but I should probably adopt better practise in this regard! When I do get around to it, it is easy to clean and dries quickly.

        As is true of all Elf's products, besides the new mineral makeup line, this brush costs just £1.50. It is available individually or as part of a set. It is undoubtedly fantastic value for money and I would definitely recommend it if you use a mousse/more solid foundation, especially as it works well for concealer so saves carrying around several brushes if you're travelling.

        So there's the decider! 2-1 in Elf's favour, their brushes are really great. I will be furthering the experiment with my next order..

        To buy the brush and check out the rest of the range, head to www.eyeslipsface.co.uk to take a peek. Delivery is SUPER fast but be warned it's very hard to leave without buying something at those prices!
