Easy Vision Multi Purpose Solution
I have been using contact lenses now for nearly a year and because I subscribed to Specsavers monthly prescription lenses the solution that you receive with your three months supply is this Easy Vision multi Purpose Solution.
As I pay £10 per month for my prescription Specsavers send out every three months three bottles of this solution along with six contact lenses (3 pairs) which will last me for the following three months. The three bottles of solution actually always last me longer than the said three months and I have already started getting somewhat of a stockpile.
The solution comes in large bottle, which contains 250ml. There is an expiry date on each bottle but this usually gives a good couple of years before the solution has to be used up. The bottle is a white plastic bottle which is a shame as is doesn’t allow you to see how much is left inside but I am pretty good at being able to tell due to the weight. There is a screw top lid on the bottle, which is green in colour and has a seal that should only be broken by you on first use. The cap unscrews easily and then the solution is released by a small hole that you need to actually squeeze the bottle to get the solution out at any kind of speed.
This solution is for use with soft contact lenses only as I do believe the solution for hard ones does differ somewhat. As I say I get these three bottles of solution with my £10 per month order but you can order them from the Specsavers shop or online for £12.99 pence for the three bottles. This I think is a fairly good price as the solution does last a long while.
I use the solution every time I use my contact lenses, which is getting less and less now I have purchased a rather trendy pair of glasses but I still keep the prescription going so I can choose to wear either my glasses or the lenses. The solution is used for both cleaning the lenses before use and for storing the lenses in the plastic lens holder over night.
To clean the lenses the directions for use is that you wash and dry your hands carefully before putting the lens into the palm of your hand and them dropping a few drops of this solution on top of the lens. You then need to rub gently both sides of the lens to clean off any dirt for about 15 to 20 seconds. This is all pretty basic stuff and is very easy to do.
The solution itself is clear like water and has absolutely no fragrance. This could actually be tap water in a bottle and no one would be any the wiser. The ingredients on the back say only polyhexanide 0.0001% but god only knows what that is! You are meant to discard the bottle after 3 months of opening but I think I would have usually used up the bottle in this amount of time.
I have had no problems at all when using this Easy vision Multi Purpose Solution and I will continue to use it for as long as it is available for my contact lenses.
I think I may however stop my monthly direct debit as this I think works out more expensive than if you were to place a one off order on the Specsavers website. This is the most common form of soft lens solution as Specsavers are the leading supplier across the country
