If you have never tried body brushing, you should think about giving it a go as it is a great way of gently exfoliating the skin. A soft bristled brush swept over the skin removes dead skin cells and improves circulation. ~Appearance~ This natural boar bristled body brush has a pale wood handle, and the head is slightly tilted that I find makes it more comfortable to hold. The handle/head is solid and strong which I like. Some brushes can have plastic handles which can crack and break over time. The bristles are pale and packed close together, firm enough to do the job but soft enough not to hurt - I am very skin sensitive so am always careful with my skin and need to make sure the products I use are gentle enough. In the end of the handle is a hole with a thick cord of thread through to allow the brush to be hung up out the way. (I find this very useful mainly as I am great at putting things down and then forgetting where I put them!) ~Use~ The large head of the brush means you get good coverage and so it does not take long to go over the whole body. With body brushing it is recommended to start at the feet and work your way up to the heart in soft circular motions. At your arms and chest you work from fingers to shoulders and from neck down. The bristles are soft enough that it feels like a massage for the skin and gives you a lovely tingly feeling at the end of it. Some say it can help to break up cellulite and other toxins that settle in the body, whether that is true I don't know. I never really pay any attention to any cellulite I have. But it DOES help the circulation as I have bad circulation in my hands and feet and using this once a week does help to relieve it. I prefer not to use this right after a shower though as the skin is already soft and more sensitive. Instead I use this before a shower to shed dead cells and give my skin a warm "glow" feeling then get into the shower. ~Cleaning~ Using a comb to brush through the bristles helps to remove skin flakes and then a usual clean with warm water and maybe a small amount of shampoo massaged into the bristles. The wooden handle is smooth and can just be wiped down. I recommend not soaking as it can eventually ruin the handle. Allow to dry completely. ~Price~ I received mine in a gift basket with other items, however I have seen this product from between £3 - £5. Though I believe Amazon is selling for £3.00. It's a good quality product and well worth the money as it's strong and sturdy and will last! ~Summary~ A lovely product, soft, enjoyable and great as part of your body care routine.
