Previously I didn't wear strapless dresses very frequently, because I just wasn't comfortable in them; they always felt like they were going to slip down and leave me in an embarrassing situation, so I'd spend most of the evening constantly tugging them up. However, when I found the perfect dress for my university's end of year ball, it was strapless. A friend therefore suggested that I try body tape. I went straight out to Boots to buy some, but made the mistake of going for the cheaper option (well, I am a student!) I found this didn't work at all, and so my friend sent me back out with a much clearer idea of what to buy, and I came back with Eyelure tape.
The pack from Boots cost me £4.90, and came with 27 pieces. This seemed a little steep to me, but given that I don't use it very often, I'm willing to pay a bit more. I think I'll only use this tape twice a term at the maximum, so the pack should last me for the rest of my time at university. The tape comes in two different shapes, 15 rectangular and 12 curved, so it is suitable for a range of different clothing types. I find two pieces across my chest holds a full length dress up, but I tend to use four, with two pieces going under the arms as well, just to give me a bit more security and peace of mind.
The packaging is very elegant, being a slim white cardboard pocket, with black writing, and a figure on the front with a purple dress. The simple design and colour scheme gives it an air of sophistication, and because the packaging is small, it is very easy to store.
The main question of course, is does it do the job? And the answer is most definitely yes. The tape held up a full length strapless dress for 9 hours. However, I've found it only lasts this long when you're sedately walking or sitting for most of that time. If you're at a more energetic party and are dancing, it tends to pull off a bit. Of course, if you were using the tape just to hold fabric in place, rather than bearing the weight of the dress, it should be fine for any length of time.
The only problem I have with this tape is getting it off. It's not too difficult removing it from fabric, but it really clings to skin. I have had one incident where I was dancing and stood on the hem of my dress, pulling it a bit, and the tape took away part of my skin with it, which was quite unpleasant! Thankfully I didn't bleed, so my dress was fine, but I did have an ugly scratch across my chest. Even getting it off normally is quite painful, and leaves red marks on my skin, so it's not good if you want to wear a similar dress soon afterwards. I have heard that using baby-oil will soften the tape and make it easier to remove, so I might try that next time.
Overall, this tape is the best I have found for keeping strapless dresses in place for long periods of time. The downside of that however, is that the tape is very difficult to remove. So although it does the job promised excellently, I'm going to have to deduct a star for the pain it's caused me!
Up until probably about eighteen months ago I had always thought that body tape was something that only celebs or supermodels wore but for my birthday last year some of my family and I made the decision to go to the Sugarhut in Essex and I was wearing a strapless dress. Having been "blessed" with large boobs I wanted something to just hold my dress in to place to keep me feeling secure and so I looked on amazon for something to help me out. It was there I came across the eylure body tape and this is my review of it.
The eylure body tape comes in a small cardboard packaging which has the brand and the product name on the front as well as a model of a lady wearing quite a low cut top. We are told on the packaging that this body tape is ideal for keeping clothing under control, comes in two shapes for fashion versatility and is also hypoallergenic.
With this product you get twenty seven pieces of body tape which are pre shaped for maximum versatility. You get fifteen which are straight pieces and twelve which are slightly curved as well. You could of course cut them down some more if needs be but I haven't had the need to do this personally.
The tape strips come attached together with a perforation and so when you want them you just strip them off at the seams. They have a white paper backing which has two sides to it and they come together in the middle which makes them really easy to remove them when you want to use them.
What you need to do with these strips is attach them to your clothes or your body depending on what works best for you. I find it actually depends on what outfit I am wearing on the way that I use these strips. More often than not though I will apply it to my clothes first and then remove the backing from the tape and then position it on to my body where I need it to hold. You do have a little lee way in terms of pulling it off and reapplying it but I don't like to do this because I find that it reduces the length of time that the tape holds your clothes in place if you do it too often.
The tape isn't uncomfortable at all to wear and really you don't notice it is there once you are fully dressed and out and about. I have used it to hold up strapless dresses and also to hold a one shouldered dress in place as well and it has worked well on all the occasions I have used it. I don't like it when dresses ride down too low and this just keeps them in a perfect place for me even if I am dancing around like a lunatic or whatever! It would be great for using with a top with a deep V for example where you couldn't wear a bra but I daren't go bra-less with my boobs! It does hold things in place very well though in terms of clothing and I have no complaints at all.
When it comes to removal sometimes it is really easy and painless and other times it isn't as simple! Sometimes it will pull off with your clothes at the end of the night and this is the nicest way of removal but when it is on your skin at the end of the night it can sometimes sting a little as you rip it off but only in the same way as removing a plaster for example. It just tends to be that I have it on my boobs which is obviously quite sensitive an area. It certainly isn't enough to put me off using the product though because it works well for my needs.
I've always bought this tape from amazon and have had a few packets now. It costs £3.60 on amazon but is now only available as an add on item where you have to spend £10 before you can order it which is a shame. You can buy it in Boots for £4.60 though which is another option should you be interested in purchasing it. I think it is a good product and can just help give you that extra confidence that everything will stay in place for special occasions or nights out for example.
Thank you for reading my review!
I have read many articles about celebrities who have / do use body tape (or 'tit tape', to use the slightly more vulgar term) but I never thought I would personally have the need to use the stuff myself. That is until I was invited to a friend's 40th birthday bash recently and although I had eventually found the perfect dress, I just couldn't find a bra I was happy with.
The dress was a strapless affair, low cut, and the front part is shaped rather unusually so that any and every bra I tried on just looked 'wrong' somehow. Either the bra was showing too much or if it wasn't showing under the dress, then it just wasn't perking my boobies up sufficiently. This went on for some weeks until eventually I was starting to panic thinking I'd have to either look for a different dress, go braless or just show off my underwear on the night!
I was moaning to a friend about my predicament when she suggested Eyelure Body Tape. At first I admit I wasn't to keen on the idea - I don't even like to use plasters for goodness sake, I hate the feel of them on my body, especially when it comes to removing them afterwards - yuk! I just hate the way they make my skin feel as I peel them off - it send shivers down my spine.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I went to Boots and bought myself a box of Eyelure Body Tape for £4.75. The box contained 27 pre-cut strips, some of which were curved and some were rectangular. I liked the fact that they were already pre cut as it meant I didn't have to mess about with scissors.
I followed the instructions to the letter, ensuring my body was oil free and completely dry - no talc or perfume either, ladies, or the stick just won't stick properly and you'll embarrass yourself if your dress falls down mid-dance.
The strips are double sided and are very very strong - I was very impressed at how sticky they actually were. It took a bit of practice before the big night, and I spent a long time beforehand sticking the bits to my boobies and the other side to my dress, ensuring I got the look 'just right' so that I wouldn't need to spend too long on the actual night of the birthday party.
As I say, it took a few trial goes but eventually I got it right and on the night I was very impressed that I was able to go bra-less but my boobies were perfectly pert and the dress moulded around them great without a sign of a bra peeking out!
I received many compliments that night and I was very pleased and happy with the overall look. The tape was fairly comfortable throughout the whole of the evening and once I had had a couple of glasses of wine I was even able to forget I was wearing it and was able to relax.
When I got home that evening I still found it a bit uncomfortable having to remove the tape - not because it was painful, but just because I have a bit of a 'thing' about sticky stuff on my skin. The tape left a few red marks where it had stuck to my skin but it wasn't sore and didn't irritate me at all.
I can really recommend Eyelure Body Tape. I have even used it since to keep my hold up stockings in place. The elastic was starting to go at the top of a pair I had and I had no clean tights for work. I simply affixed a few strips to the front and the back of the tops of both stockings and they stayed up all day - no bother at all.
I really do recommend this product. It does what it says on the box. It strong, and reliable and very discreet but I still refuse to call it 'tit tape', as it just sounds wrong, and anyway, it's not just for boobies!
I don't wear revealing outfits (honest) but there are times for a little extra reassurance you need to tape it all in, just in case! I have tried normal double sided tape from my craft box, but it was incredibly tricky to use and ended up all rippled and stuck to various different bits of fluff before it got any where near my skin!! Therefore I decided to splash out on the real deal and spent £5 on this from New Look.
This body tape is very easy to use. It comes curved, which fits body shapes better. It has been cut into individual curves, about 12 cm long. Each curve of tape is backed onto white plastic backing. The backing folds in the middle so you can take off one side at a time. This makes it much easier to apply, and therefore eliminates all the problems I described above.
The tape is really sticky and holds to skin and clothes well and easily. It easily lasts a whole night. The tape does not irritate skin either, it is a very mild material.
Some practise needs to occur with the tape but this is more to get the positioning right, but it does inevitably mean that you end up wasting a bit of tape before getting it right.
You definitely pay for ease of use with this product, because when you see actually how much tape you get you realise this is extremely over priced. I only use it very occasionally, so the price isn't too important to me. If I used this daily the price would soon add up.
This product was a lifesaver for me!
Recently going on a all-girl holiday to ibiza, I was in need of a product like this. Wearing strappy and revealing dresses, I was in desperate need of this body tape! One dress in particular was a multi-wrap, hot pink bandage dress. It looked gorgeous on, but it was incredibly hard to keep in place... What made it even worse was the fact that a bra practically ruined the shape and form, even a strapless one didn't do it justice. So after struggling to find numerous ways of handling the situation, it eventually led me to buy body tape.
It was the perfect solution. It held all my bits in (avoiding embarrassment) and made me feel confident and care-free all night ! The strips were pretty strong, and they surprisingly stayed put all night, even through the dancing! The body tape was quite hard to put on at first, especially as I bite my nails (cringe), so I had to ask a friend to peel the double sided layer off for me as my short nails were not an advantage to the situation.
You also have to be aware to not apply the tape on wet or oily skin. I had some trouble at one time putting it on, I think it was down to having put tanning oil on previously and traces were left on my skin. On the back of the packet it says as follows 'Before applying the Body Tape ensure skin is clean, dry and free from moisturisers, oils, fragrances and powders'.
Because of the packet being so small I was worried it wouldn't last very long, but for me I thought it was ok. I used about 6 strips altogether for this pink dress, and you get about 27 strips altogether in a pack. You also get two different shaped strips which can help positioning garments in suitable ways.
I bought the tape from boots and thinking at the time it was pretty expensive. Around £4-£5 it is at the expensive side, but it is an investment worth making if you saves you embarrassment of this kind! If the price really is an issue, you can find cheaper versions available on ebay!
One of my wardrobe must haves for a night out. Along with party feet and clothing obviously!
I recently brought a gorgeous dress for Royal Ascot Races which was backless (I was in silver ring so its acceptable). The only problem with having the cut out back was that it sometimes fell forward when I leaned over and revealed a little too much. I sat with my friends debating just using double sided tape or even just wear a bra with it but obviously those options were out the window.
Luckily I came across this in Superdrugs the day before we were due to go and it was worth the shot to see what happened.
The pack comes with 27 pre-cut bits of sticky tape costing about £3 and it is specially made to stick to your skin and your clothes - keeping you tucked away and safe!
The minute I got home I tried on the dress and applied a bit of tape to either side of myself, on my ribcage. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it stuck to my clothing as I was half expecting it to end up stuck to my skin alone.
The product claims to be 'Body Tape' which is strong enough to attach itself to all types of clothing and skin. One of the main advantages is that it cuts out mess by giving you strips of tape big enough to hold you in, but small enough to be discreet. The strips could be used to hold up stockings, cover cleavage, help hold up arms of a top/dress if they tend to fall down, etc. It does a number of things!
When I went to Ascot, it managed to stay in place all day and I even got complimented on how well the dress stayed in place - what were my secrets?!
The strips don't feel uncomfortable at all. Obviously when you first apply it to your skin you know its there, but after a while it goes un-noticed. When you peel it off it gives a slight red mark but that disappears quickly.
I would highly recommend you make these an addition to your bedroom, as no night out is complete without some!
Over the years there have been many occasions when I have bought an outfit which looks amazing when I try it on in the changing room of a shop but I get home and realise that there is something not practical about it when you actually wear it or move around causing major disappointment. For example the neckline may gape exposing areas of your body you do not want exposed or the outfit might just not lie as intended when you move around. But then I discovered Body Tape, basically doubled sided adhesive tape which keeps your clothes where you want to position them and the best example of this is Eylure Body Tape.
***Eylure Body Tape Strips***
The Eylure Body Tape Strips are basically pre-cut strips of body tape which will hold clothes in place onto your skin. For those that have not experienced this type of product it is basically double sided sticky tape for your body (and also goes by the name of "tit tape!") . There are rectangular pieces (15 pieces) and curved shaped pieces (12 pieces)
The strips are available online from www.eylure.co.uk. A pack of 27 pieces cost £4.49. They are also available from Boots and Superdrug. However I have found that a large number of Boots stores are no longer stocking these products despite the strips being available online. Therefore if you want to purchase on the high-street, Superdrug are more likely to stock them.
***Application and Experience***
When applying any body tape you do need to ensure that it is being applied to dry clean skin otherwise it will not stick. If you have recently applied moisturiser it will not stick to skin it will just slide off. I always wipe area of skin I am applying to with a face or body wipe then wipe with a dry cloth to ensure my skin is perfectly dry and clean. I then firstly apply the tape to the area I want the item to stick to. Therefore I peel the off this side of the tape first for the tape to stick to my skin. I then check where I want to item of clothing I want positioned. Once I have selected this I them peel this side of the tape off and fix the item of clothes to the sticky side of the tape and apply some pressure. The size of the strips are about 1.5cm wide and 4cm long (rectangular) and 1.5cm wide and 5cm long (curved).
Because the strips are pre-cut not only does this make the Eylure tape more convenient than other brands I also feel it makes it more effective. When you have a roll of body tape you need to take care when cutting strips of the tape not to touch the exposed side of the tape. With the Eylure tape both sides are covered by a peel off strip meaning you do not have to touch the sticky tape until you are actually fixing it onto your skin.
The tape can be used for various purposes. For example taping on a top when you are wearing no bra and you do not want to expose yourself when you lean forwards. It can also be used when wearing a strapless top and you can use the tape to fix the dress to your bra. I have also used it when wearing fancy dress costumes to fix to the bottoms of dresses to stop them riding up, on the top of stockings to stop them falling down. I have also used the tape on my stomach to stop clothes that are slightly too large to look more fitted and stop them from looking visibly too large.
I usually find when using the body tape that I am applying to my skin and then to an item of clothing in order to stop myself exposing parts of my body. On the occasions I have used this tape and required an item to stay in place all day the tape has allowed the garment to stay in place extremely securely. These occasions tend to be summer weddings and although I have been warm this has not affected how well the Eylure Body Tape keeps the garment in place. With some brands of body tape I have found that once I get hot the tape starts to peel and needs reapplying.
I have also used the tape to stick a garment to another garment. For example sticking a strapless dress to a bra to prevent me from having to constantly pull the dress up. On these occasions I have found the Eylure tape to be extremely effective and allows clothes to stay in place all day.
Removing the tape is just like removing a sticking plaster. It is easier to do if you wet the tape when it is on the skin then pull it off (quickly in order not to prolong any discomfort). On more sensitive areas of the body it does hurt doing so (so be aware of this when you apply!). Although it does not leave a red mark on the skin I have found that if I have been wearing false tan the strip takes some of this tan off and you are left with a lighter mark where the strip has been. You may also be left with a slight sticky residue however this is easily removed with a face or body wipe.
Eylure Body Tape a product that I consider to be an essential in my beauty bag. The pre-cut strips make this very convenient to have in a bag if you suffer an outfit malfunction. The different shaped strips also make these very convenient and versatile.
Performance wise I would definitely rate the Eylure Body Tape to be the best body tape I have found. The strips hold items in place on your skin all day, whereas other brands start peeling away from your skin and need reapplying after around 6 hours. The only downside to this is that you do suffer some discomfort removing the sticky Eylure strips. However I am sure most females would agree you sometimes have to suffer in the name of beauty!
Well let me tell you girls, I was struggling for idea's to keep my rather low cut, but oh-so-diving new dress from flapping open and revealing rather too much to the congregation at my friend's impending wedding. My beautiful new dress was a silk halter neck that was very loose at the front and tended to part down the middle if a breeze blew me from the side, or I leaned over. Not very appropriate at the best of times, and I certainly didn't want to upstage the bride!
After scouring the shops and asking advice on how to keep my modesty in tact, I was shown a pack of body tape. After paying for my item I went home and tried the product out.
I wasn't keen on the idea of sticking tape to myself, but when i opened the packet at took out the contents I realised that actually this looked pretty fool proof. And it worked. Yay!
Basically, you get a lot of tape for your money that is per- cut in curves to fit the contours of your bosoms. You pull the backing off one side and stick it where you need to, then carefully peel the other side off and place the material of your top or dress onto that in the position you desire. And there you go, a like a double sided sticky tape, but thinner and stickier. And totally undetectable too.
It is pretty easy to use, however I must stress, make sure you know where you want to stick it becasue getting it off it messy if you wish to adjust the tape.
Needless to say, at the wedding, I wore my dress with confidence and didn't have to worry about giving the vicar an eyeful!
This is one of the few products that Ive reviewed that I dont think anyone should be without regardless of gender because until I found this I was having terrible trouble with a certain dress. My mom bought me a gorgeous dress in the sales at Christmas - one from Jane Norman that Id had ym eye on for quite some time however when I put it on I was horrified to find there was more or less no way I could wear it with a bra. I just wouldnt feel comfortable going clubbing in a dress that barely covers me and I think I would have been constantly checking my dress hadnt fallen down and everything was on show so much so that I wouldnt have enjoyed the night so this dress sadly started gathering dust in my wardrobe until about a month ago when I discovered this along with a bra I could actually wear with it!
Price: Around 3.00 - 27 Pre cut pieces of tape.
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug & Amazon.
For: Keeping clothes EXACTLY where they should be so you never need worry about gaping or having bits fall out while dancing (HEHE!). This tape is said to be kind to both skin and delicate clothes and will not leave behind any marks on either. It's marketed as a fashion accessory that no-one should be without.
"Body Tape" really is a fancy way of saying double sided sticky tape because in reality that is exactly what this is although slighly stronger and stickier. The strips are already pre-cut in this pack into normal straight strips so you can apply them wherever you need I personally used these a) to keep the bra in place to stop it from riding over the cut of the dress and b) to keep the dress in place as it was slightly to large on the chest area! But Ive seen people use these on their shoulders for tops that fall down there and to ensure their dresses dont ride up. Ive even used them for keeping up hold up stockings on a night out so they can be used for quite a few things - very versatile.
I have to admit I wasnt entirely confident when I went out wearing this tape with my dress as I didnt think it would be strong enough to hold everything in place but to my surprise it really did. It ensured the bra didnt ride up over the dress and my dress stayed put all night long with no slipping at all. Thank god! I also assumed this would really hurt to take off and leave a mark but in reality it didnt at all it peels off really easily with no pain at all and although it does leave a slight red mark that soon disappears so really Im very impressed with this tape and it is something I will never be without a pack of before a night out as everyone seems to steal them!
They dont feel uncomfortable or overlly sticky at all, they just keep everything in place and dont hurt to take off the next morning. Definitely a beauty bag essential for me and Im just happy I got my dress out and about! Highly recommended.

One of the things that really bugs me in life is that you see certain products everywhere, but when you actually need one of them, they're impossible to find.
This was one of them.
I had a wedding to attend a few weeks ago and I had a strapless dress that I really wanted to wear. I had only worn it once before and the damn thing kept falling down, but I was determined to wear it this time. I thought of many things. Safety pins, sewing my bra to my dress and even taking the dress in but there was little time.
I remembered something I had heard about and seen around... boob tape! There are many strange and wonderful names for this stuff.
So the search began. It was available online but I didn't have the time to order as the wedding was only a day away.
I took a trip into town and starting hunting high and low. after about an hour of checking every possible shop, I came across a few different types. The first was a little packet of this stuff in Claire's Accessories. To be honest though, the strips were tiny and not worth the £3.99 they were asking. It looked a little to flimsy and I just didn't think it would do the job.
On to Anne Summers... I found a big roll of it here, 10 metres for £10.00. Again the actual width of the tape was very thin and I wasn't keen on spending that much money on a product that I was unsure would work.
After more and more searching, I tried Boots, and that heavens I did. This is where I came across the pack of Eylure Body Tape.
It was £4.00 but it seemed to offer a lot more for the money, the strips were nice and thick and seemed to be higher in quality. It was the last packet on the peg so I snatched it up.
Each pack contains 27 pieces. There are 15 rectangular pieces about the size of a standard plaster, and 12 contoured pieces of the same size. The contoured ones would be useful to line up with the shape of certain styles of clothing.
I was still unsure it would work. It seemed too good to be true that these bits of tape would be able to hold a dress in place all day. When I got home, I tried them, and much to my amazement, they worked! An absolute miracle.
Body Tape is basically double-sided sticky tape. It can be used to either attach clothing to skin, or attach clothing to clothing. I used 3 pieces to attach the inside of my dress to my bra. I took a few spare strips with me just incase, but there was really no need.
At the end of the night, when I came to get undressed, I undid the zip on my dress and even then it didn't budge. It was also easy to remove and left no marks or damage to my clothing.
If clothing does need to be attached directly to the skin it's nice to know that these are hypoallergenic, so it's very unlikey that these strips will cause any irritation. Skin also needs to be clean and free from perfume, moisturisers, powders and oils as this will prevent the tape from sticking effectively.
This is one of the very few products I have ever used that I have been 100% happy with. It has by far exceeded my expectations and I will continue to use it.
This is the ideal way to avert a fashion disaster.Body Tape will prevent embarrassing gaping by keeping clothing exactly where you want them. Pre cut and shaped for immediate use, they are kind to skin and delicate clothing. Very easy to use and remove they are the one fashion accessory no girl should be without. From beautiful eyes to creating sheer lines no fashion or beauty addict can be without them / Box Contents; 27 x Pre shaped body tape strips
