Advantages: Look gorgeous!

Disadvantages: Expensive, difficult to apply,

*intro*

In the past year I have become increasingly obsessed with fake eyelashes. Whenever I have the chance to wear some on a night out I go for it. Not only does it enlarge your eyelashes, it makes your makeup look bolder, more defined and dramatic (If done correctly that is)! And these brand of lashes in particular has been one of my favourite buys.

I'm not sure if I picked up these 'Cheryl' edition eyelashes because of the actual lashes themselves, I think the main appeal was because at the time she was my favourite member of Girls Aloud. These lashes looked a lot more dramatic than some of the other available in GA the collection, so these are definitely not suited for a natural/daytime look.

*application*

I have always found applying eyelashes extremely difficult, especially the first couple of times. Before you do anything you need to read the instruction carefully, you don't want any accidents as eyelash glue can be fatal! I have known a few people having allergic reactions from the glue as well, so you need to be extra aware the first couple of times you wear any eyelashes.

The band on these eyelashes were quite thick, meaning that there is more to grip for the glue, and it also gives a nice effect of making it look like you're wearing eyeliner. They bend quite easily, and the lashes are soft and light to touch. I didn't use the glue provided in the set, as I use my own, so I can't comment on this aspect. In general however I have always found glue provided in these sets to be quite watery and weak, making them extremely hard to apply and lasting a fraction of the time of a decent glue.
When putting a small line of glue along the band of the fake lashes (never attempt to put glue on your own eyes first- disaster!), it is also best to wait about 20 seconds to let the glue set slightly. This makes it easier to stick them to your own lashes.

The most successful way I have found to apply a lash is to start with the outer corner and hold down a few seconds firmly, then using tweezers (or a cocktail stick) pat down the rest of the lash across the curve. Trying to attach the lash all at once can sometimes lead to wonkiness or messiness!

*extra tips and tricks*

-Tweezers are a must. It makes it so much easier to handle and to position, instead of using your fingers. It is also less messy as any excess glue will go on tweezers not your own skin!

-Instead of using the cheap mini glue provided in the pack invest in some, different glue. I personally recommend Mac Eyelash Glue, it's the best I've ever bought (although pricey) and it is such a timesaver and makes it easier to apply. Investing in better glue will reduce the risk of eyelashes coming off. Best to avoid this ever happening as it is one of the most embarrassing things ever. A sloppy mess with wonky eyes is not a good look.

-Before applying to yourself, bend the fake eyelashes in the direction of the curve, this will make it easier to apply to the natural curve of your own lashes.

-Give yourself quite a bit of time to apply the lashes as it can be quite time-consuming the first couple of times!

-Before using glue always check the eyelashes are the correct length and size by pressing them against your own beforehand. This can give you a rough idea of what they will look like after without any messiness.

-Last tip: BE PATIENT. I have always had a struggle with applying fake eyelashes, maybe it's because I'm inpatient or clumsy, I don't know, but once they're on they look gorgeous! Just take your time and be patient.

*end result*

These fake eyelashes, along with any eyelashes, look good depending on how you apply them and what additional makeup you put with them. These in particular are very bold and dramatic, with an almost feathering and fluttery affect. I personally think they would look too much with lipstick so best to focus on dramatic eyes rather than the whole face.

The lashes create a really defined look and adding dark eye shadow can also enhance the affect. For me these really suit the thin shape and sharp bone structure of my face, however these would not suit some certain people. Bring a friend along to decide which Girls Aloud eyelashes suit you because each one is designed for a different style.

*cost*

When I first bought these a couple of years ago, they were at a reasonable price of around £2.50. This was when these eyelashes were first released. Boots now sells them for the price of £5.30! I reckon this is way overpriced and although these have been some of my favourite lashes bought, I wouldn't be willing to pay for this price again. Me being a student I am quite picky with prices and for me, I now buy eyelashes off ebay, 10 for £2. Just think, you could buy 20 pairs for the price of 1!

*overall rating*

I do love the feathery, dramatic affect these lashes give. They are soft to touch and look dazzling on. They are some of the best I've bought, but for my current student life, I prefer to save the pennies and choose the cheaper option of ebaying !
I give a rating of 4.5/5

Thanks for reading

Summary: Really nice lashes but I prefer to save the pennies and buy cheaper ones,
