Exfoliating brush and wash in one

I came across this product through reading product reviews. I was intrigued by the product design, and as I have spot prone skin, I thought I would buy it and try it out for myself to see what it could do to my skin. The product is fairly unique I think in the way you are meant to use it. The liquid wash is inside a bottle which has an exfoliating brush attached to the top of the bottle. The product is dispensed by rotating this lid to open a small hole in the top, then a gentle squeeze puts some product on the brush. The lid needs twisting back to closed before being used. The brush is an excellent method for applying the product to your skin. It foams up well, and the brush allows you to brush the product aross your face while getting into all the contours like around the sides of your nose. I find applying the product with the brush makes my skin feel really clean, and I like the thought of not using my fingers on my face. I think this helps with making the skin less spotty. The wash itself is blue in colour and I find a little goes quite a long way. It contains salicylic acid which is known to act on unblocking pores and is an anti bacterial agent. It also has an ingredient called HerbaSoothe from blueberries. Although the wash is good at making my skin less spotty, my skin is left quite dry from it and I couldn''t skip moisturisation after using it as I have patches of skin which look awful after it. I have a very mixed opinion about this product. At around 6 pounds, I find the price very reasonable for a product that works. I also really love the design of the bottle and think it is an excellent way to apply and use this product for best effect. I think the brush is really hygienic and its nice and soft on my skin while having a gentle exfoliating effect. For me, it is no more effective though than any other brand of wash I have used in terms of keeping my skin clear, and I don''t like how dry my skin is afterwards. I don''t think I would repurchase it as a result. I think it might be better for people who have skin that is more oily naturally. Even though my skin is spot prone I do have very dry skin including on my T zone. So overall, its an ok product in a fantastic package.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Face wash, that will help control oil and blemishes for a bargain price!

My skin is a bit rubbish, not going to lie to you - without a bit of foundation it always looks a bit sad and dreary. So I've always been one that wanted to use really exfoliating face washes, and the ones in tubes have always been a bit of a disappointment; start out good but for some weird reason after a little while my skin stops responding to the exfoliating properties, and it returns to looking a bit dull and miserable - so I have to start over, and find something else that can make a change to my annoying skin!

        ~*~ Garnier Exfo-Brusher Wash ~*~

Spotted in the face wash, or Garnier section - a face wash that uses a 180 bristle applicator to help unclog impurities from pores; and using the flexible bristles it will reduce the amount of surface sebum on your skin. There are two types, a bright bluey/green bottle, and this one the white bottle with the red label, so make sure you don't get them mixed up.

~*~ Most Importantly.... Does it Work? ~*~

I'm on bottle number three so I'm going to say yes!

When I first got it I was completely useless and had no idea what on earth I was doing - it doesn't have any explicit details on the label until you open it at the back, and hey presto you have instructions. Once you've done it a couple of times you're unlikely to forget how to do it, I think I must have been having a dim moment, because it's not the hardest of things to work out - then again the instructions are very simple and even if you were dumber than the proverbial you'd understand what they were trying to get you to do.

So really it is quite simple wet the bristles an your face, turn the head, squeeze some face wash out, lock the head again, rub in circular motions on your face, and then wash the head and your face and done... Simple really!

Make sure you put effort into scrubbing it into your face though because it doesn't really foam up all that well, you really have to scrub hard to get anything like that out of it. I tend to just rub it in and let it do its job - which let's face it three bottles later it must do else I'd have given up on it by now. So don't expect to have a lot of proof on your face that you've got face wash on, or worry about it falling off your face. That's something that normally drives me mad, especially with foaming face washes, but with this one it seems to work quite nicely a quick squeeze out onto the head and pop it on your face you won't run out unless you've got a massive face. Which I'm guessing not many people have!

The flexible bristles aren't too harsh on your skin either and that was my initial concern with them actually, as much as I like to brush my face silly with this face wash, it doesn't make your face red or damaged to what I can feel. So they are soft enough to be effective - as after patting dry I always make sure I put moisturiser on afterwards, and would like to think if I'd broken my skin in a major way it might sting with the application of moisturiser. The bristles last really well too, my average bottle of this lasts a month, and by the time it's replaced it still has all the bristles intact and no split in the pad they sit on, so they are really well made - to stand the test of being battered twice a day. I like my skin to feel smooth before I put any make up on so I've found that using it before I apply and after I've taken my make up off before I go to bed, and even on twice a day it lasts a month - so it's also really good value.

I'm a massive fan of this face wash now, it does wonders to make my skin look good, it takes off all the dead skin that makes it look dull and miserable and leaves a nice fresh layer underneath. Without making your face red and angry looking, I have a problematic nose area that seems to get very stubborn and flaky but since using this regularly I've not had that problem - it means my make-up applies a lot smoother now than it ever used to, and in combination with a skin perfecting cream it gives my skin a nice look to it. As for spots, well my skin wasn't too prone to them now being in my twenties anyway, but I do get the occasional black head on my nose area that annoys me - so really this face wash has warded off any large spots that might occur every now and again, and kept my blackheads at bay, even making my pores look a lot smaller after using it. I have to say even in my twenties I've had a bit of a problem with an oily forehead since I was a teenager, this is quite good at keeping it to a minimum really, it's not perfect as I still apply a bit of face powder during the day but it's good enough that I'm not always checking in the mirror to see if I have a shiny forehead! It doesn't smell that bad either, smells like soap really - nothing majorly offensive about it, and nothing that would make you not want to use it, just an average chemically smelling face wash.

        ~*~ Price and Availability ~*~

This is available in numerous places, Asda, Tesco and all your usual shops to buy face wash products from, and in a lot of places it is on offer at the moment. I got my latest bottle for £5 from Asda it is the same in Tesco (or was when I went into my local one about 2 hours ago) and only £5.33 in Boots if you want to use your advantage card, and it's also £5 on Amazon if you are using up vouchers.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Fantastic used alongside a bit of moisturiser

Almost immediately after using this poduct I was actually really disappointed. It was bought on a whim as I was at the end of my tether with my combination skin (oily T-zone-particularly on my nose).

Something about this product was different (namely the white brush which was attached to the top of the bottle). I was drawn to the bold colours (red and turquoise on a white background).

I was a little reluctant to try this product at first as I had never heard of nor seen it before-but also the fact that it was £7.47 from Wilkinsons at the time.

On first use the wash felt really gentle on my skin. Although I used the brush, the bristles were extra soft, and there was no need to scrub harshly. Immediately after the innitial wash, I could see big improvements in my skin. Garnier advertises this product as "Exfo-Brusher Wash. Removes dead skin cells. Visibly reduces shine" On first impressions, I would have totally agreed with this statement.

About an hour after I used the Garnier face wash, my skin was ten times shinier than ever before. I put this down to it being a new face wash, and the fact that things often get worse before you start to see an improvement. I didn't let the shininess deter me from continuing to use it as part of my daily routine.

Gradually over the next week or so, the skin on my nose appeared completely oil free. My pores looked completely different and my blackheads were gradually disappearing.

I find it really easy to remember to use this face wash daily as the bristles feel so smooth and relaxing-I simply incorporate it into my shower routine. In order to use the product you simply have to remove the top, rotate the brusher head 180 degrees, wet the brush and then squeeze a small amount out. I then close the brush and then apply it to my wet face. The brush allows me to reach all those difficult areas, whilst the 170 flexi bristles get to work on my pores.

Exfo-Brusher wash contains 2% purifying salicilic acid "a maximum concentration of an extremely effective anti-bacterial ingredient". It also contains Herbasoothe-a natural acive.

Garnier advertise that this product helps protect against spots-even before they appear. I would disagree with this statement, due to the fact I've actually had numerous spots appear since using this product.

I would purchase this product again as it definately improves surface sebum levels (oil levels)- which is the main reason I purchased it. I've tried a few other products to improve the appearance of shiny skin, but nothing else has worked as well as this. I would definately recommend using a good moisturiser alongside this product as my nose has actually gone from being really oily to getting quite dry. I would not purchase this product however if I was wanting to help stop spots-as it doesn't!!!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A nice product

The Exfo-Brusher Face Wash from Garnier really works (I guess 'Exfo' is short for 'exfoliating'). I thought that the brush would be hard, but it is quite soft yet manages to be abrasive enough to clean the skin efficiently. It leaves the skin cleansed, free of detritus and soft, looking much better than before. I don't know if this down to the brush or the product, but I am certainly impressed.

My skin sensitive so I found this ideal for me.

The downside is that the bristles are so soft,They dont do much, but the feeling is nice.its more like a massage rather than an exfoliator.

I have used it twice a day, morning and evening. I have been using it for about 2 weeks. The bristles are now slightly bent.i rinse and follow the instructions on how to clean the brush, but I am a bit concerned they may be some old soap residue at the base of the bristles. If there is it wont be very good for skin.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

There are better and gentler face washes out there.

Like other reviewers here, I bought this after seeing an advert for it on TV. I had also used Garnier products previously with no problem. This product, however, is just plain weird to me, and doesn't work for my skin.

I liked the idea of a brush to exfoliate the skin whilst washing it. However, I didn't like the brush after about a week of use, when it turned a pale beige colour from washing my foundation off my face. No matter how hard I scrubbed the brush and tried to clean it (the instructions say to run it under warm water to clean), it stayed beige, and then I felt a bit odd exfoliating my face with something that had old foundation on it. I mean, how are you meant to clean make-up off your face if not with the product you use to wash your face?

Secondly, the gel itself caused breakouts for me. I found it burnt my skin and had a slightly alcoholic smell. I won't buy this product again. Weird!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Didn't work for me, but a nice concept.

I bought this at super drug for about £8, I thought the price was good, very reasonable. Previously I have used a couple of cleansers from Garnier which I thought were brilliant.

I first heard about this product on a TV advert and I thought the idea of placing a brush on the top to really deep cleanse was a really good idea as that's what every girl wants really.

I found the exfo-brush to be gentle on my skin, didn't feel like I was actually rubbing a brush against my face. It is also very easy to use (massage the brush in circular motions to cleanse). I found that the product inside the bottle itself took a while to foam up and the smell wasn't at all overpowering.

The big disappointing downside the product made my skin dry out and irritable, it also left red marks around my nose and mouth (which looked like burns) only after a couple of uses. I thought that this might be the cause of using it for too long as I used it for about 2-3 minutes slowly making sure to cover all over my face and especially on my prone areas that I get spots and blackheads. I didn't notice any benefits to my skin at all.

So I stopped using the product for a few days and tried again. Only using it for 1 minute at a time 2 minutes tops, I noticed an improvement but my skin still was dry and very itchy.

I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin as it is very harsh and can cause bad irritation. It may work better for other people and different skin types, but having combination skin myself, it didn't work well for me.

Overall I believe that if you want to try this product you should try a sample and do a patch test on your jawline to see if you have any reactions or redness to your skin, before using it all over your face. Thought it was a brilliant concept but didn't do it for me.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A decent exfoliating brush that cleanses your face.

I like to look after my skin and one of the products that I have been using recently is this Garner Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash. I first tried this after it was recommended to me by a friend and then when I spotted it reduced from £7.56 to £5.10 on the Sainsburys website I decided to purchase one and give it a go. This 1/3 off offer seems to come up quite regularly and I've since purchased another one at this price just because it's a fantastic saving.

The exfo brusher wash is a plastic tube that contains some facial cleanser within. It's very simple to use, just remove the large plastic cap, twist the top of the brusher and then while turning the bottle upside down with it a gentle squeeze until some of the blueish fluid is released. You then twist the cap back to it's normal closed position and then turn the bottle sideways and use it to massage your face in a circular motion. It's very simple to use this product and takes just a minute or two once or twice a day. The top of the bottle has lots of bristles on it which are flexible and designed to help massage your skin. The idea behind using is this that it will open your pores and help to cleanse and clear impurities which in turn will help to reduce the shininess of your skin.

Since using this product I have noticed an improvement to the feel and look of my skin. From the first use I felt that my face was a lot cleaner that it had been in a long time and I got feel a light tingle in places from the cleansing liquid. I just massaged my face in small circles and it only took around a minute to do my whole face and a little really does go a long way with this liquid. I found that one small squeeze was enough to start releasing the liquid and as soon as I could see it coming out in to the bristles I just stopped squeezing straight away so I could use the minimal amount. I have found this very simple to use and there really is nothing to it. Once my face has been suitably cleansed I just rinse the top of the brusher with warm water and then I splash some water on my face to remove all the excess liquid.

Overall I have been very pleased with the results. I am not really prone to breakouts on my skin anymore, possibly because I don't wear a lot of maker, but I have found this to help my skin stay clean, shine free and spot free. I have been very happy with how easy this is to use and as it doesn't take up a lot of time I'm able to use it every morning and every evening with no problem at all. My skin feels clean and smooth and I certainly haven't noticed any spots since I started using this on a daily/twice daily basis. I appreciate that this is a little expensive at full price but I believe a bottle would last me a couple of months but it's hard to put an exact time scale on it as I don't always use it the same amount of times each day.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          The Search Continues.

Dodging the icy draft from the open door of Superdrug, I looked through the shelves for the latest potion to apply to our little M&M's eczema. The search was now in the realms of over-the-counter recommendations after the prescription stuff hadn't worked and they had a three-for-two on skincare. Finding two pricey bottles of the cream we needed and looking round for a third item, I spotted a little present for myself - the Garnier Pure-Active Exfo Brush. Running my hands over my post pregnancy face and catching a glimpse of it in the distorted and smeared mirror above the earring stand, I decided this was just what I needed. I'd had a couple of under-the-skin spots brewing and I desperately wanted to keep a little bit of the glow my skin had acquired in the last 12 months. Normally this was priced at £7.95, so getting it for free was an excellent deal. Or so I thought.

Getting home, I plonked my little princess down on her mat and opened the lid. It was a very clinical looking bottle, predominantly white and quite tall. It wasn't going to look pretty on the bathroom shelf, but it did seem like it might blast spots into oblivion. The plastic bristles set into the top looked like astroturf, but felt soft under my fingers; the idea was that these exfoliated your face and made the cleanser inside that much more effective. The Boyfriend sniggered. "Why are you going to use carpet cleaner on your face?" Ignoring him, I went upstairs to try it. The tiny instructions were annoyingly placed under the sticky label, but it was pretty straightforward. Wet face, wet brush. Turn the brush head 180 degrees and release some cleanser, turn it back, scrub face, rinse. The cleanser smelt nice in a citrusy, fresh way and I could see the blue dribble of it snaking onto the brush ready to lather up.

          Washing:
Over two weeks of use, I used this twice a day and found the actual washing to be a little unsatisfying. The cleanser is slightly sticky, meaning that it was easier to use in the shower than over the sink, where it was a pain to rinse off along the hairline. Also, (I don't really know why) I wanted more foam than the slight froth that took forever to form on my face. The bristles seemed scratchier on the more delicate skin of my face than they had on my hand and the circular action recommended wasn't all that comfortable. The after effect was ok; skin that felt cleanish, but not tight or in need of moisturiser. I was careful to rinse the brush properly after use, thinking that bacteria might hide in amongst the bristles. The novelty of a fun new way to wash my face got boring very quickly.

          Results:
After two weeks, my poor skin did not have less spots; instead it had more. They appeared all over my face. Wherever I'd used the brush was a kind of reddish rash like fading chicken pox, with spots coming to the surface of my cheeks and forehead. I would have carried on blaming hormones and my new-mum diet of oats-so-simple, but then the rash appeared in a patch on my neck that had accidentally been brushed. I immediately switched back to my old cleansing routine and although the spots have lessened over the four weeks since I stopped using it, they haven't entirely gone yet. There's still a lot left in the manly looking bottle, so I sincerely hope The Boyfriend takes a fancy to it, it would irritate me to put it in the bin.

Overall, I didn't like the packaging, the effect or the results on my combination skin, so in all good conscience, the best I can give is two stars for a novel idea. Price wise, I wouldn't suggest paying the full RRP to try this.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Does a fairly good job but I wouldn't pay the full price tag again

After seeing the Garnier Exfo-brusher wash on the adverts I have to say I was intrigued. This curiosity about the product grew after reading a review about the product that said it was great. This then lead me to venture out and purchase the oh so mysterious device.

            What is it?

The Garnier Exfo-brush is a device that you use to cleanse your face. It is a bottle with a brush attached to the head which claims to have 170 bristles, I did not count the bristles but there is a lot on there. The bristles scrub your face clean whilst the bottle releases the face gel. Using these bristles garnier claim that you will get an intensive deep cleanse which helps to remove dead skin cells and fade marks. It also works to unclog impurities from pores and visibly reduces surface sebum levels. Well there is only one way to find out if any of this works and that was to test it.

            First impressions

As I strolled along to Boots to pick up the exfo-brush I was in a strange and sad way looking forward to it.
I was then astonished to see that it was priced at £7.99! I thought this was extremely expensive for what it was being from Garnier but I proceeded with the purchase since Boots had a 3 for 2 offer on.
The bottle felt very chunky and quite heavy. I did wonder how I would go about washing my face with such a chunky device that will come later.

            Opening the product

As I opened the product I was very surprised at the brushes. From the outside they look like they are made out of plastic and I was a bit concerned about the effect they would have on my face. However, when I opened the lid I was relieved to see that they are actually very soft. They kind of feel like a soft hair brush.
Now it was time to use the product and to my shock there were no instructions. All you got was a sticker saying to turn the brush.
That was what I did. You have to turn the brush all the way around to the on position. As I mentioned before the bottle is quite chunky so I have found that I need to hold it with two hands in order to scrub my face and squeeze the bottle to release the gel.
There is a small hole in between the bristles that releases a blue liquid. It has a pleasant scent and only a small amount comes out at a time. This allows a good amount of lather to build on your face in order to cleanse.
As the brush scrubs against my face I can feel it working. The brushes provide a massage feeling that is soft and relaxing.
Once I have rinsed my face it feels incredibly soft as the brush exfoliates. My face feels very light and free from impurities.

            Results

I have been using this product for about a week now and I have to admit I am slightly disappointed with the results.
It has cleansed my skin fairly well but I know it might sound a bit stubborn of me, I was expecting my skin to have no impurities whatsoever (That will be the day).
The exfo-brush does not work very well on black heads and I still have some on my nose. Also I have still had a couple of little impurities here and there which I have not had when using other face washes.
However, this product has not irritated my skin and has not left my skin feeling dry or greasy.

            Other matters

The fact that this product did not have any instructions was an annoyance for me. I was not sure what I had to do with the product exactly. I thought to get the best results I should dip the brushes in water after I have used it to get rid of any bacteria that might be on the brush. However, I think some water might have gone into the bottle as it has now started producing more lather than before. This might just be the way the product works but I would have liked some guidance on this.

            Would I recommend?

Hmm, well for £7.99 I would have to say no. If it was cheaper at around the £4 mark then I would probably say yes. It does give a nice cleanse and your face will feel lovely and soft afterwards. But if you are expecting miracles then this is not the product for you. There are cheaper alternatives on the market that will provide you with similar results so I do not think I will be purchasing this product again. I would rate this product 4 out of 10.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

I will be sticking to my normal cleanser

I've been using Garnier facial cleansers for some time as they are one of the few brands that I don't seem to be allergic to. The cleansers I have used up until now (Mainly Garnier Pure Deep Pore wash) have done a good job of keeping my skin clear of spots but black heads have remained a constant problem particularly around my nose.
This product comes with a higher price tag than other Garnier cleansers due to the exfoliating brush on the top of the bottle. This brush, made from soft rubbery hairs, is designed to work the cleanser deep into your pores and remove all the dirt and make-up- so leaving your skin throughly cleansed and removing black heads.
The cleansing liquid is a blue gel like substance that quickly turns into a lather when in contact with a small amount of water. The only difficulty I had with it was that to get the gel onto the brush you have to squeeze it through a hole in the middle of the brush and the only way to do this is to hold the brush upside down and try to make sure the cleanser doesn't just fall straight onto the floor, but stays on the brush. I got the hang of this after a few days though and in all other aspects it if a fun product to use.
The cleanser feels very refreshing on your skin and the rubbery filaments of the brush give your face a massage as you use it. My skin was left feeling and looking cleansed although quite dry.
Although it has reduced my black heads, it has not completely eliminated them and overall, although I do enjoy using the brush I do not think it is significantly better than the other Garnier products I have used and as it is about £3 more expensive for the sake of the brush I will be sticking to their regular cleansers in future.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A good product for those with normal skin but not for those with sensitive skin

I purchased this product after using another exfoliating product that my skin didn't like that much.

This product made my skin feel smooth (albeit dry) and it's very easy to use.

However, I didn't feel like it gave me a deep enough clean and it made my skin feel a bit dry and makeup went on flaky after using it.

I tend to have combination skin - an oily t-zone and dry cheeks and it's also very sensitive so I'm not sure if this had anything to do with it. I also tend to suffer from breakouts on my chin and this product didn't seem to have an effect on them. It didn't give me anymore spots but it didn't help get rid of those I had either.

I think this would be a good product for those who don't have really really problem skin. After using it did make my skin feel a bit smooth but my face was also a bit red after using it but my skin is very sensitive so alot of products don't like it.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

For oily Combination skin with any level of acne i would highly recommend

The Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher is the best product for acne that i have used. Within a few hours redness around my breakout areas had subsided ,with no irritation. And in just 3 days almost all of my spots were gone, alot of my blackheads had been cleared, it doesnt over dry and using it twice a day I havnt broken out since.
The 150ml bottle lasted over a month and a half, and the bristles stayed fairly straight over the life of the bottle. It faded the marks left by the acne and even my old acne scars faded a little. After 2 weeks of using my face was clear and clean, less shiny, i had a more even complection. No other product has worked for me over all the brands of usual supermarket cleansers and scrubs and even 2 pharmacy only benzoyl peroxide products. I would highly recomend it to anyone with any level of acne, i have combination oily skin and it worked perfectly! Very Satisfied!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A really good face wash for spotty skin!

I've used another Garnier Pure face wash for years and love it, so when I saw this one with the exfo-brusher I wanted to see if it was any good or if it was just another gimmick. It costs £7.49 which is a fair bit more than the normal wash, but i guess you're paying for the special application of the exfo-brusher.

The bottle has a pull off lid and under that is the exfo-brush. The brush is made up of lots of little rubbery spikes, and in the middle is the hole where the product comes through. You need to twist the top to open it, squeeze out a bit of the wash onto the brush, then twist it back to close it before using the brush.

The rubbery spikes are really soft and feel really gentle on my skin, but a the same time I can feel that they are exfoliating and cleaning deep into my pores, and it leaves my skin looking a little red for a few minutes after using it. I do find the bottle a bit bulky and awkward to hold when I'm trying to use the brush but after a while I got used to it.

The face wash is a blue gel which foams up when you use it. If feels really refreshing and like it's really working. After using it my skin feels super clean and refreshed, and looks clean, clear and shine free. The bottle says you'll notice results after the 1st use but apart from being clean and shine-free I didn't really notice a difference the first time.

After a few days the spots I had were all disappearing and the blackheads I had around my nose also looked alot less obvious. And now after using it regularly my skin looks much better than it did previsously and it's so much clearer I hardly get spots at all now. I never thought I'd find a better cleanser than the other Garnier Pure one but it seems the exfo-brush really does make a difference!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Wont comment on the science but all i know is it WORKS!

I am a blokey type of bloke and can be accused of not "evolving" like the average modern male and looking after my skin.

This sometimes leaves my skin looking a bit dull and bedraggled, with the odd blackhead attacking me so i thought i would dip my toe in the pool of male grooming and bought this little device from Boots for £4.49.

I have been using it for about 2 weeks and have to admit i am glad i bought it. My skin feels much softer and has a healtyh glow about it. The dryness that sometimes haunted my facial skin has completely gone and i often find myself feminely stroking my mush after using this product as it really does feel silky.

It has all sorts of modern cleansing breakthrough ingredients like blueberry extract and oils which are supposed to be good for you but to be honest i dont much about that.

What i will say from view, from a average bloke on my level is that as a result of this ex brush, my skin looks better, it feels better and it is better so for less than a fiver i would take the plunge.

Be sure to peel the back label off to reveal the instruction label underneath to give you the step by step guide how to use this or you might be a bit puzzled.

            Top product.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

A great facial wash that leaves skin looking and feeling fab if not for the badly designed bottle.

As a daily foundation wearer, my skin likes to rebel and I often suffer from blogged pores and bad breakouts on my cheeks. After looking around for a good skin regime, I came across the Garnier Pure Active Range.
This is a review of the Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash.

Cost was £6.99 in Superdrug (150ml)
The product comes in a white bottle with transparent blue cap. Under the cap is a lid full of bristles designed to exfoliate the face as you clean.

The bottle blurb on the front and back claims that is has a concentrated formula of 2% Salicylic Acid and HebaSoothe, which combine to visibly remove dead skin cells, reduce shine, fight spots and reduce blemish marks. In addition results should be visible from Day 1 of use and continued use prevents spots before they appear. . .

To use the wash you remove the outer lid, and twist the blue top of the bottle where the arrows mark. This opens a hole in the centre of the brushes allowing you to squeeze product out onto them. I recommend doing this while the bottle is upright, or it defeats the object of getting it on the bristles!
Turning back the cap seals the hole again so that the wash stays there- though this is trial and error at first, as twisting it back the wrong way does nothing except suck the wash back down.
You then cleanse your face using the bristles to scrub away at will, and wash off.
The bristles themselves are very soft to touch, and so do not harm the face no matter how hard I scrub! rather they leave a very clean sensation that enables you to spread the wash all over the face and in tricky areas such as around the nose. My only complaint is that the bottle itself is a weird rectangle shape, that is much to wide to hold comfortably, and doesn't conform to the hand very well when try to scrub your face with it. I also find the bristles a bit to long- you really have to scrub the bristles clean after use as losts of product builds at the base of the bristles and sticks there.

I find that after washing away my face feels clean, tingly and fresh. As to Garnier's claims about the product- in general I have to agree. After using for about a month my skin is smooth, no longer shiny and much clearer. My pores look and feels unclogged and blemish marks are improved- I will point out that I have very tanned skin though, and this may make a difference if you have lighter skin and redder marks.
Although a little expensive, I have only used about a quarter of the bottle in the month I have used it, so I would estimate that you could get 3-4 months out of it depending on use. (I use morning and night)
Although I use the whole Pure Active Range, the face wash seems like it would be very effective on its own, without using the same line of moisturiser and spot treatment.
