Genie Head Massager
Advantages: Cheap, it works! Makes for a great gift.
We have had many of these over the past few years, of different brand names but they have all proven to be exactly the same in terms of how pleasurable they are, and how long they last.
When I first saw one of these online on the Play.com website, I was intrigued! And as I was searching for a humorous gift to put with my partners Christmas presents, I thought this would be perfect.
My partner really enjoys his head scratches and head massages, so I bought this little item as a funny gesture to hint that I didn't want to be his head massaging slave any more! Thankfully, he really enjoys this metallic simply made item ....although my duties haven't decreased that much, as I still have to use this head massager for him! It may be easier on my hands, but I'd much prefer an electronic version which I could screw to the wall! But then again, that probably wouldn't cost 99p!
If you do decide for any reason to try this out, I would definitely recommend going for the cheapest version as it isn't worth paying more for a branded product, they are all the same!
My first one of these cost me about £1.70 from eBay, then after we somehow lost that one, we bought another a few months later from a gadget store for about £2.50 on offer.
We recently bought two more from our local Jysk store at just 99p each!
They can now be bought with free delivery from
£2.99 from Play.com for the genie version, which is at the moment the cheapest variety on their website.
£2.51 from Amazon for an unbranded product, and there are quite a few varieties on their website, so it's worth having a look through them all for the cheapest.
99p on Ebay with free delivery although the postage is from Hong Kong.
£1.15 free delivery on Ebay which is a bargain! From a UK seller, and you can also get the bargain of buying two and getting one free at the moment!
All of these items we've tried have all had the same design, with slightly different shaped handles. Although all of them, including the Genie version provide a luxurious massage.
The prongs on the ones we have at the moment are in two lengths, some slightly shorter to give a more all over massage. The prongs have smooth plastic caps on, to avoid you getting your scalp scratched to pieces!
We have never had any problems with the caps coming off or becoming worn, even when we use the massager's as fighting tools and swords!
The prongs do bend easily, and after a while of using them on your head they may seem to sit wider, but they are easy to reposition and bend back into shape by wrapping your hand around the base tight and dragging it down- this pulls the prongs together and encourages them to sit tighter together.
I didn't expect this product to be any good- seriously, I bought it as a novelty joke gift! Especially for the price and how simple it is. But my partner loves it! I personally am not one for head massages, they don't do much for me! But I do agree that when you are relaxed or need to release a bit of tension even on your neck this massager does help.
The prongs feel like fingers, or large spider legs going through your hair, which makes a few people shiver and jump away from it when we've tried it on them, but everybody has agreed this item is worth having!
It is also great for reaching all of your itchy spots at once on your head, especially after you've had your hair dyed and bleached as I often find my scalp feels dry and itchy.
This massager can be used slowly, for a relaxing massage or quickly for a good scratch or rougher massage, but I've never managed to hurt my partners head either way. I have to admit it's sometimes easy to catch his head with the shorter prongs and I wince as it feels like I've stabbed him in the skull! But he's never complained of it hurting and the massager has never scratched him.
I would 100% recommend this item! Whether as a novelty gift, or as a massager, you may just find you become addicted to it!
For the price, what's there to lose? Although don't fall for the shop's scam prices as I have seen these being on sale for £5 and £10! which is ridiculous as they can be bought dirt cheap elsewhere!
Thank you for reading, I also post on Ciao
