Advantages: works brilliant, hygienic, doesn't hurt
Disadvantages: feet were a bit sore the following day
I have always had a bit of dry skin on my feet, probably because I almost always wear sandals and flip flops. Over the years, I've tried a number of foot scrubs, files and graters, but none have worked very well. I'd seen lots of adverts for the ped egg by JML but hadn't had much interest because plenty of other foot graters hadn't worked for me before.
One day, I went up to my moms flat and she had bought me a ped egg to try. I was grateful although I did think it would be a waste of money.
The JML ped egg costs £9.78 in Argos and £9.99 in Boots. In boots though, you can collect the advantage points on your card don't forget.
So, one night, after my son had gone to bed, I decided to try it out. I washed my feet in warm water and soap and dried them. I then took the lid of the little ped egg and looked at it. It looked worryingly similar to a cheese grater much to the amusement of my daughter. Now unlike other foot graters, the metal grater part has the plastic egg part on the back of it, so your dry skin doesn't go everywhere, but in there and can be easily emptied out afterwards which is much better and more hygeinic. Anyway, I began to rub the ped egg against the ball of my foot, pressing fairly hard and moving it really quickly. I stopped after a few minutes thinking it wasn't working because normally foot graters hurt or scratch but this one didn't at all. I rubbed my foot and it felt much smoother.
It took me about thirty minutes to do my heels, balls of my feet and the knife edges of my feet thoroughly. Afterwards, I used a bit of oilatum moisturiser on my feet. I opened the ped egg and there was quite a lot of very fine dry skin inside it which looked somewhat like parmazan cheese aha.
The next day, my feet felt absoloutey brilliant. There was no more dry skin and my feet felt smooth and soft allover, I was very pleased. Saying this though, I had done a lot of 'grating' and my feet did feel a bit sore the next day.
Overall, this was the best foot grater I've ever used. It is hygeinic and clean and made my feet feel and look better than they have ever looked without hurting them. Im very pleased with this and would recommend it to others.
Summary: A brilliant foot scrubbing thing.

- 27/08/09 I'd like to try it but I have heard that you really need to be careful about accidentally shaving off good skin too. |
