Advantages: Looks good, small, price, ease of use, hygienic

Disadvantages: It has put me off parmesan for a while!

I had read a few reviews on this product on here and obviously seen them
in a few stores but at £10 was always a bit reluctant to try it.
On seeing this for £5 delivered online, it was just the little push i needed to treat myself... If you could call grating your feet a treat!

During the winter months I dont seem to have a problem with hard skin on my feet, Im assuming that this is due to the fact that my feet are enclosed in tights and shoes for 16 hours a day. I dont get away with it in the summer as I live in my fitflops (have you read my review?)


Anyhow my £4.99 bargain arrived last week. The original Ped Egg Professional. It was a white and egg shaped with a foot file hence Im assuming the name came about. On opening the packet my first thoughts were that it looked like cheap plastic but on closer inspection it felt lightweight and fit in the palm of my hand well. I tried it immediately by gently and slowly sliding the Ped Egg back and forth against the hard dead skin.
The Ped Egg is designed so that it collects and stores the dead skin for you to empty when finished. Those of you that have used foot files before will understand that this is really quite a clever idea. I know that I used to try and do mine over the bath but it really wasnt the most comfortable!
When finished I opened up the Ped Egg to empty and was stunned at how much it had collected! It looked similar to grated parmesan and it did briefly cross my mind to store it for the mother-in-law's pasta on her next visit!

The Ped Egg boasts over 135 precision micro files yet are gentle and safe to touch. The ergonomic design means that it fits perfectly into the palm of your hand for easy and convenient use. Best of all, it is designed to collect the skin shavings.
As with any similar product do not use on irritated or broken skin. Do not use if you are diabetic or have poor blood circulation. Do not use if metal becomes rusted. Intended for use on callused feet only. Seek medical attention if skin becomes severly irritated or bleeds. It is not recommended to be shared!
After emptying the Ped Egg can be easily washed with hot soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly and store in a dry location.

The Ped Egg certainly worked for me. It does the job in a pain free fashion, gives the desired effect in an extremely hygienic fashion.
At £4.99 its a steal but its also worth the RRP of £9.99
I believe that Ped Egg is now available in various colours and there is also a model with a handle should you so wish.

I would also just like to clarify that no mother-in-laws were actually harmed during this experiment.

Summary: Its definately a product that I would buy again in the future
