Advantages: leaves your feet soft and smooth

Disadvantages: spills skin shavings, cost

By now most people must have heard of the ped egg- it is a foot care product originally invented by JML and is sold worldwide. I had seen its ad quite a few times but thought it is juts one of those stupid inventions that fills up your cupboard. But my sister how had tried and tested it insisted me on buying this. A foot file for £9-£10- I was hesitant. But still couldn't resist myself after I heard and read about the reviews. So finally bought one and realised it does file and scrub your feet really well and makes it feel soft. It says that is has 135 stainless steel micro files to gently remove calluses and dead skin. It is mainly a better version or foot filer. My foot is quite dry well taken care of with simple filer and home made pedicures. Still ped egg is good to get rid of the dry skin.
Although JML keeps saying that it is very gentle on skin and show on TV/web that it doesn't even harm a balloon but I had a small bruise around my ankle. When called customer services about this they just said it is probably just that piece so just exchanged for another one. Anyways another drawback is its other 'no mess' feature- although they say it is designed to collect the skin shavings in its compartment- it still leaves a mess. Yes it does collect some in it but equally drops off a lot on the floor. I now try using it with a paper/bin below my feet.
Although all these extra features are not so great its cleaning ability is great- even if you file everyday you still tend to find some build up of dry skin that gets scraped off with ped egg. As I said earlier I do clean feet (pedicure) regularly, using ped egg makes it really soft and smooth. It does come with a emery buff to finish off the pedicure but i really dont seem to use this much. I actually use it as an accompaniment to my pedicure set.
These are sold in major superstores like asda boots and tescos for £9.95 and also online. Beware of many fake ones that look and are packed exactly like this and usually seen on eBay for less than a fiver. I don't know if the fake ones do the magic as I haven't tried them yet.

Summary: Not a bad foot filer but if only it was half its price!!

Ugh, I wouldn't want foot crust dust spilling all over the place.
