Advantages: It's worked wonders with my feet!
Disadvantages: The price it first .. but it's soon worth it!
My feet don't half suffer, dry skin, hard skin, flaky skin, you name it they get it and Silly here fails to treat them so last week I had a bit of spare change and decided to treat my feet for once. I popped into Boots in search of some sort of foot scraper, whilst perusing the shelves I was approached by a lady asking me what I was looking for. After I explained my minging feet predicament she reccomended I give the PedEgg a go and pointed at a few packets containing this egg shaped thing!
I remembered seeing it on an advert a few weeks before and it was one of them things I thought 'Pfft whatever!'. I got the jist of this advert though, an egg shaped foot grater that wasn't sharp enough to bust a balloon but could grate your skin. Yeah sure thing I thought!
I wandered round Boots 'umm'ing' and 'aah'ing' for a good half an hour, cameras following and allsorts and soon give in. I popped back to the JML Ped Egg shelves and all I could see was these white egg shaped cases when out of nowhere a baby pink one caught my eye. That was it I HAD to get it, out come my £10 note so I could pay £9.99 for it. I must of been mad right?
The Ped Egg comes packaged neatly in a see through plastic case with info and points hustling and bustling all over it. Inside the packet was an instruction manual too which for once I actually read as in all honesty I was a little wary of grating my foot off.
Without reading the ins and outs of the product I opened it eagerly as it looked a strange little gadget. To be honest I was really unimpressed with it. It's a thin plastic case, shaped very similarly to an egg it comes in two halves with a grater that must be securely clicked in on the one side, not only this but it's very light and felt almost like it was going to be extremely flimsy. Hmmph I just paid £9.99 for this!
The Pedegg is apparently the ultimate Foot File, with over 135 precision micro files it's safe to the touch has an ergonomic design and on top of all this it traps shavings resulting in no mess! The grater style file is meant to be extremely gentle, that gentle that it wouldn't even burst a balloon. Yet whilst being so gentle it's meant to remove dead skin to leave your feet feeling baby soft. I was yet to believe this, it seemed unreal to me.
I was however beginning to understand this unusual egg shaped product. It was a pefect design to sit snugly in the palm of your hand, allowing an easy, firm yet comfortable grip when it came to grating my heels. This whole grating business was really worrying me now lol!
The whole idea of the PedEgg is that the grater attached gently removes your dry and hard skin collecting it in the casing below the grater. Once you've finished you simply unclick the grater, empty your dust, give it a quick wash, close it up and you're ready for your next grating session.
After carefully reading the instructions I sat the PedEgg neatly in my hand and prepared my feet ensuring they were clean and dry.
Applying just gentle pressure to my feet I began gliding the Ped Egg across my heels and my big toe which suffers tremendously too. I was shocked instantly as within seconds I could see my hard, rough textured skin softening and looking strangely smooth. It was an unusual feeling at first. I didn't feel I was putting enough pressure on my feet for the Ped Egg to actually work, but somehow it was scraping my skin gently and caringly. I was still in disbelief though, had it really scraped skin off my feet. So I gave the Ped Egg a little shake next to my ear and could hear something shaking about inside that wasn't shaking about in there before! No way!!
I honestly can't believe this thin, flimsy looking egg shaped foot file actually works applying the least amount of pressure possible yet enough to ensure it's touching your foot lol it actually worked within the first few seconds and the results after just a week and a half of using it are brilliant.
My heels that used to have deep, dark ridges in them as well as solid sore skin are now thinner, smoother and looking vibrantly pink rather than ridiculously yellow and horrid. My big toes that felt like I was walking on bricks sometimes have so much life in the them now, I can push down on them without it feeling like I'm stomping. I can walk comfortably and confidently thanks to a few minutes each night of gentle grating.
After I have my few minute grating session I then smother my feet in foot creams such as Scholl which has aided my softness and smoothness on my once tender and taunted feet. My feet not only look well but they feel invigorated and healthy for once and I'm not ashamed to get them out in public.
I have been so impressed with the PedEgg and would reccomend it to anybody with hard and even sore skin. My feet were quite sore to begin with but this has been so gentle and not irritated my feet one bit and now I can really see and feel the rewards.
The Ped Egg does collect the shavings off your feet but I don't know about you but sometimes it's a little awkward to get to certain places on my feet such as when I'm painting my nails. Unfortunately for me I don't do yoga and I am certainly not someone with flexible and bendy ankles and legs so if my feet are at an angle and I use the PedEgg some of the shavings do sprinkle on the floor. To ensure it doesn't get on any rugs etc I place a piece of paper on the floor to catch them.
As for the not popping a balloon claim, I can't comment but I don't think that's completely true! If the PedEgg was held at a certain angle on a balloon I'm sure it would pop it!
You can buy the grating files in Boots if you do feel yours has become a little blunt but seeing as only a little pressure needs to be applied when using it I can't see me needing to buy more for a good while yet. I don't need to use it as often now either so I will probably just use it twice a week to try keep up the healthy condition of my feet that PedEgg has helped me achieve in just over one week!
Summary: A brilliant gadget thats worked it's magic with my feet!
