Advantages: Catches any dead skin in a handy compatment.

Disadvantages: Disappointing results for the price tag.

With summer on it's way the sandals are coming out so I knew that I would have to do something about my grubby trotters. I have suffered with hard skin on my feet for years and have never been able to get rid of it. I had read so many positive reviews of the JML Ped Egg I definitely thought it was worth a shot.

The Ped Egg itself is white plastic and as you would expect it is egg shaped which is a good shape for fitting comfortably in your hand. Upon opening the egg you will find what can only be described as a cheese grater, this is actually a set of stainless steel micro files which you scrape across dry skin. Below this there is a compartment for capturing all the dead skin that is meant to be removed.

When I used the Ped Egg I was very disappointed, after reading so many positive reviews I was sure that this would be the answer to all my problems. Unfortunately the results were not as good as I expected. I found that the grater was not sharp enough to make much of a difference no matter how hard I pressed. I found the whole task quite laborious, scraping away for up to 20 minutes at a time for very little results. As this product did not work for me the only positives I can think of is that it is easy to clean and it is quite handy that the shavings that do come off fall into the compartment beneath so you will not have a flaky floor and can just empty it out into the bin. The Ped Egg also came with 2 emery boards for use after the grater.

Although I may be an exception that proves the rule on the whole I have to say this product just did not work for me. I purchased my Ped Egg from Boots for £9.99 which is quite a hefty price tag for something that left disappointing results. Looks like it is back to the old Vaseline and socks in bed routine - sexy eh?

Summary: Didn't work for me unfortunately.
