A few weeks ago, I visited our local Poundworld who had a ten pack of Kleenex original tissues for sale for £1. I always find it handy to have packs of tissues around because we never know when a cold will strike being at home with a toddler!
The ten packs of tissues come wrapped in one large cellophane wrapping and then each of the ten packs are also wrapped in their own plastic wrappers that can easily be resealed with a plastic tab when finished with to keep them safe until the next time they're needed. The individual wrappers are blue with flowers on, with the Kleenex logo across the top.
Each tissue pack houses around 8 tissues. They are all folded neatly inside and quite tightly packed together but not so close that they are hard to get from the packet - the tissues come out fairly easily. They are also quite thick (3 ply) but they feel a lot thinner once they've been used so I find it's a case of using the tissue once and then disgarding, although with a cold that's what I always tend to do anyway due to hygiene reasons. I've never found that the tissue has fallen apart either during or after use when I have a cold. I find that the tissues are large, at around 30cm x 20cm.
These are very soft to the touch so they're nice and gentle on my nose and haven't caused the skin on my face to dry out at all. I have sometimes noticed dry skin around my nose with using other types of tissue, but not at all with these. I've also used these tissues in other situations - to mop up drinks spillages for example and these have always coped well and seem fairly absorbent. Again, unless the spillage is huge, the tissue has remained fully in tact.
Each individual pack is around 12cm tall, 5cm wide and 2.5cm deep so it's fairly small and compact - ideal for keeping in my handbag. Kleenex also make smaller packs of tissues, although I quite like this size of original ones for my bag. I keep that much in my bag, these are small enough to not take over, but big enough for me to find quickly when I need a tissue!
I am down to the last pack of tissues now and I'll definitely be returning to the pound shop to see if I can replace them as soon as possible. I've previously bought packs made by other brands before now but these Kleenex ones are definitely the best ones I've tried. For the price, I feel no less than 5 dooyoo stars is appropriate.
Thanks for reading :o)
Item: Kleenex Tissues
Size: 6 packets
Bought in: Savers
I always like to have a packet of tissues on me and I have little brand loyalty. I usually pick up whatever is on a deal at between 99p to £1.20ish. I usually go for the pack that has a nice design unless a more sensible looking, plainer pack is the cheaper option.
Packaging and design:
Outer wrapper - These tissues come in a cellophane wrapper that holds all 6 packs together. The cellophane is clear and only really has "Kleenex" written across the front of it. The cellophane is very thin and flimsy once you tear a section of it open to get a packet out but is sturdy up until then. Once you have taken one packet out I find that you can't really leave the rest of the packets in as they generally start to fall out as the rest of the outer packet tears so I usually just take them all out in the one go and pop them away in a cupboard.
Each Packet - The individual packets have a much thicker plastic wrapper and this is colourfully designed. The ones I chose have a "lipstick" design across them and have the name Kleenex written across them and details on the Kleenex head office and the sizes of the tissues (21 x 21cm). The packet opens at the top when you lift up a semi circle flap that has a sticky flap over it. The adhesive on the flap is really quite good and I find that there is enough on there to reseal the pack each time until I have used all 7 tissues. The flap opens up the full width of the packet so it is easy to lift each tissues out too without any edges catching.
The tissues - The tissues are bright white and look very "clean" well they do before use anyways haha. These tissues are 3ply and are around the same thickness as a sturdy piece of kitchen roll (but not as rough, just to give you an idea of the thickness as some 3ply ones can still be quite thin) The tissues are in a square shape and have an indented spotty border around them. This does not seem to add to the absorption powers at all but looks nice.
Use and feel:
These tissues are really smooth to the touch make a nice satisfying crinkle noise when you open them up and are a wee bit like crisp bed sheets! The tissues are actually so thick that I could probably cut off the bottom third of the actual tissue and still feel confident that there would be adequate cover. The tissues have no scent at all and I am happy with that. I hate it when you open a packet of plain hankies and they smell of the plastic wrapper as this then gets rubbed right up your nose. Scented "balm" ones are OK as they have a comforting effect but ones that just smell of plastic don't sit well with me. For me these are every day tissues for fixing make up or occasional nose blowing, I wouldn't reach for these if I had a proper cold as I would be having to use them too frequently and as well as the price of using packets instead of a box then crisps ness of the tissue would actually end up being a bit harsh on a proper runny nose.
For every day use these are ideal. The individual packets are 7.5 x 5.5 x 2cm so fit easily in a pocket or the bottom of even a small handbag so are easy to carry about. As they have 7 tissues in them and I only use them occasionally I only need maybe 2 packs a week so they don't end up costing me that much but are much better than having to go on the hunt for a tissues when you are out and about.
I am happy to give these 5 stars and would recommend them to you, but as I am not loyal to any one brand I may or may not buy the again, just depends what others are on offer when I get to the shops. But if these ones and another brand are available at the same price I will probably go for these ones, especially if I can get the fun "lipstick" design on the packs again. A good quality tissue for every day use in a durable/re-sealable packet, with a funky design on them.
I'm a firm believer in being prepared, so whenever I go out I make sure I've got bits and bobs in my bag that have proven themselves to be useful over the years. One of those essential items is a packet of tissues.
Whilst I use cheap brands as a standby for loo roll in public toilets lacking essential bottom-wiping technology, for a runny/sniffly/bleeding nose I like something a bit more luxurious. Call me a brand tart, but Kleenex tissues are usually what I pack for nasal comfort.
Kleenex pocket tissue 6 packs are widely available: I've seen them in Superdrug, Boots and cheapy toiletriy shops for around a pound, plus good old Poundland carry them from time to time. Unlike the 12-packs-for-a-quid cheapy tissues, these Kleenex packs are positively decadent at just over 15p a pack.
This product comes packaged in branded cellophane, inside which are six packs of pocket tissues. Whilst the packaging varies - there are two packs each of green, purple and blue packaged tissues in the multipack - the tissues are all identical, 'original' flavour. I presume the packaging variants are so a lady can colour co-ordinate her pack of snot rags with her current outfit. Answers on a postcard please?
Each packet contains ten tissues, all white with an embossed pattern around the edge. Each tissue opens out to 21cm x 21cm, are thick and very soft. Each packet is re-sealed by way of a little sticket on the perforated opening.
These tissues are far softer and thicker than many other cheaper brands I've tried. Even though they are 'original', and therefore lack the balsam or aloe vera other Kleenex variants are impregnated with, they are very soothing to use, particularly if I have a very sore nose.
These tissues are also very absorbent - useful as I generally only resort to them when I have a stinking cold, bad allergies or persistant nosebleeds. Whilst it may sound gross, when your body is producing lots of yucky stuff out of your nasal passages, having an absorbent tissue is essential, especially if there are no disposal facilities nearby and you have to bung a dirty tissue back in your pocket!
I've also found that these tissues don't tear very easily. On occasion I've used them to mop up spills and I've found they stay intact despite fairly vigorous scrubbing of the wet surface. This is especially useful in winter if I'm walking to work and have managed to get muddy splashes up the back of my trousers! Cheaper tissues shred, but these Kleenex ones don't.
And yes, at a pinch, they're rather useful as emergency toilet paper!
I often think Kleenex products are overhyped and overpriced, but I make an exception for this particular product. Whilst working out more expensive than some pocket tissues, we're still only talking about a few pennies per pack. When needed, these are a lifesaver, and so they're part of my essential out-and-about kit.
I was suffering from an awful cold and getting through loads of tissues that were terrible quality when you blew your nose on them, they broke so I decided I would pick up some better quality tissues at the supermarket. When you're suffering you need luxury and comfort and I liked to have a packet of tissues in my pocket as I was attending a job interview and wanted to have some to hand if I needed them.
The tissues come in a pack of six packets and each pack has ten tissues in them. They are nicely folded and each pack is compact and neat. To open, they have a flap that perforates open and you can then easily remove one tissue at a time. Each pack is a different colour with green, blue and pink and floral and leaf patterns on the plastic. Inside the tissues are all plain white.
Once unfolded, the tissues measure a square approximately 21 cm. They are one ply but thick with it so extra layers are not necessary. I can blow my nose a couple of times when it's at its worst (the cold) and the tissue stays in once piece. Obviously for the purpose of catching germs these are ideal as you have to throw them away once used and this keeps contamination at bay.
Having two children means that tissues will always come in handy when out and about. I always keep a pack in my pocket for blowing noses and mopping up spills and dribbles.
I love these tissues and will definitely buy them again. I think they are well worth the extra pence for the quality you get. I also like the way the packs come in different colours as it helps me keep on top of how many I have left if I remember the pack colours (although that probably only makes sense to me but I know what I mean!).
These tissues are really thick and a lovely quality as you would expect from the Kleenex brand. I am a big fan of the brand and will choose these over other brands wherever they are available. They are hard to rip or shred and it's even possible to write on them without ripping if you are desperate for a piece of paper!
I paid £1.50 at the supermarket for this pack but I believe they were on offer at the time.
These tissues gave me the confidence to leave the house and attend an important interview with a streaming nose so I am grateful that they were such high quality and the whole pack lasts such a long time. It is nice to have these to hand with the kids too. I feel much more organised and tend to find myself supplying friends and family with a clean folded tissue which is so much more nicer than a scrunched up piece of kitchen roll! Highly recommended.
I just picked up an amazing bargain, ten packets of these tissues for just £1 in Poundland which is great when you think in some places one packet will cost you nearly £1. These tissues are so handy that its always worth having a stash and with Poundland you can do that very cheaply.
At this time of year it is essential for me to carry tissues in my bag and these packets are perfect for that. The tissues are plain white and I find them to be fairly strong, they do no rip easily and you can get quite a few blows out of each tissue so they do last quite a while. In fact Kleenex even say that these tissues are soft and extra strong and I would agree with that.
There are approximately 10 tissues in each mini packet and they come folded up so you just need to unfold them to use them. They are in a little plastic packet and at one end there is a little tab you pull to open it just a little so you can get a tissue out but then the rest of the tissues you are not using stay clean and fresh in your bag.
I find the tissues soft on my nose, especially when I have a cold and am using them time and again. I also use them on my kids too when they have a runny nose and they don't object. You don't get many fibres coming off them which is great. Around the edge of each tissue there is a little printed pattern which makes them look nice and all in all they are a well made, handy product.
As most handbag owners will tell you, the main purpose of it is to carry around with me all day my daily essentials. Having it look nice and co-ordinating my outfit is really just an added bonus lol. So with that information, along with my purse, keys, phone, oyster card and lip balm a packet of tissues is one of my much needed items to have with me at all times! Out of preference, Kleenex is my favourite and comes with me everywhere I go!
I managed to pick up a real steal, and got a multipack of 10 packs of Kleenex Original Pocket Tissues for a mere 99p in our local 99p store. Mine have the slightly older version of packaging in comparison to the image above as mine are a completely dark blue, plastic pack with a semi-circle perforation at the top where the pack can be opened and resealed with a sticker. Each handy pack contains 10 tissues.
The tissues are really thick and strong, and are a rather large square, neatly folded into a rectangle to fit into the pack. They are reasonably soft and are of really good quality for blowing noses and wiping away excess runny nose mess! I recently had an awful cold and these tissues were a godsend for me! Blowing my nose, I of course had a lot of mucus to show for it, and these tissues were more substantial at holding it and allowing me to use the tissue to blow my nose in it more than once if that makes sense lol. I really like using Kleenex as they feel a lot more luxurious and gentle than normal tissues, and when my nose is sensitive as I have a cold, Kleenex doesn't irritate in the slightest.
Overall, these are my much preferred option for carrying around, and although Kleenex is quite a well known brand these tissues can be picked up for on the cheap if you scout around. A packet will stay in my bag for up to a week or so (when I have a cold, longer when I don't!) and so at 99p for 10 packs, this equals to less than 10p a pack. Can't really ask for more value than this! I would definitely recommend them :)
These are an essential item for my handbag at all times but especially when I have a cold, they can also double up if you are out and about and have a toilet emergency when no paper is available but their primary purpose is to deal with a runny nose and because they are well made and good quality they are very effective at dealing with the side effects of a cold, namely a runny nose.
These are great travel tissues, the small size means they slot easily into either a pocket or a bag, I purchased mine from Poundland where you get ten packets for a pound which is an absolute bargain. There are ten tissues in each pack so I usually like to have a couple on me if out for the day, I also find these to be really useful when out hiking or while on holiday as they are small and easy to pack.
There is a small clear sticker on the back which you pull away to access the tissues from the top of the packet and they come out one at a time so you are not left with a clump of them in your hand and no way of getting them back in the plastic packet. They are two ply and nice and strong, in fact surprisingly strong and very absorbent. They are also nice and soft so they are perfectly fine to use on the softer skin of my daughter if there have been tears or if she also has a cold.
These are convenient and well made and as such I would certainly recommend them as I cannot find any fault with them at all.
During the winter months, both myself and my daughter seem to move from one cold to the next, so I always ensure I have a packet of tissues in my bag. Although I prefer Kleenex Balsam, Lauren doesn't like the smell so I have Kleenex original in my bag when I am out with her.
The tissues are 3 ply so I find that they are quite durable and you can use them a few times before you need another one. They don't fall apart after the first use or tear easily and I find they are really soft to touch, and not harsh on the skin like other tissues I have used have been.
The original tissues are available in a man sizes box or the individual packets, I don't tend to buy tissues for the home so I just buy the pocket sized packs (contains 6 tissues) as I can just pop them in my handbag or pocket.
The price for the pocket sized packs is around 50p. You can also buy them in multi packs of 6 for around £1.50 to £2.50 so I tend to buy multi-packs as it works out better value for money. Prices can however be as much as £3.00 so it is worthwhile shopping around when buying. They are available as most supermarkets and chemists like Boots & Superdrug.
The packaging is really simple; each individual packet comes in clear cellophane, with the Kleenex logo and a floral pattern to the front. The packet is re-sealable once opened but I have found that once I have opened a couple of times, it no longer seals back up. This is my only bugbear as if I forget to put the tissues back into a pocket of my bag and just drop them it, they tend to get a bit 'dirty' (by dirty I mean that there are allsorts in the bottom of my bag like sand, sweets etc!).
I always ensure I have a pack of these with me, regardless of whether we have colds or not, not Lauren in that little bit bigger and doesn't make such a mess when eating, I also find them ideal for wiping her face or if we use public loos and there isn't any toilet roll.
Overall, I would really recommend these and give 4 out of 5 stars.
Thanks for reading.
I am rather forgetful and absent-minded at times, and often when I am out and about I will realise that my handbag is missing some important item or other. Whether it is a pen, an umbrella, a handkerchief or a hair brush, there is usually at least one occasion where I will delve into my handbag to retrieve a much-needed item that simply isn't there.
This means that I often have to make a purchase of whatever item is needed whilst out and about shopping or travelling. In turn, I have a limitless supply of lip balms and pocket-sized hairbrushes as I end up buying so many of them. Another item that falls into this category is pocket-sized tissues as I am hopeless at remembering to pack a small package into my handbag before I leave the house.
Even though I had several small packages of tissues at home, I recently made the mistake of forgetting to take a pack with me when I was meeting a friend for lunch. I realised this error early on and so took the opportunity to duck into a local branch of 'Savers' the discounted drugstore, to see if I could pick up a suitable item.
I purchased two small packs of paper handkerchiefs from the well known "Kleenex" brand. The paper hankies are called the "Original Pocket Tissues" and were sold individually in small packages, although I believe you can also purchase a sort of 'multi-pack' that contains some of the individual packages. I have seen this multi-pack in branches of Poundland recently, which I believe contains six individual packs of paper hankies. This offers an excellent value price in my opinion, as I paid around 30 pence for each of the individual packs I purchased.
The packaging is rather basic, I must admit. Comprising of an oblong-shaped package made of thin white plastic, there is a sort of 'leafy' or 'fern' design detailed in green on the white background. There is a large oval 'badge' displaying the brand name and logo on the front of the pack, and the opening is at the top of the rectangular pack. The opening is shaped like a sort of semi-circle, and has a small sticky tab on the front which allows you to 're-seal' the package in-between uses.
The tissues themselves are white in colour and feel lovely and soft when used around the delicate nose area. There is nothing remotely 'cheap' about the quality of the Kleenex Pocket Tissues and their softness and fairly thick layers are testament to this. I find too that the size of the tissues is more than ample and they don't feel 'skimpy' which is not something that can be said of every brand of pocket tissue that I have purchased in the past. I have found that some brands provide a smallish 'square' of paper which doesn't really suffice for my own requirements! The size of the Kleenex Pocket Tissues in comparison is a more-than-generous 21cm, which is more than adequate in my opinion.
Further benefit is to be found in the overall quality of the Kleenex tissues. Never have I experienced the tissues 'disintegrating' or 'separating' during or after use, which is a MUST as far as I am concerned. I cannot stand cheap-quality tissues that simply fall apart whilst they are being used, and this is something that has never happened with the Kleenex tissues which instead keep a firm grip of all four of their 'ply' layers snugly and securely throughout their use.
Neither has any aggravation or irritation occurred after use, even with prolonged use during a particularly bad bout of hay fever or a head cold. Often during these times, my poor nose resembles Rudolph's, but I do feel the Kleenex tissues offer a little more in the way of 'protection' towards the delicate skin and nasal area, probably thanks to their softness and overall high quality.
I have only one bugbear as far as the Kleenex Pocket Tissues are concerned, and that is to do with the annoying packaging. The sticky label on the front of the package's opening is of a very poor quality in my opinion, and I find that it does not secure the packet adequately. This invariably means that the tissues contained within are allowed their escape into the deep and dark bowels of my handbag, where they circulate among clutter and debris. NOT the most hygienic or dust-free environment in which to store tissues of course. This fault does surprise me as I regard Kleenex as being a rather 'leading' or 'superior' brand, and I have to confess that alternative brands seem to have this little packaging 'hiccup' well and truly under control, presenting their tissues in little packs that seal adequately. I'm not sure why Kleenex have failed to follow suit, but in my view this fault is unforgivable from such a big brand and is deserving of one star being removed from the overall product rating.
Other than this however, I cannot really fault the Kleenex Pocket Tissues and will continue to buy them in multi-packs for my household, and in little individual packs when I forget to bring tissues with me when I am out and about. Four out of five stars from me..!
My handbag seems to contain everything with the exception of the kitchen sink, but I always like to be prepared for every eventuality. A necessary item is my pack of tissues unlike one of my work colleagues who thinks nothing of filling her bag with a rather long length of loo roll! I cannot admit to being loyal to any particular brand when it comes to run of the mill tissues, but I have a firm favourite when I am suffering with a cold and need something soothing for my red raw nose. In respect of general needs, I tend to stock up on multi-packs of pocket tissues when I visit Poundland and in amongst my last bulk purchases were Kleenex Original, which is a brand manufactured by Kimberley Clarke.
Each packet contains ten 3-ply white tissues, which are tightly packaged in polythene with a pull back sticky tab. However, I find that whenever I've opened a pack and placed it in my handbag, the remainder of the tissues fall out due to the packaging being rather flimsy as well as the sticky tab losing its small amount of adhesive, which subsequently refuses to reseal. As a result, I end up with tissues scattered in my handbag, which then tend to break. Consequently, it is necessary to store them in a small polythene food bag. The tissues measure 21 cm x 19 cm and offer a fairly good softness and thickness and unlike any boxed tissues that I've used they display a wide embossed border to prevent the three layers from separating. This is of real benefit as I cannot bear tissues where the individual layers separate and I'm left with a flimsy piece of tissue. Whilst the tissues are fairly soft, I'm sure that they were much softer the last time I made my purchase.
The tissues have an effective level of absorbency and unlike some of the cheaper brands I've used they do not develop a hole following a rather powerful nose blow! They serve their purpose well for general nose wiping and blowing, but they are a little harsh on the skin when I'm suffering with a cold. I cannot admit to having purchased individual packets as shops always bump up the prices, so I always stock up on multi-packs.
I made my purchases from Poundland in the autumn of last year and as far as I can recall there were six individual packets for £1. I have checked on the Boots website and at the time of writing they are charging £1.15 for the same size pack. Due to the reasons discussed above, Kleenex Original Tissues receive only 3 stars from me.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading
Hayfever is something that strikes me every single year, in bouts throughout the Spring, Summer and Autumn months on and off. This obviously is very difficult to cope with while I'm trying to work and so tissues are a godsend for all the sneezing that I do. Its not pleasant to be talking to colleagues or clients and sneezing away so tissues are something that I always keep on me at work, particularly at the moment, just so I know that when a bout of sneezing occurs that I am all prepared.
As my nose is on my face (obviously) I do not want a bright red sore one when I'm having to blow it 5 times an hour. This is why I like to have the best tissues that I can find and Kleenex are a well known and well trusted brand in my household. I always pick up these tissues from Poundland because I walk past one on my way home from work and they're only £1.00 (obviously). These can be purchased in packets of 6 from Sainsbury but they cost £1.25 so I never buy those anyway.
These tissues are individually packaged with each packet containing 9 tissues. The tissues are folded down quite small so that they fit in to the packet nicely. The tissues stay inside the packet nicely and I can fold down the sticky patch on the packet to ensure that the tissues stay clean and hygienic, even if I have a packet thrown in my handbag. The packaging is strong and protects the tissues well and I've never had any issues with the packet opening unexpectedly where the stickiness has worn off or the packet being ripped and exposing the tissues. This means that every time I need a tissue that they are soft, clean and hygienic.
The quality of these tissues is absolutely fantastic, particularly when they work out to be just over 1 pence each! These tissues offer fantastic value for money, at least I think so, and this is part of the reason why I pop in to Poundland on my way home and buy them when I'm running low. These tissues are very soft and are really gentle when I use them to blow my nose. They have little raised areas to them and they feel good. They are strong as well as being soft and when I blow my nose on them they do not rip or tear. These tissues do not fall apart, even if screwed up in my pocket, and in all I would say that they are absolutely fantastic. These are mainly used for blowing my nose on but sometimes I use one for a spill or if I need to wipe something off my face and even if I lightly scrub at the mark or the spillage they still stay together very well.
In all I am going to give this 5/5. They are strong, robust, soft and thick. They do not rip or tear easily and best of all I can get 10 packets for just £1.00!
As I start writing this review, I am currently suffering from an awful ongoing cold. I have been getting through tissues like there is no tomorrow. I am quite picky when it comes to tissues, especially when you have a runny nose, as you do not want a rough, itchy tissue. However, I also want them to be quite reasonably priced also. I have got through various types and brands of tissues, but now I always rely on these trusty tissues from Kleenex.
The price of these tissues is fantastic. I only paid £1.00 for ten packs of these from Poundland. I think that is great value as it works out at 10p per pack. These are also stocked in various supermarkets and pharmacy type stores, but I find that they are priced much higher, so always look in the bargain stores first. I was really impressed with the price I snapped these up for as Kleenex is quite a big brand name so I was happy paying this.
These come individually packed, and then have a large sheet to keep them all inside. The ones I purchased are dark blue in colour, with the basic logo and information on, as well as a lovely, white flower detail. You would not think I had only paid £1.00 for them. On the image displayed in this review, it pictures the ones with slightly coloured packaging, and I think this might be a more updated packaging for it. However, regardless of which packet you buy these in, they are the same tissues - just look out for Kleenex original.
I was amazed by the quality of these tissues, considering they work out at one penny each, as each pack contains approximately ten tissues. They are strong tissues, with a slight texture to them which makes them seem of a good quality. They are soft to touch, meaning they are fantastic for using if you have a cold or flu. They work really well and last for a while, as opposed to them ones which fall apart almost straight away. Due to the way these are packaged, I would recommend these best for on the go use. I keep one of these in each of my handbags, because you never know when you may need them. I primarily use these for tears or runny noses, however I think these would work efficiently for mopping up spillages and wiping marks off things if necessary.
I could not fault these tissues at all really. They are so handy, and now I will always buy these as opposed to buying a big box as you can use these whenever and wherever you are. Because of the sheer quantity of tissues you can get here for just £1.00, I will now continue using these for the foreseeable future as I think they are fantastic. I would definitely recommend trying out your local Poundland if you are interested in finding these. Hope this helps and thank you for reading.
I always like to have a packet of tissues with me when I am out and about as I never know when I may need to use them. I always like to use a good quality brand which is why I carry about these Kleenex Original pocket tissues as they are the brand that I prefer to use the most. They are good for anything, spills, a runny nose and to know that you have these in a packet on you puts your mind at ease. These aren't too pricey as well which is the best thing about them and they don't rip easily.
My packet of these comes in a rectangular shaped plastic wrapped packet and it holds ten tissues in a packet which lasts quite a while. The packet has the Kleenex logo on the front as well as having a dark blue design on it with flowers all over it. It has a really nice look to it, very natural and it just seems to really fit well with the overall Kleenex brand. The tissues have a sticky bit to make them resealable so that when you are opening and closing the packet, it still keeps the tissues clean.
KLEENEX ORIGINAL POCKET
The tissues are your usual white squared tissues and they have a textured pattern on them, they are three ply which is thick enough. The tissues are quite soft to touch and you can tell that they are thick enough which makes them look like they are really good quality. They are all folded up inside the pocket tissues packet but they all fold out well to reveal a whole tissue. They are nice enough to look at and being original they have that clean look to them which is all you want from a tissue.
To use these, they are thick, I have used these to soak up spills and to blow my nose and I find that these are very absorbent and soak up liquid well. What I also really like about these is that they don't rip easily at all so the three ply seems to work enough for these. They don't hurt my nose when I blow it and they just seem really kind to my skin and soft paper is what you want. They work well and because they are so absorbent you tend to find you don't need to use as many as cheaper quality brands.
These are really compact tissues and the packet being resealable is much easier as if you have these in your handbag all of the time, they may get a bit dusty but being sealed in, they are kept clean and germ free. These are so handy if you are not well to take into work and leave on your desk or just on the go, it saves you carrying a big box around. You get these in a multipack normally but you can get them just one packet as well but with ten tissues it should keep you going for a while.
I really like these tissues and would recommend them to anyone who is on the go. They are good for making life a lot easier and they are good quality and do not come apart, all three layers stick together to make one thick, absorbent tissue. I would happily buy these again as they do not hurt my nose if using a lot of them which is good for my skin. They are ideal in size and the packaging is really nice as well, so really I don't have any negatives about these tissues.
I got these in Poundland and you get 10 packets of ten tissues for £1 which is a really good deal as on their own these can be a lot more.
The official Kleenex website is http://www.kleenex.co.uk
I tend to stick to cheaper alternatives when it comes to pocket tissues, being quite reluctant to pay over the odds for a small packet containing very few tissues. On my last trip to the supermarket I was left with little choice when they only had these Kleenex Original tissues available so needing some in a hurry I made the purchase.
I bought a pack that contained 6 individually wrapped packs of tissues for around £1.50 on a special offer, working out to around £0.25 per pack.
Each of the packets of tissues contains 9 white tissues each being 4 ply, and measuring approximately 21 x 21cm square.
These Kleenex tissues are available to buy in most supermarkets and large chemists, as well as online stores.
The packaging is fairly attractive, with all 6 packs having a leafy design on the front with 2 packs being in green, 2 packs in blue and the remaining 2 packs in a light pink colour. I wasn't overly bothered about the packaging at long as it was functional and could access the tissues with relative ease by pulling the sticky tab back. They did however look pretty in my handbag, plus I wasn't worried about bringing a value pack of tissues out when I was in a restaurant for instance!
The tissues in each individual pack are contained in a strong plastic fitting bag, ensuring the tissues are kept clean, fresh and odourless for when they are needed.
I have found that the tissues are of a very good quality and compared to brands I have used previously are a lot thicker. Being 4 ply they are strong enough for everyday use for coughs and colds but I have also used them to mop up spillages, which they have managed the job with ease with no tearing or liquid seeping through the tissue.
These tissues are in all honesty nothing fancy but do serve their purpose well. They do not contain aloe vera or soothing fragrances but for a standard tissue, they are of good value for money and great quality. Compared to pocket tissues I have used previously they are probably of a higher quality particularly with regards to their thickness, as cheaper versions do tend to only be 2 ply. For the price I paid I thought these were a relatively good buy and may well start buying and using these Kleenex tissues instead of the supermarket value one's I had a tendency to lean towards. I would recommend as a handy product to have when on the go!
Despite the best efforts of several elderly relatives during my formative years, I never did take to hankies. However, I soon discovered the value of having a tissue handy at all times, largely due to the fact that I never seemed to have one when I needed it! Eventually, my mum got fed up of my sisters and I constantly raiding her handbag for tissues when we were out and about, and, come Christmas, we each found a little pack of these Kleenex tissues in our stockings. Not the most thrilling present for a teenager, it has to be said, but, as usual, Mum knew best and these handy little packs soon proved themselves invaluable. Nowadays, I still like to keep a pack in my handbag- it's much more convenient to have them all in one place, rather than having a load of loose ones wafting around.
These little pocket-sized packs come in multipacks of 6, contained within a larger plastic pack. Each pack contains around 8 tissues, neatly folded, and also housed in plastic. These are very compact (just 11 x 5.5 x 2cm), making them perfect for carrying around in a handbag, or your pocket (if you don't mind the bulging look!). The plastic packaging is nicely decorated with each pack featuring a butterfly or flower, front and back. Quite what these have to do with tissues, I don't know, but they certainly brighten things up. At the top of each pack is a plastic tab which is easy to pull back to get to the tops of the tissues and remove one. The tab can also be resealed, keeping the rest of the tissues together and clean. It's a very neat system, but does have one obvious drawback- the amount of plastic packaging used. In the area where I live, plastics like these can't be recycled, so go straight in the bin. It does seem a bit wasteful to be creating rubbish like this every time I've used up 8 tissues, especially when compared to a cardboard tissue box, which contains far more tissues and can be recycled once it's empty.
The tissues themselves are great quality- soft, but thick and very strong. They're also a generous size- 21cm squared, to be precise. Kleenex have obviously taken pains to make them attractive too, as each tissue features a decorative pattern imprinted round its edge- rather like a serviette. This seems a little pointless when it's just going to be used for nose-blowing, but I suppose there might be someone out there who'd feel happier being seen blowing their nose on a spruced-up tissue rather than a plain one. If you're that person, these tissues are for you! The quality and softness of these tissues really is an advantage though, particularly if you've got a cold and are needing to blow your nose frequently.
At around £1 per multipack, these tissues are pretty good value, given the quality of the tissues themselves and the convenient packs they come in. However, all the extra packaging does put me off, so I only buy them occasionally nowadays. This drawback means that I've knocked a star off what I'd otherwise rate as a four star product.
