Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
Advantages: Effective product, smells great, lasts ages!!
Disadvantages: Slightly expensive for a 50g tub.
I have recently become manicure mad... I have been learning all the tricks of the trade via YouTube, and in one of the tutorials, they recommended using Lush's Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter as part of your nail care routine. This is the first product I have bought from Lush. Despite the number of brilliant reviews they get on Dooyoo, I have always found the smell of the shop too over-powering to go in!
== The Product ==
This pale yellow cream is designed to soften hard skin on the body, particularly the cuticles, but it is also recommended for the feet, elbows and knees. It contains Shea butter, lemons and avocado oil to moisturise and brighten the skin. Lemony Flutter is the thickest cream Lush produce.
It comes in the traditional Lush packaging... a black pot with the bold Lush branding and details about the product. It has a screw lid top to keep the product fresh inside.
== My Thoughts ==
The citrus smell of the lemons hits you as you open the tub, but it is not over-powering, which I expected. There are other ingredients added into the mix, including lavender, coconut and camomile, to tone it down. Overall, I think it is a great scent to use for a moisturiser because it is so different to other products on the market.
Although the cream only contains 50g, this product will last a long time, which is great considering the price! You only need a small amount each time, because the butter literally melts into the skin and you feel moisturised almost immediately!
So far, I have used it on my cuticles and feet, and both times I have been impressed with the results. Since using the product on my nails, I have noticed that the skin around the nail has softened considerably, and I no longer suffer with the hard bits of skin you get down the side of your nail that are painful to get rid of! I am a fan of using acrylic nail extensions but hate how my nails look when I take them off. I now use Lemony Flutter a couple of times a day, for a week afterwards and my nails look much healthier. The butter helps bring back their natural shine, which is a great advantage.
When using the product on my feet, I normally apply straight after my shower in the evening, then put socks on to help the moisturiser penetrate the skin. It also prevents the oil sticking to my mother's floorboards!!
I would not use this product all over the body, since I think the scent would be a tad over-powering and you would run out of it quite quickly!! I do believe it is meant for the driest areas of the body like the hands and feet.
== Price and Availability ==
You will only find this product from Lush, obviously! Therefore, you can only purchase Lemony Flutter online or in store. It costs £5.80 per 50g... which is quite expensive in my opinion, but totally worth it since it lasts ages and has great results!
== Extra Information ==
As with all good moisturisers, only use within the expiry date for the best results.
As with all Lush products, they never test on animals, which is a great advantage in my opinion!
The butter contains parabens, so I don't recommend using it if you are concerned about them.
== Final Words ==
I would have no problem recommending this product to you. It ticks all the boxes for being a great moisturiser... great scents, works effectively and lasts ages!! 5 out of 5!!
