Advantages: smells lovely, works great, no need for anything else

Disadvantages: nothing

I wreck havoc on my fingers and nails. When i'm stressed (usually around exam time), i chew my nails down to nothing, and when that's done i chew the skin around my nail bed. They tend to look a state. After this bout of exams finished, i went back on the hunt i'm always on, for the perfect hand and nail cream.

Lush sell the lemony flutter cuticle butter for £5.95 for 50g of product. It is sold in typical lush style, a basic black pot, with a few sticky labels telling you what the product is for, what in it etc. Its the perfect pot. It completely ties in with the whole lush economic ecosystem agenda, and also, looks rather sleek on my dressing table with all my other black pots.

*Onto the product itself*

The cuticle butter is based on shea butter and beeswax, both ingredients which are well known and widely used for their skin softening properties. It smells wonderful, with that sharp lemony smell that you get in a lemon curd cheesecake, and because i LOVE lemon curd cheesecake it actually makes me so hungry. Texture wise, i'd say its more of a balm than a cream. I scoop it out of the box, but as soon as i start to rub it in to my skin, it almost seems as if it melts under my body heat, and becomes more lotiony in texture.

I use this product generously as a night cream for my hands, and it lasts forever, i've used it religiously for a month and have barely made a dent. I love knowing that it's going to last me a long time.

On application, my skin around my hands looks instantly better, and feels lovely. I rarely get the levels of redness around my fingers that i do when theyre drying out. But i don't just use it as a cuticle cream, ive been using it as a full on hand cream, and i always find that the palms and backs of my hands are so incredibly soft.

In my opinion it is the high content of oils and butters in this cream that makes your skin feel so soft and nourished. I have officially found my holy grail hand cream, and i probably won't ever by another, apart from a cheap one to keep in my handbag!
