“ Type: Eye Liner Brush / Brand: MAC / Subcategory: Eyeliner / Suitable for: Eye „
I bought the Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner a while ago and although I absolutely love the product I wasn't overly keen on the brush it came with as it was a little too thick.
I went to MAC to see if they had anything suitable as I love their products and use them a lot. They suggested I try the #210 brush as it was the smallest brush they did. I tried it as soon as I got home and achieved a perfect fine line on my upper lid within minutes. I was really surprised how easy it was to use and my eye liner looks really neat and professional.
Unfortunately I didn't take very good care of the brush, not cleaning it etc and had to replace it. But I now use MAC brush cleaner every time i use my brush and it is still in perfect condition after months of use. I strongly advise you invest in some brush cleaner, or at least clean the brush with soap and water. It is very delicate and can get ruined very easily.
The great thing about this brush is its really versatile. Perfect for really thin, accurate and delicate lines, but if you want something thicker you just go over it a couple of times. Its definitely the best brush of its kind, I haven't found anything as delicate and precise.
I find the best technique for this brush is as follows: 1) apply a small amount of eyeliner to the brush (not too much as it becomes clumpy) 2) Place a finger on the outer corner of your eye and pull it outwards. 3) Draw a line from the very inner corner to the outer corner finishing with an upward flick 4) Colour in any uneven bits to create a smooth line
Make sure you use a very fine line on the inner corner of you eye unless you are going for more of a 'smoky' eye look!
I highly recommend this brush. It is well worth the money as long as you take the time to look after it.
