Good mirror but the light isn't much use

I bought this mirror as it had its own light source and I thought it would be great for seeing better when plucking my eyebrows, doing my make-up etc. It is made by Revlon and cost me £20. I bought it from an online shop but I have seen it in loads of other places such as Debenhams and Boot’s.

The mirror comes on a stand and is double sided. On one side there is a normal mirror and on the other side there is a magnified mirror. Surrounding the mirror is a light which is powered by batteries.
The mirror is called the freedom mirror because you are able to life it from the stand so that you can carry it about with you. It fits in the stand great and it doesn’t wobble when in the stand and placed on a flat surface. When you take it out of the stand the mirror feels quite lightweight and doesn’t feel too heavy to carry. Being able to take it out of the stand is quite handy but the only thing is that you really need it in the stand to be able to use it as you can’t pluck or do your make-up when you are using one hand to hold the mirror.

The light that surrounds the mirror is supposed to be glare free and it is but only because it is so soft. I thought that I would be able to use this and the light would illuminate my face enough so that I can see what I am doing but the light is pretty much useless for that and I still have to put on the big light and place the mirror directly below it to be able to see exactly what I am doing so I may as well have stuck with my old unlighted mirror instead.
The magnifying mirror is good. It has 3x magnification which is enough to really see what I am doing close up so that I don’t miss any hairs.

Overall this is a good mirror but I definitely wouldn’t have went for it had I known that the light was so dim as I could have got one without a light a lot cheaper or just stuck with the one that I already had. If you are in the market for a new one then this is a good choice but don’t buy it just because it has a light as you might be disappointed with how useful it actually turns out to be.
