“ Type: Brushes / Brand: Revlon / What it does: Vitalizes, „
When it comes to applying my make up I have a collection of the right brushes for the right jobs and believe that good tools is more important than fantastic make-up. If I have a good application strategy it really doesn't matter over half the time what cosmetics I'm using!
I have several sets of make-up brushes and my preferred one's are Ruby & Millie, though I mislay them often and need something else so I have a few cheaper brushes that are back ups.
I recently inverted in a Revlon 'Vital Radiance' Foundation brush and so to match that I bought this the concealer brush when I spotted it. Although I don't mind the foundation brush from this range it's by no means my favourite but only setting me back a pound I felt I got a bit more than what I paid for so when I spotted this also at a pound I was unable to resist and actually a concealer brush was something I'd never used let alone owned!
The brush comes in a clear plastic pouch that seals to the top by folding over, ideal for keeping your brush in. I'm told it's Revlon 'Vital Radiance' and that's basically it. The brush is long and thin. The main part of the brush is wooden I assume and a sort of shimmery beige in colour, you then have the long silver part and that holds a very thin brown coloured, slightly pointed brush of about 1/2 inch. On the main handle in silver writing I'm told it's Vital Radiance' and on the other side it says Concealer Brush. Neat and tidy and simple to look at.... it is!
The brush is nice to hold and doesn't feel at all flimsy. In fact I stood on mine and it never even snapped!
Now you can use this for a variety of jobs on your face but lets talk first about it being a concealer brush. You can use this with with any type of concealer of course. Dot on liquid directly onto your skin and blend with this or use a solid concealer and sweep it with the brush and apply it that way. You could simply add extra foundation to areas needed with this brush too if your not into using concealers of course.
It's easy to use this brush. It has a slight stiffness to it but feels smooth to the touch. It has a slight oiliness to the bristles not that, that comes off of or anything but it does mean that the hairs stay smooth and flat and that the brush is really easy to rinse clean (particularly important if your using it to conceal spots etc) and to clean it just warm water and some soap will suffice and cos it's small and not all that thick it will dry in seconds!
The great thing about using a brush with concealers is that I tend to use less product and get a more sheer look. I know from applying straight from a stick of concealer that sometimes I think I've achieved perfection only to notice I have gone so heavy it's settled into lines and wrinkles I would rather it hadn't of done! No more with this, I use less and achieve more polished results!
Not only can you use this as a concealer brush though. Remember though this is what it is sold as but I have have used mine for applying eye-shadow as eyeliner too. Easy to direct due to it's size and none irritating cos it's smooth haired, I've achieved lovely, polished results to my eyes with this. Ive also used it to apply lipstick! Again Im in control so why not and me, well I simply wipe my brush after using it with a wet wipe and wash all my brushes weekly with baby shampoo!
A very versatile brush that is none flaking, easy to look after and that is small enough to take out with me for make-up emergencies I really do appreciate owning it. It looks nice enough and does no nonsense jobs and my concealer in particular is so much better since I've been properly blending it rather than applying it directly to my skin!
I bought my concealer brush in Poundland but have seen this around and about in places like T.J Hughes for around £3.00 and it is available online to purchase to along with a variety of Revlon 'Vital Radiance' Brushes.
