I take really good care of my skin and always have done from being a young woman as people who read my reviews on a regular basis will know, I am of my mature years now and so my skin is becoming so much drier as time goes along and so it is more important to me to take that little extra care and to make sure I take a little longer than I used to and not to let my routines slip and dedicate my daily and weekly time to take care of my skin to keep it nice and soft and in tip top condition the best way possible.
I have been using this body brush for over a year now and it was given to me as a gift at that Christmas time, it is a little worn out now and I really need a new brush as I use it quite a lot, it is a really nice brush, it is round and the top of the brush is a nice beach colour of which it is a nice soft wood, it also has a strap to place the hand into and to grip the brush to glide over the body, the strap is a really nice feature on the brush because it means it does not slip from my hands as I am using it. The strap is made from a strong weave kind of fabric material, which is very strong indeed and it has a little stitched on label with the words Sanctuary on the front.
The bristles on the brush are quite soft and they are not rough or harsh on my skin while I am using it, I find it feels lovely and I actually love the feel of it on my skin. My skin feels nice and clean too after using it, which is just what I need from a brush of this kind. The bristles are also just the right length for a brush in my opinion.
I usually just use my shower creams or gels on my skin with my sponge and then I just then use this brush to help give my skin an extra clean and refreshing cleanse if I am having a pamper day, I do not use it with every shower as I like to use a sponge an exfoliating scrub at least twice a week and so I usually just use this at least once a week as I find it is essential for my skin along with my body exfoliating products and I find switching really does help my skin to keep in the best possible condition.
My skin has never been sore or had an irritation at all after using it, I find it is just absolutely fine and just the way I love my skin to be after giving it that extra treatment. I have always used a brush for many years since I was a young woman and I will continue to use one because I just find them very good for my skin. I find this is very good to hold to rub gently at the back of my legs, I find sometimes this area can be hard to clean as I sit on a chair in my shower because I have a disability. I find this brush is nice and comfortable to hold and I find I can get a good grip of it without dropping it as I often do with a sponge.
I am left handed, not that it matters with this brush if you are left or right but I sometimes cannot do things with my right hand because I just cannot hold it correctly because of being left handed but I find because of the handle on this brush it does feel fine to use with my right hand because it cannot fall so easily from my hand and so it sometimes means it is a little easier to reach the back of my legs comfortably. I guess if you are disabled like myself you would know what I mean.
This brush is a very good quality and I absolutely love it and it is strong enough to have the staying power and the amount of time it lasts is just amazing. I also find after use it dries quite quickly and I just leave it in my bathroom and it is dry in no time at all.
I highly recommend this one as I think it is just beautifully soft for the skin and of which it works well too which is the most important thing with this kind of product.
I am going to have to buy and look for another brush real soon because this one is looking battered and worn now and needs replacing and I am sorry to see it go when the time comes to part company.
I give it 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review.
The Sanctuary Hip and Thigh Massage Brush is probably one of the best and most reasonably priced body brushes that I have come across. At £4.89 it's more expensive than some of the cheapy body brushes you can find, but they tend to be too hard or too soft and lose bristles, whereas the Sanctuary Hip and Thigh brush is in my opinion pretty perfect!
The Sanctuary Hip and Thigh Massage Brush has an added advantage over other body brushes in the fact that it not only has bristles but also rubber nodules. The brush apparently improves the elimination of toxins throughout the body while the rubber nodules 'provide a deeper penetrating massage into the fatty glands, and help to improve the appearance of cellulite' - sounds great!
The brush itself is backed with a polished wood and a cream coloured strap with the sanctuary logo - it all looks rather good quality. The brush is the perfect size for me to grip my fingers around, and the strap which loops over the back of your hand helps keep the brush in place and means you wont drop it if your hand slips.
This is designed for dry body-brushing and in my opinion is best used before a bath or shower as it takes off the dead skin and so tends to leave you a little bit dusty which you would probably prefer to wash off. Used in circular brush motions it really does seem to improve the quality of the skin as it gets rid of dead skin cells and leaves new glowing skin which looks far better. I actually use this on my lower legs and knees as well as the thighs as it's so good at getting rid of dead skin.
I won't lie, using this brush can be pretty tiring, especially if you are really trying to massage deep into the thigh. However, I think it works! You don't see immediate results but with regular use the appearance of thighs is improved sooo much - I guess probably thanks to those rubber modules. You also probably give your arms a good work out at the same time when using this product so that's an extra unforeseen advantage!
The bristles on this brush are just soft enough not to be scratchy, but are firm enough to feel like they are actually doing something. While some body brushes have a long handle this one can seem like a little more effort, but gripping the brush in the palm of the hand means you can apply more pressure and really work the rubber nodules into the fat, hopefully leaving it smoother!
Overall a great body brush! It looks good on the bathroom shelf as it's good quality and natural looking, and it seems to work! I have had mine for years and as of yet I haven't seen a single bristle fall out - perfect!
